  1. Here's mine. I don't think we'll take three OL, but the trade and draft fell really well. Names will rise and fall over the next several months, but something similar can play out.
  2. Been thinking about this for a long time. What I see is close, but not solid. On defense, the Dexter experiment at 3 tech should be over. He simply doesn't have the instincts to get to the QB. What he does have is great functional strength. I put him next to Tez as a 1/2 tech. Start eating buddy. For now, Walker is our starting 3 tech. We need pressure inside and out, so free agency and draft should concentrate on 3 tech and edge. On offense, we have Jones, Jenkins, Kiran and Wright as known keepers. Shelton, Pryor and Kramer really do nothing for me, but Shelton is the easy choice to keep. Let the others fight it out. So, I would absolutely draft left tackle as the highest priority of team needs. Let Braxton fight. Keep Jenkins, but definitely have someone that wants his job ready to take it. This comes in the form of another high draft choice that plays IOL. Let the rookie develop into a job taker. I'm seeing Shelton at OC until that rookie develops, as I'm not seeing anything in the free agent market. Poles blew it this year. At RG, I see a free agent or Jones or Kiran. It's coming down to two draftees and at least one FA on both sides of the ball. I think we all see the same thing. One last thing that could help the DL is if the MLB would put his hat in a gap like he's supposed to. When is the last time you saw Edmunds make a play in the hole? It's always Edwards and Sandborn. One last item for the OL is Caleb taking the play in front of him instead of hero ball. He's sacked himself a good forty times this year. He's tough but won't survive it.
  3. Other than left tackle, center is a crucial upgrade. It's too early to look at draft sites for centers. Some of the smaller schools have their best player at left tackle. Most of the time that player will not translate to NFL left tackle, but will have all the mental and athletic traits to play the interior. The tackle you mentioned is a perfect example. I believe he played center, early in college, and moved out due to talent. If we can find a guy like that, with a HS wrestling background, we can strike gold. I would definitely sign Tevin, unless he hates living in Chicago, he won't be overly demanding. He's rated as the eighth best free agent interior player. Someone will want him.
  4. Agreed. Parity is king in the NFL. The difference between winning and losing are the little things like; penalties, turnovers, execution and coaching. We are close on talent, but coaching is really lacking.
  5. He's different. Marshawn Lynch's contact balance with speed.
  6. I have a theory with nothing but circumstantial evidence. We've all heard the rumors of McCaskey meddling. They didn't hire Ditka, but I imagine he scarred them for eternity. After the Superbowl, he was too powerful to get rid of. Once free agency hit and Mikey wouldn't pay anyone, I can imagine all hell broke loose at headquarters and their was no getting away from it. Even though they should never have a say on a head coach, I imagine they always do. And they never want anything like Ditka again. Mr Warren has some convincing to do...
  7. Tremaine Edmunds is this year's Eddie Jackson. No physicality from your MLB is terrible. He's always hustles to get near the tackle though. Poser...
  8. Please, no. Parsons is a head case.
  9. Why do we say that a defensive or special teams head coach isn't as good of a fit for developing Caleb? Harbaugh developed Lamar. McDermott developed Allen. What was Andy Reid? What was Belichick? The best thing we can do is hire a HC that can lead. A HC that has great coordinators in their pocket. I don't care if the offense plays so well that the OC leaves. Same with DC. Do we not think that defensive coordinators need to understand offenses in order to stop them? If the OC leaves too, that means Caleb made it! Next man up for OC. Keep rolling. If Vrabel wants to come here, hire his ass. At minimum, Josh McDaniel is available. Jon Gruden may take an OC job to get back in the game. Hire the right coach, regardless of his specialty.
  10. Hopefully, it's a pleasant surprise. Maybe Kiran will show some promise.
  11. Vrabel and Daboll t shirts are being printed as we speak! I'll also add that Poles has done an OK job. I still don't believe anything out of Halas Hall. With strong leadership from the HC, I believe it will make Poles a stronger partner in building the team.
  12. I remember the day we hired Flus, Dan Dakich called in to Waddle and Silvey and said, "we would rue the day we hired him". Waddle had a hard time swallowing it, but Dakich held strong. Dakich has a show based in Indy.
  13. I heard the article by Dan Weiderer is 14 pages long. I tried to read it and they want money. If anyone has subscription and can paste the article, that would be cool.
  14. All of the above. We already know they are stupid. We already know they can't keep their beaks out of football decisions. History tells us they are cheap when it comes to coaches.
  15. We can hope Rodgers pulls off a couple wins and the Saints win another. That may pit them against each other.
  16. I like the thought process. The only thing I would not do is trade Stevenson. His ceiling is high, especially with a better leader as coach.
  17. BPA at need. I don't care if Jesus in cleats slips from the top five to the second round, we have to fix the trenches.
  18. Heard today that Poles was blindsided by the hiring of Warren. I guess he accepted the job being told he had full autonomy in personnel matters. I don't think the NFL establishment would hold it against him if he resigns. They all know the owners that meddle and those that don't.
  19. I don't think any of those teams are looking QB. Indy has Richardson, ATL has Penix. Both are too young to give up on. Steelers possibly, but Russ is getting it done.
  20. It actually can. Take defense for example. If we draft a dominant EDGE to pair with Sweat, the pass rush finally gets home. Or one of our current DE's become above average, while we draft a dominant 3T and move Dexter to the 1T. You could have improvements at the positions with one addition. Same with offense. Draft a dominant OT, imagine if Kiran ascends to starting right tackle, Wright goes to RG, Jenkins stays healthy, Jones completes with Jenkins and we somehow sign it draft a great center. So, one DL and two OL can make for really good changes. All stars would need to align. We are closer than we were three years ago, but not happening fast enough to save jobs. Good coaching can save it all. (See Harbaugh)
  21. Our underperformers are the owners. The reason they built castles on high ground is because shit flows down stream. If the GM can't hire and fire or choose the best coach, because of money, the rest is doomed. (Unless you luck into a great young coach) This doesn't exonerate Poles, but it is like treating cancer three feet away from the tumor.
