Fun post. I think I know: This coaching staff is good like we have not seen since Ditka and Buddy. This team will surprise some folks. (good and bad) This offense can become a nightmare when the O-line gels and if Cutler plays according to gameplan. I am as excited as I have been in years to get the dress rehearsals out of the way and see what is really up. Julius Peppers will get double digit sacks again. Non Bears: Seattle's D is nasty good Peyton Manning will find away to choke in the playoffs again. Tom Brady will be Tom Brady regardless of who he has running routes AP will NOT rush for 2K.

It's simply what men do. Yes, it's fun. But, more importantly, testosterone calls for it!

Let's have fun with this, shall we? Pretend you gave your wife a vacuum cleaner for your anniversary. She gets the gift, she's insulted and walks away in a hissy because she used to be prom queen and has always had her way with men, so her expectation is jewelry. That's Urlacher. On the other hand, Louis wanted the vacuum cleaner, because he knows he's the homely wife and is lucky to get tokens of adoration at all. But, he really had his heart set on a better vacuum, so he allows himself to seduced by the milkman. He comes back exclaiming that he's leaving unless we offer what the milkman did. And our response was, "We don't want you. We can do better than you." And moral of the story is, I'm on my 3rd wife...

Oh, I remember. Again, if we wanted him, he would have been a Bear. His value to us was not what he could get elsewhere. Now if he signed for less to play elsewhere you would have a point.
-
They probably gave him the option to be traded or take a pay cut. If they can't trade, I look for the latter to occur. No way Earl turns down a pay cut if they can't pull a trade...

We have some really good board members we haven't seen in awhile. Anyone know what's up with any of them? Are they on other boards, etc...?

McCown, Edwards

Marshall just has no guile in him. Love this dude from his attitude, honesty to his work ethic. I see nothing here to be concerned about with exception to the sore hip.
-
Yup, had we wanted him, he'd be here.

I read this last night and liked the amount of effort it took to write the article. Can anyone provide info as to who wrote it and what their credentials are?

Damn 10 team leagues are deep. I wanted to get Bernard on my team. Think he'll be a player come week 2.
-
Just not a feasible idea. You simply can't have a guy just to be a decoy. The defense would watch him as they shaded toward a worthy receiver. Wasted roster spot...
-
Yeah, Palmer went a pick ahead of Bradford. My league is a bunch of sharks. We are in year 15...
-
Thanks. I barely missed on a couple of picks. Two of note were Romo by one and Bears D by two. Would have loved that instead of Bengals and Eli. Also had to settle for Bradford instead of Cutler by 3 slots. I'm the only Bears fan in my league. I like it and barely missed loving it.

Geez guys! Is it that bad? You know, "if you can't something nice", like bad...

Sorry to hijack board space with this. This is for a 12 team standard league with a flex position. I picked from the 11 spot. Also note that I'll get 2nd position for the breakout free agents. QB- Eli Manning, Sam Bradford RB – Matt Forte, Chris Johnson, Lamar Miller WR – Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown, Cecil Shorts, JoshGordon, Kendall Wright TE – Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett K – Robbie Gould D/ST - Bengals I'm hopeful...
-
No offence taken here. I was just qualifying my previous statement. BTW - I drafted Bennett as my #2 TE. And hate the Cowboys right behind the teams in our division.
-
You were all warned...
-
For the record, my guy is one of the few realistic Cowboy fans and would place his knowledge up against anyone on this board. Otherwise I would not have thrown his quote out there. And there is a history. Yet, I'm still hopeful.
-
Check on all accounts. BTW, I have ex wives for this reason...
-
Mannelly, Weems, E Bennett, Scott.

Agreed. NFL corporate has become a bunch of hypocritical money whores. Exploit the hit and extort the hitter. I think if you lay a fine out on a marginal play, clear intent needs to be established.(and it can't possibly be done) Who cares if he lowered his head, if he didn't initiate lead contact with it. Just reviewed the play frame by frame. No way that hit is dirty. He lowers his helmet slightly before contact after he already knows he's NOT leading with the helmet or making helmet to helmet contact. He's literally 2 feet from the receiver at looking right at him when he starts to lower.
-
Agreed. (see above)You forgot to put the word the word "ever" in there...

My buddy is a huge Cowboys fan and very knowledgeable and gave me this report on Bennett. "You are gonna hate this guy before the season is over. He can't catch under pressure, doesn't like to get hit and pouts when he's not involved with the game plan." Me, I'm a big believer that people can change. He seems like he's been about business the last year with the Giants and so far with the Bears. I'm hoping he gets at least 5 targets this week against the Raiders. He can be a redzone beast.
