Again, everybody knows Martz is a QB killer. The pont is the false starts, holding, whiffs and failed run blocking assignments. The guy has ability, but no football IQ and instincts. We shouldn't give up on him as a player, just as a starter. He simply needs more seasoning behind more polished players.

Talent and the level you achieve in life are separate things. He may be playing ST's because he's still on the floor, while Weems may be playing because he's at the ceiling. Never know what situations lead them both cheaply to the Bears. I'm just agreeing on the 1st RD talent statement in that he had great production out of college, along with great measurables.
-
He may be the first offensive HC that had a lopsided team toward the D side. LOL
-
I thought the same with Campbell. Maybe he has some insight. As far as the 1st round talent label goes, I think he's worthy. Heck, he was the 3rd pick of the 2nd round. Great size/speed combo too. Plus, he was highly productive in a run heavy offense. Agree on Roy Williams. If he shows up in shape, he makes the team. If he gets too winded to practice, cut his ass at the water fountain.(Better than Sanzenbacher)

I think Billick was their OC. Tice has already said there will be chip blocking with TE's and RB's releasing afterward. I really like that style, plus the fact they will allow Cutler to audible.(IMO-this will be a huge addition by subtraction) I'm honestly not as low on the OL as I let on. Just tired of the rhetoric from Lovie. IMO - it's all a smokescreen. OL or DL will be taken 1st in our draft. Either will be fine

A 1st and 4th for Forte would be a steal for us. I agree with your assessment in regards to Forte's future production and overall skillset. One thing I would note: is that we'd probably be better off "this year" with the picks. Bush isn't that far below Forte IMO and signing Bell and drafting a young RB early would make the stable better and stronger than last year. All while giving us a badly needed extra pick. I'm in! Just hope NE would be greedy enough to do it...

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...nsive-line.html ...The OL is OK. As a result, I have my very first avatar... Seriously WTF? These assholes better be lying. I get the continuity thing with getting another year to gell. I get the Martz thing and the schemes he ran. What I don't get is false start after false start, then a hold, then a whiff out of JaMarcus Webb. Our staff seems to get a boner for someone every few years for someone that doesn't belong on the field. Hopefully, it's just a smokescreen and I'm crying like a little baby for nothing. Of course that's what I said in 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007. (look it up)

Teddy says strong offer is on table for Forte....
Mongo3451 replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Here's to hoping he takes the deal and is happy. I'm not a big fan of tagging a guy twice. If he's not in the fold after the first tag, I'm looking at a contract or trade, because you have a pissed off unmotivated guy that has just earned a pile of cash. Who's to say he doesn't sign the tender and feign an injury?(All to prolonge his career) I don't think Forte is wired that way, but people change when they are disenchanted. -
It's called scouting. That's how you stay on top of them...

I agree that all of the above plus WR need a boost. I'll rate it like this: OL DE WR CB S TE If we can make improvements to half of these in the draft, it would be great.
-
I've yet to see a solid number on what the Bears have offered. Nor have I seen Forte's demands. Can anyone provide this info? I'm having a hard time believing they are that far apart.

Looks like a Greg Olsen clone. I'd take him if he slid to the 2nd.
-
3rd round?
-
I would consider someone like Louis raw, because he had moments where he looked unprepared, then average, then beastly. Webb simply looked unprepared and overmatched. A lot had to do with the positions they respectively played. But, it was mostly the Louis was ready to accept the challenge and Webb was not. Webb and Knox were victims of an incompetent GM/OC combo. Well see Lovie and Tice's level of guilt or deniabilty soon.
-
That's kinda what I was eluding to...
-
Question on Coples; wouldn't his type be more typical of the side he would play? Imo-he and Peppers are clones with Peppers being out of position for size and skillset you are referring to... Btw-like Martin to.
-
Is the 7.5 including rookie pool? If so, we are looking at 2.5. If not, that is great.
-
Thanks for carrying the torch Jason. Great job.
-
Definitely get what you are saying, but just do not agree. I simply don't like signing a guy to a FA contract that is not a position player. There are tons of undrafted players that would kill to have those positions and would be cheaper than dirt.
-
Yea, if they don't go OL in the 1st or 2nd, something is wrong. We just need more pedigree. I think your plan is solid...
-
Definately love the "Marshall Plan". Just hope he puts his past in the rearview mirror.
-
I keep hearing about him trying LT again. Personally, I think he has the tools to succeed, but hasn't had too much of a shot. Play pro's and con's, coming into his fourth year, he hasn't stayed too healthy. On the plus side, he's smart, has quick feet and pedigree. I want the Carimi to the left talk to stop. He is a prototypical right tackle. Plus, he makes a nasty companion to our nasty RG Louis. Just sayin', give the kid a shot. Make Webb the swing tackle and draft a nasty G and C. One to start, one to groom.

Dr. Mongo is in the house to help you once again with your obsession with height. The play you are referring to had nothing to do with height. Knox fell down, plain and simple. I had a great view of it from the endzone.
