  1. My buddy is a huge Cowboys fan and very knowledgeable and gave me this report on Bennett. "You are gonna hate this guy before the season is over. He can't catch under pressure, doesn't like to get hit and pouts when he's not involved with the game plan." Me, I'm a big believer that people can change. He seems like he's been about business the last year with the Giants and so far with the Bears. I'm hoping he gets at least 5 targets this week against the Raiders. He can be a redzone beast.
  2. Can't help myself sometimes. I'm honestly trying, but it's hard when the responses are unacceptable. Back at ya!
  3. Thanks for your service. BTW - that is worth 6 exclamation points. Not your post title. Out...
  4. Which is exactly why I question Wesson getting a boner with his exclamation points. Just doesn't fit with me. If we go to any of our backups this year, season is over.
  5. And this dude sucks bis ass, so what IS your point? That's my point. Again, absolutely nothing worthy of exclaimation. If you can't take a little ball busting, grow a pair. I thought you were military for Pete's sake. I guess thin skin is allowed there now.
  6. Huge message to Webb too. "We are not just demoting you to have competition and give a guy a look. Your effort/performance is lackluster and if it continues you won't have a job. Get it?"
  7. Sorry. My negative comments are from you painting a false picture of something that's not remotely newsworthy. I felt pranked. We're you genuinely excited or was it simply a lure to your post?
  8. Exclamation points, really? C'mon man...

I agree on the points you made on being encouraged with the staff's ability to draft and the new talent of the right side. What scares the crap outta me is that we have yet to see any of the blitz packages we will see in week one. There will be a huge lack of experience on the right side. Not only does it usually take years for a o-lineman to develop, it takes seasoning of an OL to develop the continuity it needs to succeed. While the feeling of hope needs its day in the sun, reality may be looming in a few weeks. I like the look/feel of things to come though.
  10. ...Between Trestman and Lovie...? I'll start with draft choices and free agents from Emery within the respective years. How about the balls to start two rooks on the right side? There's more but I want to see your thoughts! I like what I'm seeing and hearing about the new staff.

His will be my next jersey.
  12. Quick thoughts: Cutler has issues that may never go away. His locking onto Marshall will be his undoing in Chicago. He caused a pressure, sack and interception by holding onto the ball too long. We have 3 weeks to get this out of his system. Not sure it can be done. Good draft by Emery. Long is bonafide and Bostic delivered a hit like we never saw from Url. (not saying he's Url, but damn it's nice to see a guy hit like that) Have fun running those slants this year Packers. Love the play calling. OL still sucks. Continuity is a must at this point. DL looks good, even without Peppers and Melton. ST's look good. D is still going to be a strength.

I was encouraged from what I saw of Long tonight. Great feet, base and hands. He is going to make rookie mistakes by the boatload, but is definately a bonafide stud in the making.
  14. Been saying the exact thing for the last couple of years. It's the same thing Tice fell in love with. The thing coach Meat Head couldn't figure out is that Webb is also a Meat Head. He's got time to figure it out as he's still a cheap, experienced, healthy and young option. When I say time, I mean 3 weeks...
  15. Excellent news! Knowing we had mediocrity with Webb and Britton comes in and shines adds pleasant depth.
  16. I am optimistic as well. But, don't get me wrong, Cutler scares the crap outta me. For one reason or another, he has not lived up to billing in Chicago. The only optimism I have is that this is the only offensive minded staff Cutler has seen since becoming a Bear. I've been critical in the past of Cutler's ability to one) get rid of the ball quickly, two) anticipate the receiver coming open, three) accept the checkdown and four) be completely receptive to coaching. More later...
  17. Bizarre. Jackson in the 1st was crazy, but you say 10 running backs were taken ahead of him. Love your QB's. Recievers could have been better. Backs, meh. Trade Rodgers for a stud WR and you have a 9.
  18. Yea, agreed. It's really odd to sustain a concussion in training camp. This dude just may be naturally fragile or simply not have the natural instincts to fall or take a hit properly.
  19. Thanks Dawizz. The last link about Emery was a fantastic read. I encourage all to take the time and check it out.
  20. He has since said that everyone is "bought in". I think Cutler is brutally honest to a fault. I like that quality in people, as I don't sugar coat well, as well.
