  1. Do you have any charts or links to the velocity numbers? I would like to compare that to QB's over the last two decades. Just for kicks.
  2. No to Chris Brown and Shawn Alexander. I want a young guy with a little fire in his belly. I don't think a couple of laid back vets are going to push or inspire Benson, nor will they be very productive. To get through our line, it's going to take the explosion only young legs produce.
  3. Modest contract with a little frontloading should do. Not 4 mil per year.
  4. Let's pull the trigger for JA! Hell, I'll do the draft too. We give AZ nexts years 2nd and 5th for Boldin. Followed by the draft 1) Chris Williams- OT 2) Chad Henne(1) or Joe Flacco(2)- QB 3) Matt Forte- RB 3) Chilo Rachal- OG 4) Owen Schmitt- FB 5) Adarious Bowman- WR Sorry, after I blew a nut I stopped drafting. Screw defense this year. We'll just pray for Mike Brown to stay healthy.
  5. I would love to get Williams. He seems to have all the qualities of a good LOT. My fear is that he'll be gone, leaving Otah. Otah IMO is a pure ROT. Now, here's a scenario for you all. If we don't get Williams, I'd really love trading down and drafting Otah and Sam Baker. Baker translates to LOT, but has questions. Being a former lineman, I'd love to have bookend tackles pay off in the draft. We'd be set for a decade and FINALLY be able to groom a franchise QB.
  6. It shows the sad state of the Bengals. To have a player strike the head-coach, only to cover it up and say it never happened. No wonder their locker room is a mess. As a player, I would never respect that coach again. I think Brown is the owner/GM there. Kinda reminds me of the Mikey days. The Bengals will be losers until the team develops a chain or command. As of now, the inmates run the asylum.
  7. Mike Brown starting 19 games this year!
  8. They did, but that may have been after preliminary negotiations with his agent demanding too much. Let him test the waters and come back cheaper. IMO - If his shoulder is OK he has a good year left in the tank.
  9. If you think Fitzgerald will become available, you should agree with Terra Tor more often. Otherwise, please come back to the light.
  10. Dude, he's like the Dad in the stands(you know, the one with the matching mullet) of his eight year olds baseball game; yelling throw the heater, throw the heater! Or pushing his Mom over in a potato sack race because losing is unnacceptable. It would truly suck to be a fan with this perspective, knowing the season is doomed before it starts.
  11. , and then Brendon said on CSN last night that he was going to call JA today to make sure he wasn't going to offer him a deal, so I really like the statement JA has put out this year. "We will try to keep you in the fold, but don't f@*k with us!" Brendan ran his mouth in the media about how much he should get paid. JA's statement to the press??? Oh, that was the dialtone Brendans agent got. LOL! Glad Brendan got paid. Even gladder we didn't do the payin'.
  12. I think you missed the point Terra. It's not Rex V Kyle. It's the staff blindly handing the job to Rex again. Funny, yet true quote though!
  13. Is this a slip up? I can see a FA asking, "who's throwin' the rock?" Hmmm...
  14. Bullshit! I guess it's all individual opinion... You can't tell me, when we unexpectedly won the division a few years back that that was NOT a successful season and you weren't juiced for the next year. There are years when the promise of next year is a successful season. That's just they way it is in the NFL. Ask a Lions fan, if a season is successful if they make the playoffs. (That made me laugh) Sorry I said that. I will agree that last season was a huge failure. But, if we get back to the playoffs this year we should feel good about where we are heading.
  15. You have to draft offense to be truly bad at it. I simply think the philosophy they take is: Keep the pipeline fresh with young defensive talent. JA has simply ignored OL in the draft. You can't just hope to get lucky on picks in the later rounds year after year. Higher round picks need to be made, especially at OT. His lone pick under the 3rd round is a starter on a playoff caliber team. Stupid us for letting him walk.
  16. Well said, AZ54. I'm still holding out hope, that we hit the jackpot at LT.
  17. If we show interest, we are not drafting them. That's JA's way.
  18. Al Davis gets nuttier every year. It's time the NFL look into revoking his franchise. He's George Steinbrunner without a medthod.
  19. "Poison Pill" is something in the contract that makes it difficult to impossible for his current team to sign him. Like frontloading the contract when the team is strapped for cap space.
  20. I totally loved it when JA got two 1sts for that pick. Then struck out on both. I liked the picks when he picked them though.
  21. This is why I want a LT. You can't develop a franchise QB without one.
  22. Here's where I think you missed it. If we have these future stars locked up, we have the leverage. There is a huge difference between a player bitching with 1 year and 3 years left. As a GM, you now have time to figure out what is best for the future of team, player and cap wise. It also means a lot when you tell a player they have security within the organization and they are valued. Also, in good faith, you have already payed a little forward with the player and agent. Call it investing in the future.
  23. Moss yes, Pep no. I saw talk of this on ESPN this morning. I think it's a power play on Moss' part. My guess is NE is low-balling like they/we always do and he's playing his hand. If I knew Pep was really back to his old self, it would be a no brainer. But, peoples knees aren't meant to do what his did. That was an uglier than usual injury and he hasn't been the same.
