  1. Leaders not only do the work they are supposed to do, but teach, preach and enforce others to the same standard. A good leader can be a mediocre player, but make talented players great. A good example would be Ron Rivera during his tenure as a LB with the Bears. His nickname was "Teach" and was respected by Hall of Famers on the team.
  2. Replying to the last two posts from TD and Crackerdog. I think you both correct in the terms of the Cutler deal. It's in the eye of the beholder on whether you feel he will be worth it or not. The staff has deemed it worth, so as of now, I'm behind it until it doesn't work. At that time, I'll determine my faith in the new brass. So far, they get an A on offense and a F on defense. Let's see how the rebuild continues....
  3. I think he will. Problem is, the O was taylor made for a quick overhaul, as the key skill positions were set. The D will be a different beast. First, we need to find an identity on D. Secondly, finding those leaders for it will be tough.(and can our coach coach it???) Lastly, putting capable components on the field in a cap tight year is gonna hurt.
  4. Agreed. And Lovie will definitely overpay for the intangibles that Peanut brings, so he can create the level of expectation he desires.
  5. Jerry Angelo has zero credibility talking about offense. In his tenure, he one drafted one offensive player worth a shit. One! I agree with all of your criticisms of him. That being said, one critique he has of Cutler is spot on. I've said it for years that Cutler is a point and shoot guy. Although I prefer the anticipating type of QB, you can win with Cutler. He's skilled, smart, tough and accurate. He may hurt you some games, but he's also capable of putting a string of MVP performances together. Just gotta hit them at the right time.
  6. He gets paid out of the owners cut. I could care less what they do with their money.
  7. I'm hoping for Conte or SMC to break out or break into a new career...
  8. [quote name='MadLithuanian' date='Feb 12 I personally have not seen anything remote resembling racism on this board. Maybe I missed a comment somewhere, but not a thing comes to mind. It was a fabrication. Plain and simple.
  9. I wish I could produce gold like that.
  10. Just when it was getting good too... lol
  11. I don't care, but there are many that will. There are several reasons that people are homophobic, whether it be religious, social upbringing or they are just creeped out by it. To me, they are a football player. I had a couple gay guys on my football team. I didn't know until a few years after and it had no effect whatsoever.
  12. According to what you are saying, we should draft DL regardless of who is on the board. Your approach is very mission oriented, but also shortsighted. No team ever got great drafting that way.
  13. Kinda with Bradjock on this one. We must get an impact player with the 14th. Since we have needs at all levels, get that guy we feel has a special feel for the game. Put me on record with this also, if you see a 2000 yard rusher or the next Jerry Rice, get him with that pick. I don't care how bad the D, you never pass greatness up if you unearth it.
  14. More so the up front way though. Talking about pressure, the QB doesn't have the ability to look off DB'S if they are getting pressure. Good DB'S will get abused by a good QB given proper time to go through progressions. That means everything to a passing attack. Ask Peyton.
  15. I like it as well. And actually don't mind a RB. We need a little speed and depth at the position.
  16. I'd rather see Mills stay and develop further at the RT position. We have Brown and Britton as key backups that are young as well. If we are going to spend a draft choice, it has to be for our OC of the future.
  17. At his age and productivity, it's almost better to cut then resign if they want him back.
  18. Glad I'm married. If I had 3 chicks, I wouldn't be posting 24/7. Just sayin...
  19. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Slaussen played well at OG. Leave him there and draft a guy for grooming at OC. If Garza is healthy and graded well by the staff, he deserves another year.
  20. Charles Tillman at FS. I don't care what he says, his days of being an effective corner are over. That way we can move forward with DL and CB, all while getting him his next Pro Bowl nod.
  21. Typo. Meant paying for. Fixed it.
  22. My friend at work said he read an article where Emery said he was strongly considering paying for Peppers for at least one more year. Thing is, I can't find it anywhere. Anybody?
