  1. I honestly couldn't imagine a better situation for a QB than for the bears to draft at #1. Rarely, if ever, does a #1 pick come into a situation where the talent up front is on the rise and to have established skill players. If the team plays hard for Flus and shows improvement throughout the season, he may have a case to stay. If Justin fails and they replace him with Bagent, then Bagent thrives, that's good for Getsy. If Bagent looks like Brock Purdy, look the F out, because we trade those top picks for 8 picks within the first three rounds and we are instantly deep everywhere. Somebody wake me up. I must be dreaming again...
  2. Agree Justin is not it. Flus may not be it either, but I want things to be concrete before firing and scrapping people. I really like Poles. It may be that I'll always be an OL at heart, but I really believe his way will build something if it's allowed to go to fruition.
  3. Rome wasn't built in a day guys. We all expected improvement, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm impatient too. This team has been snake bitten with injuries and the Nate Davis ordeal. I think once the OL is intact for a few games, we will see what the team looks like. If it's shit then, then it's shit. Not yet.
  4. We should come up with a hybrid ranking system. There's Aikman, PFF, QBR and another one that escapes me. I think a system should factor in, first downs and have weighted points for sustained drives.
  5. If anyone is getting discouraged with this rebuilding process, look no further than the Detroit Lions. Our own David "jump cut" Montgomery cut loose for a massive 3.6 YPC and 3 TD's against the hated Pack. The Lions built it from the trenches up and don't have a big name QB in Jared Goff. We are in year two while they are in year four. Patience is key. Our new QB, next year, will have the supporting cast he needs. The future is still bright, talent wise...
  6. Seriously, the players hear that crap at the stadiums, clubs and restaurants. Negativity is a slow destroyer of positivity. It's demoralizing. DJ Moore couldn't believe the fans were booing in the second quarter. I'll also say, today's players are way too sensitive, as compared to those of the past. It's not even close.
  7. How bout we just blame Bears fans while we are at it? Every game I've ever been to, the fans are the most negative I've ever witnessed. It's depressing to spend all of that money and hear all of the negative shit. Last game I went to, I almost got into two separate fights "with fellow Bears fans", over their crap attitudes.
  8. His arm slot is low. That's why he has a hard time throwing over the line. Drew Brees was the best short QB at throwing over the line due to his extremely high release. Drew would literally stretch himself vertically while throwing to overcome it. Fields makes no effort to raise, combined with the slowest release in the NFL. That fearfully combination creates a huge window that he cannot hit. It happens to be the area where most QB's make their money. If you imagine a pocket and draw a line from fields to each furthest blocker, fifteen yards beyond that radius is the area he fails to hit. It's a fatal flaw.
  9. Definitely need to see if the line gels first. Someone mentioned that we can't evaluate anyone else on offense because of Fields. If Bagent can come in after week 8, that gives Jenkins 4 games back, making the other four better. Side note: Borom acted like he wants to be a starter again from his play on Sunday.
  10. That's why I think they wait till week 8.
  11. Draft Caleb Williams with #1 Trade the number 2 Turn that into Brock Bowers TE and Jared Verse EDGE In the second round Kingsley Suamataia OT and Sedrick Van Pran C BPA after that... I'm depressed that I'm even fantasizing about next year already...
  12. I don't think he can. His release is way too slow and it's a low release point. He gives the DL too much time to get a good luck on the ball for batting balls down. And two tenths of a second is an eternity for DB's.
  13. They haven't had that since Ditka. You might be onto something.
  14. This is where we are headed. Caleb Williams is generational, so he is a must. I had mentioned in another post, that someone will be arrogant enough to think they can fix Fields, so there's a trade. There is a ton of WR talent on this draft. It's being proven proven that elite receivers are not required to have a great passing game, so trade the other first rounder to someone that wants to move to get one of the other top QB's. A center, guard, 2x edge and WR are a must this off season. We already have 5 picks in the first 4 rounds, so trading a first rounder will give us 8 in the first 4 rounds, with 5 being in the first 3. This off season can finally be the one that provides stability for a new franchise QB, with good depth and youth. We are also sitting at 111 million in cap space next year, second only to the Patriots. We have options galore, again.
  15. I'll give him till week 8.
  16. I'm with you. Best case scenario is to trade Fields to someone arrogant enough to think they can fix him. Sean Payton and Denver is an excellent choice. I'm convinced the issue is Flus, because we suck on offense and defense. Commentators and the old eye test says that QB's can bake a cake waiting for one of our front seven to get home. Fields stating that he feels over-coached starts at the top. Our D is not playing fast and instinctive equally to the offense. Since it is both sides, it has to be the top. I wasn't joking about bringing in Lovie in to help the defense. This staff has ruined Justin. My days of seeing cerebral coaches come in and change the world is over. I like guys that have lived and live for football. Let the players be individuals and live by their own merits. Most football players are complete type A dicks that don't need a HITS principle to be great at what they do. Sharks respect sharks and Flus ain't no shark. I remember when we hired Flus and the boys on ESPN1000 had Dan Dakich on the show because of remarks he had made on the Flus hiring. Dan was not shy about letting Carmen and Jurko know what a huge mistake the franchise made. It's clear the players have already tuned this bullshit out. The Bears traditionally don't fire coaches in season, but hopefully Poles is a new breed that has autonomy to do what's right. Damn this crap sucks. Rant over...
  17. The nature of the offense has been revealed. He tainted the water fountains with estrogen!
  18. I'm starting to think this is a Flus thing. Robotic play from literally everyone. Our youthful defense looks slow as hell. Nobody is injured on the front seven and they can't make plays. May be that over coaching that Fields is talking about. Poles needs to insert himself into this and assess the inner workings...
  19. Hell, bring in 54 to teach Edmunds how to play like 54. Brisker gets hurt because the linebackers aren't doing anything...
  20. Edmonds and Edwards have been worthless in their three game tenure. Maybe Flus can hire Lovie to run the D...
  21. Remember when Russell Wilson was an annual MVP candidate? Now, he's not so good. Remember when Tua was a bust? Now? Geno Smith? Let's send the positive vibes on game day! Things can change...
