  1. Listening to ESPN1000 today, they brought up a report from Silvey, a couple months ago, that claimed several sources from Halas Hall say that Claypool does not prioritize football. He can still create his own narrative, but he has to work against his reputation and for himself now. I believe it's to the point where he earns a two or three role as a starter or simply gets cut. They aren't going to put up with half assed with an up and coming team.
  2. To clarify my statement from yesterday, because it can be taken wrong. What I want to see is a world where people walk through it colorblind when it comes to viewing people. Experience, education, skill and character should be the underlying qualification for advancement of any kind, not the good ol boys club.
  3. I truly hope that the mention of color does not exist before I breathe for the final time...

Amen to that. I remember 1984 and attending IU. I talked so much Bears smack and got owned by the Redskins. Next year was a different story...??

He could be a good bargaining chip at trade deadline.
  6. Fields and the other receivers already know if Claypool has put in respectable effort or not. If it's bullshit, Fields will make sure he gets his come-uppins. It's come to the point where it is messing with other people's money.
  7. They can say what they want. He throws and runs better than Jackson and Hurts, who are deemed superstars. All Justin needs to do is execute better.
  8. We know what we have cooking. It's just hard to temper expectations when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We're still about 5 pieces away and they may already be on the team...
  9. I gotta stop watching this stuff or I'm gonna think we are doing something good...?

    Gotta Run

Play action is an offensive linemans' best friend. First, they get grind down the little speedy edge rushers. Secondly, they get the added benefit of the element of uncertainty it places on the pass rush. On the other side of the field, the added talent at DT and LB should prevent some of the gashing our D took in the play action game. Baby steps...

    Gotta Run

This is my favorite type of offense. There is nothing better than to watch momentum build in a game that you are physically dominating. I love winning the time of possession, no matter the outcome. If we can average just two more first downs per game, that would equate to about three minutes of TOP.
  12. That's a fact, sir.
  13. One point to ponder is that Vegas factors in where the betting money is coming from and who the betting is on. With that being said, I think we'll see most of these games move a point or two.
  14. Bingo! The days of the oversized front four are over, unless they are agile as hell. If we can replicate the athletic big guys NYG had with their NASCAR package, that would be our best chance this year.
  15. As of now, we are a 2.5 point favorite to beat the Packers opening day. That means they would be favored by .5 at a neutral site. How do y'all feel about that?
  16. I just read that we are the youngest division, by far, with 15 players 30+. The Patriots, as an example in contrast, have 15.
  17. While I agree with most of what you said, your floor has only happened four times in franchise history. What makes Justin and his supporting cast better than those of the past? I'll stand with being thrilled with 3500 and 25...
  18. That would be great. I would be thrilled with 3500 and 25. My guess is the running game will hit for 2700 and 20. With about 20 field goals, we should average 22pts a game, with bonus points from the D.

100%. I don't think any of us doubts the Bears are going to be greatly improved. 3-14 was no joke. Sure we were in some games and had a chance. On the other hand, truly believe teams slept on us. Not this year; so a tight game game against the Eagles should lead to another tight game against the Eagles with the same outcome.(We improve, so they use a little more of their A game on us) As an up and coming team, they'll have to learn how to close out the big games. That also means they'll have to earn the respect of the officiating crew, as the good teams usually get the most breaks. This will be a good growth year with some really hard to swallow losses, due to them whooping ass in the process.

    Love that dude
  21. I'm with you. I think he will be the biggest steal of the entire draft. His slow "get off" was due to him being asked to read before going. He has every tool required to be a monster. Not one bit of his size is manufactured either. With his frame, he can easily carry 20 more pounds of muscle and lose any speed. He'll have a learning curve and eventually be a plus starter.

I see us as 3rd place in the division. Too many young guns need to become seasoned vets before we contend for the division. That's why I stated Justin would require a big jump for us to contend for the North. I really hope I'm wrong. The talent and depth is night and day from last year. There will be a great deal to talk about this year.
