  1. I'm my big money league, we keep 14, our league has one more starter. Both worked out ok, but I got killed with injuries last year. I probably put 7 on IR last year.

    Roster Depth

Whoa! Pump the brakes on the kool-aid train fellas. The year is still gonna be 2024 for the playoff run. Unless Justin has a meteoric year, we won't even contend for the NFC North. Sorry for being a buzz kill, but that's what friend are for, right?
  3. I really hope so. This year will tell. Nice analogy...
  4. The only reason I didn't voter for Field's is because we won't learn anything in camp...
  5. I was lucky enough to coach for a few years. It was a great honor. The young men remember...

    Help

    That's great news!
  7. I played HS football in central Indiana in the early 80's. I had scholarship offers to a few Division II schools, but turned them down because I didn't think my body could take the punishment. Had a fractured neck as a sophomore, so I truly think it was wise not to take college hits. Tried rugby at IU and quit after one week. That hurt more than football ever did.
  8. I took Stink's comments to be proactive. He's basically stating that it's going to happen, so get some thick skin. The DL are better athletes than you, so work to be perfect, because you are going to need it. Of course I played OL, so a Legend like him resonates with me. Maybe that's why I heard the message differently.
  9. My thoughts on Schlerith's comments were football based only. I get what he is saying from an offensive line perspective. From a professional/private industry perspective the criteria are more clear and validated. Football is not a science, with too many variables to quantify. I recall a game that I got called out for that wasn't even my fault, but it didn't look that way to the observers. My teammate missed the assignment switch, that looked to be mine. The coaches even thought so, until I defended myself according to their game plan. I've since been vindicated, but it didn't feel that way in the moment.
  10. Stink had some good insight at last year's conference. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2023/6/14/23760901/mark-schlereth-ol-masterminds-nfl-von-mille-travis-kelce-lane-johnson
  11. The OL Masterminds seminar is next week. Lane Johnson said 250 people signed up for the conference. I'm hoping all of the Bears OL goes. If anyone has a roster, it would be cool to see.

Selfish has nothing to do with it. He knows how it would look if he didn't go with the others. With image being his primary focus, he wasn't go to blow that chance to be seen. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for the kid because it makes the Bears better. I'm also on high alert because of the smoke, all around him, and I don't want the team burnt.

    Help

My issue with Claypool is that he's not shown any signs of "wanting it". That's the term we used to use to describe a guy as "all in". From his heeding the advice of Ju Ju to have multiple irons in the fire, to not living up to his rookie year, to Ryan Clark and Brandon Marshall working with him in Steelers camp, at the behest of Tomlin, to Tomlin trading him, to the Bears and him not picking the playbook, to soft tissue injuries limiting his season and finally soft tissue injuries in camp to cross dressing during rehab. At this point, it's walking like a duck, so it's a duck. He doesn't love football. Soft tissue injuries occur mainly due to improper conditioning. Other factors do apply sometimes, but overuse can be ruled out. He's already had his tough talk before he left the Steelers. His "come to Jesus" talk may happen when he loses his job to someone like Pettis.

Meanwhile, here's Claypool rehabbing in Paris...?
  16. Good is a pleasant surprise. Better than that is major...??
  17. I agree on Wright, but Davis is average and this IS good. Wright will have his growing in the beginning, along with the rest of the line. It's crazy to think that Jones will be the only starter to play the same position in this offense. I'm very pleased that we are going into camp knowing who the starting five will be. That hasn't happened in awhile.
  18. Hopefully, that's the last we hear of Mustipher. If you want to know how much the OL has improved, look no further than his absence from the roster. If our OL can remain healthy, the continuity they develop should make them a plus unit in the last third of the season.

Get well soon fellas. The offense should be greatly improved, with 5 upgraded starters and better depth at RB, OL, RB and TE. The defense will have possibly 6 upgraded starters, depending on of the rookies show up in pads. Dexter and Stevenson look to be absolute studs.
  20. He and Deion Sanders were unique in their glide then explode acceleration. There was always a twenty yard area where they zipped past coverage.
  21. His acceleration in a 30 yard span is all time elite...
  22. From the DJ Moore All 22 video you posted, on his thread, I'm thinking key is going to have a good year due to opening up the middle of the field. Also, if Claypool has one more soft tissue injury, he may be the one WR to hit the road. It wouldn't be a bad thing for Poles to admit to be a mistake and cut bait. I firmly believe a message has been sent to all players, that they better be ready for camp. Claypool is one I'll be watching.
  23. I can't see my final roster, but I'll take Brian Robinson and Kenneth Walker III. KW3 got hurt and I put him on IR; I just don't know if I dropped him due to it being season ending. Yes, to rules. I would also like to propose that we cut our rosters to 15 and increase IR to three...
