  1. If anyone is interested in going to the combine, here's the info.
  2. Long read, but it says everything... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39219170/chicago-bears-quarterback-justin-fields-caleb-williams-drake-maye-no-1-pick-2024-nfl-draft
  3. It depends on the extent of the injury. A MRI will tell the story. The good part is Penix will be better protected in the NFL than anywhere. Any knee injuries you see with NFL QBs anymore is usually fluke.
  4. This is why I want him to trade out of the number one pick. If he can swap that with a team he feels will suck, he can possibly get us the number one pick again. There are two players in this draft that I covet, MHJ and Bowers. If can can get a haul, plus one of the above, I would call it a win.

    Bears Defense

Dexter has a lot of work to do. An off season of chasing chickens would do miracles for his career. The more they can do to loosen his hips the better. He has God given country strength and he relies on it to make plays. That is definitely good enough to be a solid piece of the puzzle. He also plays with his pads square to the line of scrimmage, ass he rarely gets turned. That is great in the run game. If he can adapt to sinking his hips and getting off quicker, sky is the limit. Some people can't do it while others can.. If he can't, I'd have him gain 15 pounds and become a 1T that can generate pressure.
  6. I did not, so I watched a compilation. He throws a lot of passes short, but his arm strength is there. Lemme sober up and take a good look.
  7. Since they were chanting "we want Justin", at the game yesterday, I thought I'd give him an all offense draft.
  8. Agreed the math is not the important issue, but your reply is still off point. Commenting the obvious, multiple thousand yard receivers is not a new thing. So if we get a stud receiver and our QB throws for 4K yards, another 1300 yard reciever is possible regardless of attempts.
  9. You might want to rethink your math. It doesn't factor in increased pass attempts and undetermined successes.
  10. I wish I could have watched the game. I listened to Thayer and he's usually spot on. He said Justin looked really good the first three quarters and questioned whether the fourth quarter stuff is Getsy or Fields.
  11. Congrats Adam! I just lucked out and won my money league with Kmet getting me nothing.
  12. Keep the comments coming. Game is blacked out here. Listening to Thayer and Joniak.
  13. Seems unrelated. Sounds like he wants a contract and business sucks sometimes...
  14. I heard something pretty damning on the radio this morning. There is audio out there of the USC players celebrating and saying "we're a team now" during their bowl game without Williams. There were also other things heard, rumblings about selfishness and ego. I can see where it's easy to be that way in today's atmosphere, but a humbling must happen before he can succeed at the pro level. Given our past, I'll go the George Pickens and and Jalen Carter route and let him be someone else's problem.
  15. If everything remains the same schematically, 100% yes. If you look at how quickly he picked up the offense and executed the things Justin still hasn't, year two of Bagent should show growth at a way faster rate. What Bagent couldn't process was how NFL quality DB's close down a window. You just don't see that from four years at Shepard. He'll also continue to gain arm strength with pro coaching. Year two of Bagent will be better than what we've seen of year three of Justin. (That's W's and eye test)
  16. End of day; if you win, you are loved.
  17. Williams, undoubtedly has ridiculous arm talent. His lack of humility scares me a little.
