  1. I would be too, especially if McCown has a swan song left in him. Lovie will definitely keep things in house and the locker room in check.
  2. I love what Marshall has done for us, but I said trade him a month ago and stand by it. I also said trade Forte. Get what you can for these aging stars and draft a solid foundation for the future. We need speed and youth and this years draft is going to be loaded with RB talent. I don't give a damn about anything but building an OL and DL so our new coach and GM can have a chance.

The reality of Cutler is this: love him or hate him, he is still one of the top 15 QB's on the world. They don't grow on trees. I have major issues with him. It's kinda like hating your boss, in the sense that his replacement may be worse.
  4. I always thought Toub would make a great HC. Special teams guys learn to bond with and utilize the whole team.
  5. I'm a Sumlin fan. Part of me would like Rex, just for entertainment value.

    Like to disagree, but can't...
  7. I've read differing accounts about what Ted Phillips role will be. What is the latest and has anything concrete come out of Halas Hall?
  8. Can you paste? Can't get past the Tribune's spam attack...

I'll bite because I agree with AZ. Jared Allen is old and wayyyy overpaid. Houston was worthless all the way up to the blown out knee. Young just ruptured his Achilles tendon so we don't have anyone that I trust to get after the QB. If you can't get to the QB, nothing else behind that will succeed. If they guys suck at 7, I agree. Then I go blue chip LT or D...
  10. You've been gone for awhile, but this has been discussed and agreed ad nauseam for weeks...:-)
  11. He doesn't need permission to talk to anyone. I get what you meant and agree.

    Geesh...
  13. For the amount of high picks Angelo used in his drafts, his success was awful.
  14. DE and OL should be our main priority this draft. We have no one that can get to the QB and our OL is a sieve. You'll never have hold db's if the QB has all day. OL and DL are the last two places to hide weakness. It all starts up front, then fix it on back...
  15. They will handle it as a united front. It's the first step in the healing process. Although he's staying, they want to put a positive spin on it for the new establishment, while not making it look like a slap in the face.

If they are young, cheap and teachable, keep. If they are productive and reasonably priced, keep. So, Allen, Tillman, Conte, Houston and Williams can go. Hire peanut as a player relations consultant or something of the sort. If Allen takes a cut, he can stay.
  17. Yay, Jason's back!
  18. Fantastic news...

    Loose lips...
  20. Agreed. After Cutler quit on the team the last game he played, I was done with him. Then after my conversation with my insider, I'm thinking he may be OK. But Ditka? Gotta start with my initial gut. Cutler is somehow cursed.
  21. Watching Countdown, Tom Jackson and Ditka endorsed Trestman. Ditka stated, "Can't win with Cutler". Not new news, but damn...
  22. Just read an interesting post. It said: what do John Elway, Steve Young, Jay Cutler and RGIII have in common? They all had their best season playing for Shanahan... Any validity to that point?
  23. Lol, no. He was an offensive player no longer with the team.
  24. My guess is they had money to spend and he was easy to get done. Hopefully it was a deal that if they cut him, they owe him nothing. He was horrible the last couple of games...
