Nail on the head on that one.

Hopefully, he makes it back to form so we can have the option to keep or trade, this off-season.

Undeniably the biggest pu$$y on the team last year.

Let me play "Internet Psychologist" for a minute.(Just for Cracker) Calling out team mates on the heels of getting his $$$$ Professing to be a minister in the making, yet having children out of wedlock? I'm no prude and am thinking he was tapping some fine young ass, but I'm positive the bible doesn't speak highly of it. Now he's a late for treatment and getting into it with the coach. Also whining about Bradley leaving? I wonder if that is who had the kid? Remember, this is the same Tommie Harris that questioned his own desire to play football a few years ago. I remember many of us debating what he may or may not do with his career after he got his big payday. I'm not judging the man, but I do see some warning signs of a man in a crossroad.

I wanted to get him too, but none of us wanted him at #4. I was hoping for a trade down and Johnson.

Weren't you one of the first in line at the Tampax machine after our loss to Carolina? Nothing like being a hindsight internet genius...
-
I hope our staff is smart enough to sit Tommie for another week or two. When feeling good, he is a beast. Idonije outplayed what Harris has done lately. Lovie, sit Tommie! It's looking like we can make a playoff push and a healthy Tommie Harris will go a long long way. We have enough average guys to fill his shoes right now, we don't need Tommie average.

Personally, I don't see how Kyle was on the bubble with you. If not for some crappy defense, Olsens fumbles and P'nuts penalty, we'd likely be undefeated. Kyle had 10 point leads and huge TOP advantage going into the 4th quarter of both losses. You'd think a shutdown defense would take it from there.

Sadly, it would have been of more benefit to him if he was found guilty. Now, he still has no accountabilty for being a turd.

The one I want to see is the "Button Hook" route by Hester. Drive your man upfield turn, grab and cut. If they can get that one to work, then they can do a "hook and go". Hester accelleration would make him a force at this play, especially devastating would be a "hook and go-out",where the reciever would take an angle toward the sideline as they were heading downfield. Harder for the safety to roll over. Hell, I'd venture to say Lloyd could run it as well.

It's the cover two principle. The DL is conditioned like a bunch of track athletes and are undersized. Look at the Colts and even Tampa. All played worse in the 2nd half. Fact is: Tampa lost it 1st, but we completely gave the game away with three horrible plays. 1) AP's block in the back(and it was a good call) 2) Davis wide open drop (almost like alligator arms) 3) P'nuts gaffe. (no f'n excuse) Game over. Our D gave it up, but theirs did too. (that's even)

I don't think it's as much camp Lovie as it is a combo of two things. 1) We don't rotate our subs well. 2) Why the F%&k are we wearing midnight blue when it's 90 on the field. Didn't Carolina make us wear dark last week when it was hot at their place? To me, it's that our staff is oblivious to forward thinking...

My assessment is this: On offense: They did enough to win this game. Our time of possession was obscene at one point. Like when we had a 10 point lead. Side note: Forte is a young horse, but at this rate they are going to run his dick into the dirt by mid season. On defense: We got NO push from our DL in the 2nd half. My thought is that we need to put Tommie on the shelf for a game or two. I’d rather have stud Harris than average Harris any day. They need to rotate more subs in the DL. The isolation play with Hunter on Stevens was idiotic. Not in a million years do you leave him on an island with him. The Tillman play cost us the game, period. (I admire the fight in him, but that was ball game!) Special Teams: D manning came up big, countered by AP’s crucial (and unnecessary) penalty. That was also huge as it was about a 30 yard swing in field position. Chance to be a hero (Gould) at 49 yards it’s a 50/50 for him. We win if he hits. All in all, back to back choke jobs make me want to vomit.

I just blew a nut over it!!!

Agreed on us stopping the run first. I would employ Url and Brown as a Hi/Lo shadow everytime AP touches the ball. Plus, Adams and Toeina should be active. What sucks is this... Minny is in the exact QB quandry we are in. So, we may have to overpay to beat out a division rival on the Free agent / Trade market / Draft to try to obtain a franchise QB. Bad thing is, they are more ready for than we are with OL, AP and Berrian in place.

Vote For Change: Bears Need to get off the Bus......Passing!
Mongo3451 replied to ParkerBear7's topic in Bearstalk
Fun question... My favorite offense to watch was the “Greatest Show on Turf”. Mike Martz took the world by storm and labeled a genius. Then, Marshal Faulk got old and Mike Martz lost his MENSA card. The longest lasting great modern offense was under Bill Walsh. He too was labeled a genius. Football genius, I agree. It’s odd though, this offense has not been great since Steve Young retired. Currently, I love the Colts offense. When healthy, it is as foolproof as any. Of course, Peyton Manning will make anyone better. The thing I like about that offense, is that it is so fundamentally sound. Their unique wrinkle is that the coordinator sends in a concept code, then the play is not called until the last seconds. Brilliant! Two QB’s in the NFL have the smarts to pulls that off. (Manning/Brady) Lastly, the type of offense I would truly love to see is the Norv Turner (triplets) offense. I just loved that offense, because they could do whatever they wanted to you. Get a tough yard, no problem because they had the most powerful OL I’d ever seen. Control the clock, no problem because they had that OL and a downhill runner that was solid every game. Third and long, no problem because their big receiver would murder a DB fighting for the ball. Play action, no problem as our TE is athletic and just released to the seam. Go deep, got that too. The reason I loved that offense is because it dictated to the defense at will. It also reminded me of the 83-87 Bears teams minus the strong QB. All great offenses start up front, then you find your franchise QB. Unfortunately, we are still short on the thought process, as JA and Lovie think otherwise. Our current O is a hold the fort type of offense. It’s good to only a slight degree. -
We out-rushed and passed the Panthers. Converted 40% of our 3rd downs and had no turnovers attributed to the QB. Yes, Ron Turner is a jackass for at least not running on that last 3rd and 1. He doesn't lose his job for that, even though he has done that before. This game comes down to penalties and Olsen, period.

Watching the game last Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised with the play of Josh Beekman. I never saw him pancake anyone, but his performance was solid. The main things I noticed were his quick feet and vision.(particularly when pulling) He's not the road grader type I like, but I think he's going to be a long term player for us. If you asked me about him three weeks ago, I woulld have been indifferent.

63% wins everytime, doesn't it.
-
Sorry, but that's just a jackass comment. Most on this board who have IQ's higher than a monkey thought it was great, both in words and "the expression". My vote is for classic!
-
That was the best game Ron Turner ever called. One thing I would like to see is our LB's coming more freely on blitzes. It seems like they always telegraph or get picked up. I do like how they were up in the box all night faking and moving back. Manning had very little time all night. I think mostly 3 step drops.

I was listening to Bill Polian after the game, because I live in the Indy area and thought he summed it up similarly. He said that the Colts knew what they were going to see before they saw it. But, the Bears simply executed the plan so well they couldn't do anything about it. He also went on to say that they simply were beat up by a more physical football team. One other thing he did note that really perked my ears up was the Super Bowl. He made comment of us missing Harris and Brown on defense and that the same offensive mistakes were NOT present in last nights game. Lastly, the main thing that got me was he gave our offense credit for winning the game, by saying the NFL standard for 3rd down conversions is around 40% and the Bears put 63% percent on them. Anytime you convert 63% of the time and rush173 yards, you win in the NFL. Period. I make no bones about who I think the best GM in the NFL is. I loved what he said about our team. If you know Polian, he is not a diplomat.
