Breaking News: Alan WIlliams' house and HALAS HALL raided
Mongo3451 replied to BearFan PHX's topic in Bearstalk
The team has said nothing on support of him. Nothing. 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 could have garnered him a leave of absence. 3 would not be handled so discretely.(he did have a connection to the Colts players, as he was their DB coach) Think of a scenario that would make you a pariah to your long time friends and co-workers, where they don't even wish that you get the help you need or are praying for you or that you will be missed. Why would they need his computers? Halas Hall has been supportive of many egregious mistakes from players and coaches in the past, yet they are distancing themselves with this one. It's stinks and it's gonna come out ugly. -
No you don't, because you are cherry picking. No GM hits on even 80% of the draft. He has drafted very solid pieces. None of these guys jump out of swimming pools like drafts of the past. He's trying to draft football players that will stick and build a good locker room. Nobody criticized his draft last, because of you remember, he turned water into wine. Velus was the hot button, the rest of the draft was solid. How many other GM's didn't draft Brock Purdy? Poles is building a solid base. Nothing he has done has jeopardized the future the way other GM's have. He simply making up for lost ground by fixing other peoples blunders.
-
You lost me on that one. Poles seems like the antithesis of that. Darnell Wright was what we needed. If Poles made a mistake in this draft, it would be that he didn't draft an OG/OC with one of the high picks. Poles understood we needed major help for Justin, so he traded for Claypool and drafted Velus. They look to be mistakes. Was DJ Moore, Dexter, Wright, Brisker, Stevenson, Jones, Pickens, Johnson, Edmunds, Gordon, Sanborn and Bagent a mistake? I think he's brought us solid people for a base. Getting Justin right is still the key. He doesn't have much control over that...

I'm still praying the ugly I'm hearing isn't true...?????? -
So we've entered the acceptance phase again...? ??????

I'm going to cut Justin some slack for a few games. Let's get the OL mostly back in week five. Hopefully, the DB's get back as well. Justin fired the flare by admitting he's a little overwhelmed. Hopefully his his teammates take pieces of his Superman Cape and let him know it's not just him and get after it.

I heard that an agent discretely came to Halas Hall to get his laptop. That's not necessarily a raid, if even true. -
Interesting Press Conference from Fields Today

Definitely trying to force him. I get that they want him to learn it, because he needs to. But, please don't shackle him to the point of messing with his head. I can also see where the coaches are on a timetable to gauge if Justin is the QB of the future. So much pressure and so little time... -
Interesting Press Conference from Fields Today

Flus was interviewed and responded to Fields comments. One thing that stuck with me was, "you have to pass from the pocket to win in the NFL". Looking back at every Superbowl winning QB, they ALL pass well from the pocket. -
It's a combo of what AZ and Adam said. If we can run 30 and pass 30, that is the ticket. I want to see 8 pass attempts over twenty yards. It would nice to hit three of them and fantastic if it's more. Gotta throw deep to get the defense outta the box.

The rumors are terrible out there. I pray they are not true. -
I wouldn't. Wright is a true RT and is still learning, week to week. A move hinders his development. Borom can hold his own with a little chip, here and there.
-
I wonder if that's why he whiffed on that sack Sunday. It seemed pretty egregious. I hope it's nothing more than a stinger. I've had them. If not treated properly they will linger.

Speculation is out there, but I choose not to entertain the thought of it until I here it officially. And if true, it would make a friend cry. -
The answer on Fields is much simpler than what the defense is doing. He can't see in milliseconds.

Great summary. That's why stats should only be used as reference material. The eye test always wins.

Yes. If we hit 7-7, the hard read will still be Justin and how he is trending. Obviously, any QB will be able to succeed better next year, due to us having a great cap situation and an arsenal of picks. Imagine if Justin fails, Bagent thrives, Carolina finishes last and we get a top ten pick. That Carolina pick would being a monster haul.
-
He did too...?
-
I think that's why Flus gave Williams a mysterious day off. We still got no sacks or picks. And got gouged for two huge plays from Mike Evans. Our DB's were supposed to be a strength and are now decimated with injury. Our depth is not good, which is indicative of a lower level roster.

I already bet the line before it goes up...

Couldn't get the game at home so we went to a local spot. Several times, fellow Bears fans were imploring Justin to throw the damn ball. He is simply too damn nonchalant. It should be 123 throw or 123 switch then throw, then run or throw away. At least 4 of the sacks were on Justin today. He would actually be better if they, simply, told him who to throw to every play.
