Sorry, but that's just a jackass comment. Most on this board who have IQ's higher than a monkey thought it was great, both in words and "the expression". My vote is for classic!

That was the best game Ron Turner ever called. One thing I would like to see is our LB's coming more freely on blitzes. It seems like they always telegraph or get picked up. I do like how they were up in the box all night faking and moving back. Manning had very little time all night. I think mostly 3 step drops.

I was listening to Bill Polian after the game, because I live in the Indy area and thought he summed it up similarly. He said that the Colts knew what they were going to see before they saw it. But, the Bears simply executed the plan so well they couldn't do anything about it. He also went on to say that they simply were beat up by a more physical football team. One other thing he did note that really perked my ears up was the Super Bowl. He made comment of us missing Harris and Brown on defense and that the same offensive mistakes were NOT present in last nights game. Lastly, the main thing that got me was he gave our offense credit for winning the game, by saying the NFL standard for 3rd down conversions is around 40% and the Bears put 63% percent on them. Anytime you convert 63% of the time and rush173 yards, you win in the NFL. Period. I make no bones about who I think the best GM in the NFL is. I loved what he said about our team. If you know Polian, he is not a diplomat.

That was hard to miss. The interview was definately over.

I love football and there is nothing better than opening day. Hope springs eternal and all the work from the team and all of our bullshit from the board will come to light. But, remember one thing boys... This game is winnable! So grab your favorite beverage, cook your favorite meat on the grill and get ready to support your team. This is the day that we will find out what our team and staff are all about. It's gameday! Go Bears! No prisoners!!!

Agreed with one and two in order of importance. I would move 5 up to 3 and make number four be a fearless gameplan on D. Then, I would move 3 to 5.

One thing I'm surprised about is that they are opening the roof of the new stadium tonight. The weather is supposed to be perfect, but opening the roof will let a lot of the noise out. The Colts D will not experience the advantage they are used to getting from playing in the old RCA Dome which was regarded as the loudest stadium in the NFL. I expect both teams to be jacked up. The Colts will obviously have more confidence, offensive talent and home field. The Bears will have revenge and the element of surprise on their side. My hope is that revenge is a powerful motivator that will revive our defense. The key to me, is NOT playing scared. The Bears must call a fearless gameplan on defense, with a disciplined attack on offense. This game is very winnable if we don't let up and execute.

If that article is remotely true. The 4/40 million deal was a stroke of genius by JA. I believe Harris wanted a longer deal which would, in turn, demand a higher bonus. His contract will up at the tender age of 29 and we'll proceed again with a new mega deal or adios.

I'd start Favre if I were you.

Booker and Rashied are the only proven WR's on the team. Even though Booker may have lost a step, you know he is going to run his route 8.5 yards and fight for the ball. If he's not cutting in games, we have a different scenario.

Disagree twice. First - Metcalf was penciled in as starter in a position of very little depth. Until it is known he is beat out of a position, he is a lock. Second - We are already carrying an extra reciever. No way do we add a seventh. Disagree again twice. Once - on him benefitting from a new start. He had one of the most accurrate passers with one of the best OL's in the league to help him succeed. Add Randy Moss continually drawing double teams with Welker working underneath and this kid sucked bad enough to get cut out of his rookie deal?? Twice on him picking up the playbook anytime soon, as Hester has a good year and a half headstart.

Nice summary. It's my thought that Bowman is a keeper. With his size and speed, he may have been a FS in the making. Hopefully, he clears and we snag him for the practice squad. It will be irritating to me if we lose this guy, while JA holds a roster spot hostage for Williams, out of wounded pride.

Smoke screen it is.

Agree with all lines of thinking.

I think it's a ploy to get under Bears 88's skin.

Ouch! I hope that's all the negativity we hear from you, even if laced with sarcasm. LOL OK, back to being the motivational speaker for the group.
-
I like it only if he's 90% or better. I wouldn't mind Reuben for a year as well. He must not be recovered from his injuries as he would be a much better stop gap.
-
I like it too. If Orton's style of play is what they want for future years, he will need a big possession reciever.

My bad on the title gaff

All I have to say to all of this is: Why blame Babich? Everyone knows who's behind the collapse of our defense. It's not Babich. Remember, when Lovie let Rivera walk and said, what??? Yes, it was.... drumroll please... Trust me. It's all Lovie folks. I don't want to hear that he has two years remaining on his deal. If he's the problem, he has to go. Real management fires shitty coaches when they need to be fired. Oh wait, I hear the McCrackersky lovers coming out and saying the Bears aren't cheep. If we tank and Lovie stays, the Bears are still cheap.
-
The internet motivational speakers think Lovie has the team sandbagging for the Colt's. LOL!

Agree that we should not see our starters long in this game. Why ever listen to what Lovie says? First - the Patriots were 16-0 last year so they can do whatever they want in a pre-season game. Us not seeing a punter in the last 2 games does show signs of us sucking. Why, because going back to the Superbowl season, we can't get an opposing offense off the field. Cleveland crammed a 6 minute 60 yard drive down our starters throat to start the game. Followed up with a 70 yard 5 minute TD drive. Our D vowed to show some intensity and their words came up dryer than a popcorn fart. I guess they are saving it up for Manning, who owned them last time they played, as they are veteran and we should trust Lovie and the D when they say we have a good defense. It's not about W's and L's in the pre-season, it's about working the systems out and finding who your players are. Rant over. Here's to the regular season. I just hope the D finds some missing motivation.
