  1. 2 interior OL is a huge need.
  2. I think Roach and Urlacher stay. That leaves 6 draft choices to fill the OG, DB, WR slot. With the other 3 picks, I take C, LB, LB.
  3. I'll take Cooper in 1 and Jones in 2 please!
  4. It kills me to have this conversation. Clutts was perfect and he was let go for squat. Don't get me started on Greg Olsen and why we are desparate for TE. So glad the dumbass crew is gone.
  5. Url was below average last year. Emery is probably letting him see what his value is on the market which is lower than what he thinks it is. That should get him a deal for what the Bears are offering. If the Bears find value in him, he'll be a Bear.
  6. Nice find. We've been talking about the low risk of going OL go for years. Good to see it confirmed with some solid metrics.
  7. That's my thougt, as you can't replace the whole thing at once. Look at what we have. We have nothing at OG or backup C. Nothing! At tackle we have Webb who's 24 and iimproving. Carimi is 24 and a year removed from surgery and should improve. Brown is 23 and a project. Hopefully Scott will round this unit to make it reliable. We need 2 new starting guards now. Louis can not be counted on this year and can be signed cheap. Garza is no spring chicken and has hit his ceiling long ago. Build it inside out and you'll see a quicker result.
  8. It's not that he's not wanted. He's the swing guard and they won't pay him starter money to stay. NE has arguably the best guard combo in the league. He'll start for someone this season.
  9. What about that Thomas kid from NE? He filled in for some games and graded very well, He's young and will likely come cheap.
  10. This is the Olin Kreutz negotiation all over again. He eventually took less money than we offered to go suck elsewhere. Hopefully the Bears and 54 learned from that.
  11. I think Trav was Nostrodamus on this thread though. Gotta give him props!
  12. I think they'll try to recoup Hester's speed this off season. It's doable. He'll have to change his workout routine. Since he is no longer a WR, he'll be able to concentrate on getting his speed back. Since returning will be his only chance to make an impact he may just be hungry enough for success to return to old form. Of course they'll evaluate that and determine if he's worth the money before camp is over.
  13. I've been reading a lot of insider info on Cutler lately and don't like what I'm seeing. One former Bears coach said he's uncontrollable. I like Cutler and hope he succeeds. This will be his make or break year with the Bears.
  14. If I were KC, I would trade down and get some extra picks. Lane Johnson will end up being the best player in this draft and they could get him later.

    2013 Cap Hits

From what you typed, it looks like it's cheaper to keep him. Please clarify, as I am not a cap savvy guy...
  16. Let that be a lesson to you...
  17. Aren't we a little chippy? When you make a statement like that, just know it better be on point or we will get you. I know I read that, due to sample size, we couldn't quantify how horrible he was.(BTW - you never used the word horrible like you claimed you did) Has was obviously and undoubtedly the worst lineman in the NFL last year regardless of how long he was the starter. Back to the turd analogies. No matter how much poop you smell, it still smells like poop and never stops smelling like poop.
  18. Sample size? How much did anyone need to see before he killed our team? He was the starter and got yanked in favor of someone equally horrible. He and Rachal may not be fit for the CFL.
  19. Maybe structure the contract so it looks better to the public. Like 2 years 10mil with all sorts of incentives he will never get.
  20. It's not super clear. but in a nutshell, I think the OL should be built inside out and he thinks Left to right. It may not be winnable.
