  1. Kevin Sumlin would be my choice.
  2. Absolutely start with Mills, then Garza, then Slausen. An NFL rookie should come in as solid, as Garza and Slausen have no more upside other than average. On DL, Allen and Paea have been horrible. I agree with you on Safety and LB, but I'll state it just like I did last year. If you don't have solid people up front, the back end will suffer as a result. The tail don't wag the dog. The boys up front are that dog. I hate to use the cowboys as an analogy, but look what they did. They gutted their OL and DL and built it through the draft. It may take a couple of years, but the only way to build a real team is to be home grown. We have so many players that were not originally Bears it's disgusting. No pride, no tradition because they were already taught how to be an NFL player elsewhere. No wonder coach can't get people to buy in and believe. They've all been on suckass franchises before us.(Cowboys, Raiders, Lions, Vikings, Jets...) At this point, it's time to ring some bells. Cut every shitty attitude and hasbeen on the team at the end of the season.(And I bet it's not much more than 5 to 7) If the shelves are bare, so be it. I would rather root for a bunch of no names that are hungry and willing, than the entitled steaming pile of allstar crap we've been watching.
  3. This season, we start with 2 things; fire Tucker and Decammilas immediately. The product they put on the field was pure vomit. In the off season upgrade the OL and DL. I've said it a million times, "it all starts up front!" No pressure on opposing QB's and the opposite on our end makes everything worse. More to come...
  4. Yes about Ditka's staff. He had zero control over Buddy Ryan and hated it. To the other point; you are correct. They were better coaches. But, for the theater, memories and history of the period, I wouldn't change a thing regarding Ditka. He will always be "da coach".
  5. Nice stat. Something I would like to see is a comparison of drops and penalties. It seems like we've had a boatload of those.
  6. Maybe sitting at home this weekend and watching the Patriots and Fins destroy their opponents will bring a little understanding. We aren't as good as expected, but the teams that are beating us are doing well. Maybe our schedule is a little tougher than we thought.
  7. I was an Arians supporter too. Living just outside of Indy, I saw enough of him to know he would be a good HC. Plus, it doesn't hurt that your brother in law works for Colts, so I had additional insight. I'm still hopeful Trestman can right the ship. His methods may take some time for full culture change. If I don't see improvement and desire after the bye, my opinion will change.
  8. Thank you for the info. I'm always trying to learn more.
  9. Both injuries are absolutely bizarre. They crash, push and fight every single play and a simple jump and land blows two knees out the exact same way. What is the dynamic of that one particular move? I've never seen anything like it. To make it worse he's the former Raider that ran his mouth in the locker last week basically saying, he didn't leave the Raiders to come into the same situation here. Thanks for bringing that culture with you by celebrating while 25 points down, you f'n dumbass! You have to cut him now to set an example.

    What now?

Also heard the 49ers are going to have to make space for 3 defensive starters to return to the roster. Could be a deal sweetener if a trade could be made. Otherwise they lose then for nothing.

    What now?

    He's not worth anything anymore.

    What now?

It's never a good to tank for draft position. I hate that thought with a passion. Also, we don't have anyone new to develop that hasn't already played. Honestly, at this point, I would trade Marshall before the deadline to gain players/picks for the future. I have a sneaking suspicion that he is going to be a major pain in the ass as a free agent. This team lacks talent on every level of the defense, still have issues with OL and have no speed on offense. I would hate to lose him, but we may gain through that loss.
  13. What ails our offense is we have no speed anywhere.
  14. Even Earl Bennett. How many 3rd down conversions did he convert?
  15. He must have killed them good, cause none of them are doing much these days. (Lovie excluded)
  16. I'm happy if there was some extra curricular stuff going on in the locker room. Sometimes the Zen approach to coaching can lead a team into complacency while true accountability is being earned. I'm for giving Trestman one more year. I've seen enough of the DC and ST. I'd love to see a former HC come in as a coordinator to assist Trestman with his duties. Or at least be a sound advisor.
  17. It's Cutler's fault! Go Bears!

    SMC is back

Yeah, I wanted Chandler Jones. I think SMC will be ok if he can stay healthy though.

    Last 2 drafts

Draft one had a heavy Lovie influence. It's on Emery's clock, but...

    SMC is back

At least you are consistent my friend...

    SMC is back

Somewhere in Bearsland Terra Tor is cursing at the top of his lungs, lol. I'm glad too. I think he was making good progress.
  22. Just so we're clear, that is not my opinion at all. I'm not saying we will be good will Joe D, just will get better.(poor would be a great inprovement) I also don't think bringing in ST talent has been a huge priority.(not like JA) Agree with the rest of your post. And Joe D would have been fired last year were it up to me.
  23. I agree with most here that special teams is in desparate need of improvement. They know this, but are having a hard time because the bodies they were counting on to progress are now thrust into starting roles due to injuries, thus giving them more pressing things to learn and practice. This sort of thing happens with the turnover we have experienced the last couple of years. My expectation is that they continue to get better as the seasons goes on and make a huge jump next year, as we continue to purge older vets and add youth and speed to both sides of the ball.
