  1. I like the thought of using extra DE'S. It has paid dividends to the Giants more than a few times. In a passing league, pressure is more valuable than ever. Also, I think Peppers would be devastating on the inside in those situations. I've also often thought flashing the 3-4 would be nice utilization of SMC as a wildcard LB. My thoughts are, with the premium on protection, the more ways to test that would be progressive.
  2. I'd call Chris Harris before that...
  3. Sorry, I don't have specific plays documented. However, I did look at every play, as I stated previously, frame by frame. We've discussed strengths and weaknesses at great length. At this point, I dont know what else to say, other than what I already have. SIDE NOTE: See my comments on the TO post again and you'll find my reasons for him not making it were talent related.
  4. Dude, get real.(A spreadsheet, really?) You could have a spreadsheet, flowchart and a powerpoint presentation and you still would be wrong in my opinion. If you went through the entire PDCA process, it's still subject to interpretation. If you grade OL like you grade T.O., the short bus to bias-ville is honking. Of course, that's simply my opinion...
  5. Remember, I can play all 3 at once. I think RB is a dead position, unless you can get one of the top guys. There were only 3 this year. There are usually 8. I'm hoping for luck on the waiver wire. I drafted Gore's backup too, lol.
  6. I did look at each play, frame by frame. I saw what I saw. If you remember, I was in Williams camp untill last game. Look at it again objectively. I did...
  7. Wow, lol! I got Cutler in the 6th in a 12 team league. Picked up Josh Freeman in the 8th for insurance.
  8. I think RB is weak like mine, but QB can offset that for you.
  9. I'd really love to see a serviceable vet get the axe this week. Miracles happen, right?
  10. I had my fantasy draft in my 15 year old 12 team league. Needless to say, my buds are experienced and ruthless competitors. Anyway, they dogged my draft strategy this year, while I thought I was ahead of the curve. Here are my starters: QB_CUTLER WR_MEGATRON, FITZGERALD FLEX_DWAYNE BOWE RB_GORE, ISAAC REDMAN TE_JIMMY GRAHAM K_WHO CARES D/ST_BEARS, BILLS I'm weak at running back, but loaded at the receiving, flex, tight end, d/st and qb. I thought it was great, especially starting from the 7 spot. Thoughts? Be as brutal as needed...
  11. Had it too. Took year for it to go away. Good trick is to stretch your foot and calf while standing with your foot on a board.

    TO Cut

Yes, I am... The type to say hahaha!
  13. JaMarcus Webb is better than Chris Williams. The ceiling vs floor argument should be over, as Williams floor at LT is immensly low. He doesn't have the quickness, power or leverage to sustain blocks. Sure, he makes less mistakes than Webb, but it's not enough to overcome his shortcomings. Webb wins by default. That being said, we are in desparate need of an LG. Spencer makes too much money to have a roster spot. He takes a paycut or gets cut - IMO. Rachal was a wasted signing and should be cut. Carimi looked much better, with Garza an Louis remaining solid. I have to say, in this make or break year. I go for it and put Williams back at LG as the starter. Then, try to sign a swing tackle if an experienced vet gets cap cut. Or try a late round trade. Lastly, I haven't spoken about our TE's when talking OL, but they have been subpar. Spaeth should not make the team, as I have found him completely useless.
  14. Interesting. It's unusual to pay one of your own then ask them to take a pay cut in the same season. I get it because he was getting pushed for the 3rd spot by lesser paid guys. I wonder if McCown has accepted his pay cut yet?
  15. I think the reason we say it doesn't matter what other teams do/did is that we can only judge performance based on what actually happens. Like Crackerdog said, "we'll find out a lot more Friday". Then, we'll break it down over the weekend and see if we debate the staff decisions.
  16. I honestly wasn't making a point. I just didn't understand what yours was. Now that you've committed, I will as well. FWIW all of the coaches mentioned above, built their teams form crap. Lovie inherited a lot of talent. That being said, I have not been a Lovie fan throughout his tenure. However, I have noticed a change in him the last couple of years that has softened my stance.(a little) This year means a lot... Since, this is an Urlacher post I won't elaborate any more on the subject. I just wanted to clarify your interpretation of my question.
  17. Not sure what the point is when you reference a .552 win percentage...
  18. I also like the fact that we have a better ability than any NFC playoff caliber team to grind a bad weather game out. That should not be overlooked when game planning us.
  19. Yep, saw the same game. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what the opposition runs. You need to look at success and failure. The only negative impact play Webb had was that run to the right where he let his man laterally make the play. No sacks and no penalties. And I disagree on the pressure you claim he caused. He had his man sealed on that play. Carimi, on the other hand, lost his ass on it. That one game Webb looked like an NFL caliber tackle. I'll continue to agree with you that Williams is the safer choice.
  20. He also said we didn't need to invest in OL last year, then turned 180 and .bitched cause we didn't. To each his own.
  21. add an LG or swing tackle to my list...
  22. I did an OL/DL analysis. DL: Loved the NASCAR package. It was like a jailbreak. Good to see we took a page from NYG's playbook. I wonder if we'll see Peppers play inside on any passing downs. Not going to focus on the DL much, as I think they are going to be as good as I've seen from this team in 20+ years. OL: I thought they played better as a whole. Carimi - He was worst of the 3 tackles. To me, he is not setting his achor very well. Definately could use a little more weight. He's probably lighter this year to help the knee. Louis - Love this guy. Easily our best run blocker, nasty attitude ans was mistake free in pass protection. He was our best OL in last game. Garza - Solid as ever Spencer - Geez he was bloody awefull in every aspect of the game. Rachal looked better, but not enough to look good. We could be in trouble here. Webb - Made only one bonehead mistake on a running play. I think this kid is lazy, but can truly see his upside. He may have as much talent as anyone. I thought he played really well. When he's engaged, he moves people. Williams - Mistake free game from him. He just has no power, as he struggles to hold his own on every play. But... He holds his own on every play. If it were up to me, I would start him over Webb. But, Webb definately has a future if he wants one. If Webb beats Williams for the starting LT spot, I think they need to strongly consider trying to find a servicable swing tackle and move Williams back to G. Spencer/Rachal were that bad.
  23. I haven't seen it, but NFL Network will replay at 4 today. I want to focus on OL again. It will probably be tomorrow before I update. Maybe you or Jason can get to it first.
