Disagree. If a 3rd is the offer and he wants to draft his QB, then a third it will be. Also, it's not disrespectful to trade a guy to give him a chance elsewhere, no matter the price. Lastly, respect had no bearing on this decision. It's about what's best for the team. And it's not best to keep Justin while your new QB is developing, because Justin has the locker room. And if respect does come into play, you have to respect the future more than the past these days and especially this situation.

No. Poles said he'd have to be blown away by a QB prospect before he would replace Fields. That being said, he hasn't had the chance to be blown away by the big three, unless you count interviews. Therefore, the decision on Fields has yet to be made. I think we would all be disappointed in Poles if he didn't perform his due diligence.

Ryan Bates is obviously another stop gap acquisition. He plays C/OG. He wasn't good enough to start for Buffalo to so he isn't good enough for us. In comes Harbaugh: he says McCarthy is a player and his combine backed it up. He was bigger and had a stronger arm than anticipated. JJ also blew teams away with his interviews. That being said, here it is...

I just didn't see something like this on the horizon. Teams usually don't trade for depth pieces. I don't hate, but it threw me. Then, why did the Bills choose to trade him now after they paid him the signing bonus last year? It's something you don't often.
