Was there any talk on Peppers?
Ha, you may be right. It could be argued he was our best defender this year. But, dollar for dollar, he could be the worse value.

Making sense of the Cutler deal
I'm not sure why there is so much negativity surrounding this contract. Trestman and Emery have deemed Cutler worthy of this deal and Cutler took less to stay with the Bears. That is a win win. Look down the road at the Cutler effect and you will see that Brandon marshall probably won't be a dick when it comes time to re-up. Marshall may in turn have an effect on Jeffrey, etc... Cutler and the Bears by knowing and showing could make this off season very productive in retaining the talent we want to keep without losing the ability to sign other help. Oh, and we keep the #2 scoring offense intact. I'm glad they got it done so quickly too, as we all know everything hinged on Cutler.

With the 14th pick?????
I said it with the O for years. Fix the line first and the rest will follow. Done! So, you all know my thoughts on drafting D...

Was there any talk on Peppers?
I think if you look at again, he really wasn't in a position to do anything else.

Was there any talk on Peppers?
That may have been true in high school, not the NFL. Players have to do extraordinary things to make a difference. Peppers job on that play was to get there and disrupt. Check. Kuhn made a miraculous block, plain and simple. Rodgers even said so. Rodgers said they were fooled by the blitz and we're fortunate to have success on that play. If you want to blame anyone up front, take a pick of the rest of those that didn't get there.

Was there any talk on Peppers?
He was the only defender to earn his pay last Sunday

Signings-Cutty-Jennings-Slauson
It only stands to reason that he should make more than Stafford. I like that he's in the fold quickly.

If you were the GM, rebuild the defense
That's a great point. It even made me think a new coach trying to build a locker room would pay a premium for the work ethic and leadership.

If you were the GM, rebuild the defense
I have to admit two things: One, I don't know a lot about the 3-4 defense and secondly, I'm intrigued by the thought of it. What I do believe is that Wooten and Peppers are big and athletic enough to play 3-4 ends while I have reservations about Paea playing any role at his size / athletic ability. That's not saying he can't add girth to play the nose. I like McClellin and Bostic on the outside utilizing their speed Briggs and Williams look to be a fit in the middle, as they are surer tacklers and range and explosiveness not what it used to be. Not sure Green fits in this scheme unless he can move inside. In the secondary, I would really love to see Tillman move to safety or let him walk. He is simply a funnel corner and a liability if left alone. He's still a great tackler and very instinctive. I could multiple strips and picks for him next year. I like us to sign Jennings. He is a really good cover corner. Imagine the confidence he would have knowing Peanut has his back. I may be alone here but I think Conte is redeemable next year. He was better in 2012. Was his regression due to scheme and coaching or ability. Wright can go. He simply doesn't make enough plays for his aggressive nature.

BM says Jay will be back
Based on what I saw yesterday, Jay should be back.

If you were the GM, rebuild the defense
He could probably put on weight if we wanted him to too. No more need for light and fast, which is not how he plays anyway.

bears sign WR and cut DT
Coach said he had a personal matter.

interesting look at josh mccown
I simply think it's an awe shucks negotiating tactic. Heck, McCown probably doesn't even have a real agent. He'll sign at a price he and the Bears like and there won't be a bit of it in the media until it's done. I'm 99 percent sure of it.

That and if he's offered 2 years 6 million, he'll move his family for a couple of years of that. What kid wouldn't say "go for it dad"! Wink wink hint...

Rodgers In
It will also be a great test to see who wants to be on the team next year.

Rodgers In
Good! When we beat that ass, there will be no excuses. Bear down, it's Packer week! I'll be at Ditkas Saturday night at 630 if anyone wants to have a drink. Got seats on the 25, third level. I'm stoked!!!

Rex Ryan for DC next year??
To me that is coaching. It's all about timing and position and it just seems disjointed far too often.

That was the most disgusting display of football
Hate this on every level. Wow...

I've been saying it all season but two people must go
Agreed, but... Unless it's 3rd and 7,all downs are running downs against this team. Unfortunately, we have worse than SMC out there. Check some film on Bostic. He bites on every cut, counter and misdirection. I saw at least 8 run plays against Philly where he took himself so far out of the play he simply was walled off in traffic.

Santa, all I want for Christmas
[quote name='Alaskan Grizzly' As I pointed out previous, I feel that the team needs to start Cutler on. Sunday against the Packers. This is why he will start Sunday. His performance Sunday will determine his future. By default, we will have a clearer picture.
