Rumor: Bears / Titans Reach Agreement on Cutler
Mongo3451 replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
Adam Schefter reported that too. I'll add that there is no way in hell that is ever going to happen. -

Yet are GM's were crucified for picking Curtis Enis and Cedric Benson and both had it all over Richardson talent wise. We argue semantics all day long. IMO, Holmgren is not the choice. -

Holmgren moved up in the draft to select Trent Richardson. I'm not convinced in his body of work. What's Parcells up to these days? -
That's more like what I'd been thinking before Monday. I wish someone had an answer for all of this year's ago, so I have to go with my gut. From what I saw Monday, Cutler flat out quit. What I heard yesterday, was a Cutler that wants to stay and fix it. Did you get the vibe that he may be willing to take a pay cut? Anyway, I've been lied to before, so I gotta go with what I saw.

I will defend Cutler on this. I've stated this numerous times. The only way you can compare those two is from underachieving. Cutler is so much the tougher player, better team mate and human being the Jeff George. Jays teammates actually like him. Jeff George never had that. Being from Indiana, I've followed both of these guys since high school. Jeff George is an unbelievable prick on all levels and complete gutless pussy on the field. I will always take exception to this comparison as it is only talent based.

I applaud Jay for his efforts working with children with diabetes. He goes into clinics and hospitals without fanfare (no media allowed) to educate and inspire children. Diabetes is a tremendously difficult disease for children to manage on a mental and physical level. Any help they can get is great.

They will lose more than 15 million in revenue next year if they don't make the necessary changes. 11000 fans not showing up Monday night sent a very clear message to the McCaskey family.

Gotta say AZ, you are the poster I tend to agree with most on this site. You make some great points. On the theme of this post, I have to say I disagree. I've supported and rooted for Cutler to be the QB we have all envisioned he can be. But, final straws are simply final straws. Monday's performance simply showed that Cutler was done.. What he was done with, I don't know. For a leader to come out and completely wear "done" on his sleeve is unforgivable. I don't care if it's a little league baseball game, my expectation is that players fight till the end and lift each other up. Didn't see it and haven't seen it enough from Jay for him to have credibility in that regard. The only defense I can give him now, is that this organization is an utter mess that he can't overcome. I can not disagree with people blasting him. He not solely to blame, but he is a key part of it and I'm simply tired of his part in it.

It was brutal, but that is what I saw the other night.
-
Can't risk injuring trade bait.
-
I believe he can take any terrible team that has a need at QB to mediocre. The next step is where he fails.
-
Kidding about what? He wanted Cutler pulled too. That's only one at at least 5 times he ripped him. What is the topic again?
-
Is over... Cutler looked like a player that was mentally "done". Someone is going to be gone over this. What I saw was a fracture beyond repair. Now, the organization will have to figure out who stays and who goes. Gruden nailed Jay to the wall on false start penalties. 135 in the last 5 years! Says it's the QB's job to over emphasize the snap count in the huddle. Steve Young nailed it on demeanor and mechanics. Trent Dilfer hit on doing the little things right. Ray Lewis blew the lid off with his leadership comments. Also, did anyone notice that neither Gruden or Young had any ringing endorsement for Trestman? Sometimes silence speaks volumes. Don't worry about this team playing to lose out. They'll do that on their own. The choosing staff looks done as much as the players do. I also have a conspiracy theory for you; If Emery, Trestman and Cutler are together next year, it's the McCaskeys who called the Cutler deal.

It's amazing to me what a premium it is to have a good QB. There are only about 12 good QB's on the planet. So building around a leader looks easier on paper...
-
I hope you all watched the post game analysis...
-
Why cut him? He's getting us the draft pick everyone wants instead of showing some heart.
-
A good head coach is the straw that stirs the whole drink. He doesn't necessarily have to have the recipe, but needs bartenders that can create the flavor he envisions with the ingredients they are given. Trestman seems like a bartender. We need a frontman...

I'm saying that most of this is NOT what Kromer said. You put your thoughts, added his, then combined them to create a false opinion from Kromer. I applaud your steadfast opinion, but that gets countered through embellishing.
-
You basically stated that Kromer and you agree on Cutler. There are no facts to back that up. And you don't hold Kromer accountable because he, without fact, validates your opinion. Funny thing is; you don't need that to win the debate. You held firm and were right. You don't need speculation.
-
It's not when he does or doesn't audible, it's how. If Cutler is choosing incorrectly, that's huge. All said, I've held my judgment of Cutler all season. While I love his talent, I can't get past the little things he doesn't do that leaders do. Time for him to go.
-
This is bizarre. How does the "Cutler almost benched" let alone the "buyers remorse" thing get out in the first place? It's wrong in layers and reeks of desperation, discord and mutiny within the team. How else do you get assistants saying things the HC and GM have to deny or spin? Then OMG, a tearful apology to your franchise QB and it gets out too!?. You turned Jay Cutler into a franchise killer as he shakes his head in disdain of the whole situation. You think Cutler was difficult before, he's not taking any stock of this guy anymore. In all of this, you can't get shit for Cutler in a trade now. We as fans can only hope this all unsubstantiated bullshit. I'm thinking we've seen the smoke before; therefore there must be fire.
-
I like this way of doing things, but it takes multiple years. That's why I'm on board with Emery and Trestman for another year.
-
No to anyone that is not as good or better than Cutler. I'll take a draft pick though...
