  1. I've never trusted Jenkins. He's a beast on the field, but...
  2. Leatherwood's technique is so lazy. I can't believe he won the Outland trophy. Way too much leaning and not enough foot and punch energy.
  3. I called in to the Waddle and Silvey show today to talk about Bagent. I made a case for him to be the number 2 based on the poise and execution. The reasoning for why, was that he has the best chance to make Justin better, because what he does best is what Justin does worst. It would give Justin a chance to see it more if Bagent was getting the #2 reps. To my shock, Waddle called my comment "astute". Bagent has been a winner everywhere he's been. He was also getting recruited through the transfer portal and turned it down to finish his career at the school that gave him the chance. He ended up throwing for over 17000 yards and was the Division II Athlete of the Year.
  4. After revisiting Saturday's game, I went from saying Bagent looked good, too now saying he looked really good. The kid has won everywhere he's been. There are knocks on his arm and footwork on the scouting sites, but I saw none of it. His release is very fast and Saturday he was pinpoint accurate. I'd like to see him early in the last pre season game to gauge how he looks against starters. As of now, his debut looked Brock Purdy-esque.
  5. Agreed. The patient style is there. After that, it's quick feet and violence.
  6. A few notes from the Colts game. Pickens, Johnson and Dexter are legit. I love the way Pickens plays low and scrapes down the line. He's in every play almost. Johnson was so patient with his runs, then boom.he runs like a seasoned vet. Dexter will not not be moved. If I ever see him moved backwards, it will take three people. He is bull strong. It was also good to see him in the Colts backfield a lot tonight.
  7. Gotta tell you, he looked really good. Relaxed and delivered good play fakes. Passes were on the money in tight places. PJ Walker looked like hot garbage. We left after the halftime show, so not sure how he finished.
  8. It's phenomenal. The roof was open too, so that was cool. My son got tix from his business that were really nice. Please Bears, continue the move out of Soldier Field...
  9. The only reason I care, is that I wanted to see him play in person. Selfishness aside, it's probably a good move after two strong joint sessions with the Colts. My guess is that he plays some next weekend.
  10. Fields is not playing tomorrow. Kinda ticks me off...
  11. I may be a little fired up, but I'll try...
  12. The more I see Dexter, the more I see a 2 tech. He has the natural instincts of a run stopper. I know a lot of college training taught him read and react, but an NFL 3 tech does not have the luxury of time. I'll be looking for more of him in the backfield this weekend. On the other hand, Pickens has all the aggressiveness of a 3T. I like both of these guys, but so far I'm wrong about the former.
  13. I would love that. It is also Justin's strength...
  14. I couldn't find a ticket, but I'll be at the game...??
  15. Proverbs 27:17 proclaims: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”. This simple statement has been a calling for all these years to understand that no one is alone. That in order to make yourself better, there is a mutual benefit making others better through mentorship, follower-ship, and leading.
  16. I'm kicking myself right now. I live 25 minutes from Colts camp and I failed to look into getting tickets for the scrimmages. They are free too. Time to hit my contacts...
  17. Swifty saw the same thing I did, after review. He did a good job showing the angle of his back. One thing he failed to objectively observe was that Dexter was, indeed, slow off the snap. He looks to be reading, as he was taught in college. IMO, that's not a bad thing, as long he adjusts. I'm also not overly concerned about the pad level yet, as he only needs to drop a couple of inches. Are 6'6 he is always going to be a little higher and that is ok of his leverage and strength is hard to deal with. He has been compared to Jalen Carter on this site. Carter is different on the next level.
  18. After thinking about it, I don't think Velus makes the 53. His football instincts just aren't there.
  19. I think pre season is important to develop brain mapping and muscle memory against different athletes.
  20. This is from The Athletic. Looks spot on... https://theathletic.com/4772928/2023/08/14/chicago-bears-roster-projection?source=user-shared-article
  21. Wow, I'm a sarcastic bastard and he fooled me. Getting old I guess...?
