I don't like pushing contract money out in this instance. If you think it's a championship move, go for it. I don't see Bennett as the missing piece to a good enough defense. If Briggs is truly unhappy I would trade or cut him before the offseason program begins. If you are building a new defense, you don't want one of your elders crowing on about "glory days" and management moves. I want guys with their eyes positively on the present and future.
