  1. I'm not replying to all, but only what is relevant to the topic. Yet an acceptable explanation, because there is always a reason for failure. I'll take continuity, if it's actually valid, over saying a highly talented group of people who have excelled at every level athletics, simply suck. How blind are you. Christian Ponder? Percy Harvin missing half the season. No other options in the passing game? Yet they run wild on a barely healed AP knee? You should get that, but you'd rather be right than correct... That was 12 in continuity at seasons end. Kind of a bad stat. Pace's only year with team and he simply wasn't physically capable anymore and our stubborn coaches held on. Omiyale, first year at OG maybe? Williams first year at RT. And talent does play a part. Just not the major. It doesn't go toward the entire team. Simply OL performance. Stupid? I never called you you stupid for dangling off TO's nutsack last year. But could have. Or when you were clearly wrong on the Webb V Williams debate last year. Time to check yourself before you wreck yourself. I can access a totall dickhead side of myself if I need to. Just choose not. DL has nothing to do with OL, but you can look at basketball in comparison to OL continuity. The Heat assembled an all star lineup, but did NOT win a championship in their 1st year. Now, in their 3rd year, they are on a rampage. Reason = continuity. Look at this years LA Lakers cast and crew. Continuity! They started to get it together toward the end of the season when they started to develop... wait for it! ...CONTINUITY. All NFL caliber players have a degree of talent if placed in the right system and given time to develop. But, it is very clear that you can't put it together and expect them to thrive without continuity. It takes time. You know that. If you assembled the best collective OL talent in the NFL, not the all world OL you dreamed of to start. They would need continuity before they would actually BE the best OL in football. End of lesson. I realize due to your stubborn nature, you will continue your argument, but I get bored quickly. Do your best, you will still be wrong. Just accept it.
  2. Some reading material. There's a lot more where that came from. http://www.csnbayarea.com/football-oakland...-offensive-line http://www.orangepower.com/threads/gp-offe...tinuity.161443/ http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-01...randon-marshall http://www.footballoutsiders.com/extra-poi...ntinuity-scores http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2013/2/13/3...rsonnel-changes
  3. So, the time it's partially not true is when you assemble the greatest offensive line of all time. There is nothing you will ever say to convince me otherwise on the importance of continuity. I invite you to seriously try though.
  4. Not true. Are going to tell me if all of our rookies go to the Pro Bowl this year, then all of them blow out their knees by year three, when they have no injury history, would be a bad draft? It usually takes a year or two to judge a good draft. I'll agree it may take three to judge a bad one...
  5. Last years draft and off season had Lovie written all over it. Special teamers signed via FA, overpaying for a backup running back, drafting a safety in the 3rd, no attention to OL and scrubs to develop in the late rounds. This draft and off season was completely opposite. So glad Lovie is gone. I really look for a smarter football team this year.
  6. I suggest not. Continuity for OL is more important than overall talent. Once we find some pieces that work this year, they should remain in place next year. You are suggesting an 80% change next year, after an 80% change this year. Can't do it. We will all see the OL struggle initially and hopefully find their stride toward the end of the season. Once the season is over, I can only see one or two tweaks in the off season. One will be C and the maybe would be on the right side.
  7. Moot is the word you are looking for.
  8. Trestman worked with Tebow for nine days before he was drafted. If Trestman thinks something is there, we may pull the string. But, I doubt it...
  9. Shes not holding the ball right...lol
  10. Damn, I should be in Canton then. No to Tebow.
  11. 85 was the infamous holdout year of Bell and Harris. They missed the boat in a legendary way on that one. I still count them on the team though.
  12. Oh, absolutely. I didn't put mine in order. If so, it would be C, CB, DT, RB, DE and QB. I wouldn't draft in that order because I would take the premium positions like CB, DT and DE with the early picks. Really hope QB doesn't dictate a high draft choice next year.
  13. I loved our draft. Looking at film on Long, I think he is going to be a good. He is very quick and plays with a very strong base. He'll only get better with time. I also like Bostic over Brown. Bostic has the prototype frame where Brown is smallish. I can see 5 of these guys starting not this year, but next.(Between 2 and 4 this year) Great depth and value...
  14. Yea, it's hard to beat Singletary, Wilson, Marshall, Harris and Rivera. That group was elite.
  15. You and Adam really hit on why I started this post. I was in the woods when I sent it so I didn't give my complete thoughts. Next year we will have to decide if we want to sign Jennings and Tillman at corner, a replacement for Bush and heir to Forte, whether or not to extend Cutler and decide if we want Peppers at 16 mil and a replacement for Garza. So, I'm looking at getting DE, CB, RB, QB, DT and C. Things change fast in the NFL. I loved our draft. I think the only thing that would have made me happier would have been to have gotten Schwenke at some point somehow.
  16. After reading posts about who we drafted and what our needs are/where brings a question to mind. Knowing our roster, free agents, draft choices and UDFA's; what our your thoughts for future needs? (This year and beyond...)

    Round 3 LB ?

My immediate thought yesterday. Like the pick though...
  18. I'll point it out when it happens again...
  19. And you should try to use words in correct context. Check yourself before you check others.
  20. I'm on an OL high right now. I wouldn't mind if they drafted Terron Armstead in the 2nd and Schwenke in the 4th. I'm just ready for some big guy domination!
  21. I have no issues with this pick. Going into the draft I had guard and center as my number one needs. I don't think there was/is a better prospect availible. I suspect Emery tried to trade down, but nobody bit on the Te'o or QB hype. Win some lose some. So he takes a player he really likes. All good. Dude is a beast of an athlete.
