One thing I gleaned, from the Bagent interview, was this quote when asked about the new process,"if I ever decide to get into coaching, that's how I want to do it".

Burden worries me. He's already missed everything due to soft tissue injury. If he was truly jaded because he thought he should have been a first rounder, you'd think he would show up in shape. On to the second rounders. I don't understand what has changed from previous years. 30 second rounders have not signed.

The "New" Kickoff Rule - One Year After
I miss the old kickoff scenario. That being said, I fully embrace the new. The safety of the players is the key for me. CTE is a huge personal fear of mine. I've had numerous concussions and suffer from the results. Although there is no test, other than autopsy, I truly believe it's part of me. The little things, like players that have their mouth guards dangling, drive me nuts. Mouth guards were initially made for teeth. Studies have found that they have an impact on concussion prevention. It's not a damn Christmas ornament.

I do like that Ben had praise for Dom Rob, Hyppolite and Monongai.

This is where I am. The most important things Ben can do is build trust, be authentically genuine, and command excellence on the field. The X's and O's will always be there.

Rhythm and the ability to see it before it happens is everything for a QB. Cutler, Trubisky and Fields didn't have either. There's hope for Caleb to have one or both of those traits. If not, see ya...

I absolutely would take Trapilo and Stewart over either of those guys.

How do you know he misread the board, let alone multiple times? The running backs didn't pop off crazy, but the OL sure did.

Caleb addresses the Media
Agreed. He even said he has to put his dad in check from time to time. I liked it. Now, time for Caleb to remove umm from his vocabulary.

Schedule release (building it as it comes out)
It's actually opposite. They talk about QB's manipulating with their eyes, not their head. If you watch video of "quiet headed" QB's like Brady, Burrow, Rodgers and Stafford, they don't move their heads much. The main time you do see them move their heads are when their initial read is outside in and they have jump to the opposite side of the field. That's usually determined pre snap. I'm normal situations, they wait until they pull the trigger to flip hips and head to the target.

He did, but it was usually a good decision. There are many instances of him going through progressions and being successful.

I don't agree. And honestly, I don't believe you are seeing what he's doing. Daniels head is very calm in the pocket and that's what you want. He scans with his eyes then flips his hips and throws. Not staring at his primary. Defenders are too smart for this and they didn't have Randy Moss to offset that. I know you won't agree with this assessment, but it's simply my opinion. Daniels did some fantastic things last year and I don't see a letdown this year.

That's a big reach of a statement. Neither are proven at their profession as of yet. Does it look good on paper? Hell yeah! Does it look good on the field? Haven't seen it yet. I very much agree we got it right, but I'm not betting a nickel on it until I see it happen. Been burnt too many times...

That's my kind of hype video. I really enjoyed the dialogue and forethought of how the draft would shake out. It shows a knowledgeable and disciplined plan. I feel that they hit on Loveland, Trapilo, Stewart, Hyppolite, Newman and Monongai. Burden and Frazier have something to prove, before I get high on them.

Battle at LT
Yea, the standard is either inside out or outside in, depending on the coverage call. Sometimes it's all right/left shoulder, again, depending on the call. They key is understanding the play call and executing. Run blocking is actually more complex. Sort of like a symphony with it's timing...

Bears select Luther Burden (WR) at Pick #39
Back to Luther Burden. I've read several articles lately that talk about why he fell to the second round. One article claims that he was consistently last in line to take reps on practice. Another said that he is pouty and/or mopey and coaches and other players had to help get his head straight. I'm not sure if it's boredom, maturity or physiological. Here's to hoping that a pro environment eliminates all doubt.

Agreed, they have a beast of an OL. That's why I didn't include them.
