  1. What does SF and CF stand for on the chart?
  2. I'm thinking we're good at G, LB, WR and corner. A move TE, swing tackle and backup free safety are the big upgrade opportunities. We're on the verge of BPA only drafts.
  3. I love that so much. It's contagious too. Pancakes for all!
  4. Thanks for clarifying.
  5. I said he's bonafide! Oh brother where art thou????
  6. Now that most of free agency and the draft is over, our Bears have obviously improved. What degree will the roster improvement help us? Our three win season could be debated that we were better than that, while others may say that we were taken lightly. So, as water seeks it own level, we sought ours. In looking at the improvements, the WR room benefited the most, by getting a stud receiver. Getting Moore places all the others where they belong in the food chain. In the background, it places greater motivation for Mooney and Claypool to produce. (Especially Claypool because we know how Mooney works) The LB corps is now one of the best in the league, after being terrible least season. With adding a bonafide starting guard and a blue chip right tackle, our OL will go from a sieve to a solid unit. I always caution that continuity takes time. While that remains true, Jason's mantra states that talent overcomes below average talent and continuity. This is sort of where we are due to the talent being so poor last year. Second year in the new scheme for 60% and major talent upgrade for 40% makes for a nice blend. DT, RB and DB have also improved in starters and depth. Toward the back third of the season, analysts always ask, who's a pretender and who's a contender? We are now elevated to pretender mode, which is fantastic. Next season will be there greater step to contender mode. Whether we are shooting for NFC North or NFC champ completely depends on Justin. To get the talent up to where we contend, few more things must occur beyond Justin. First, we must establish a pass rush. Next years needs include, a dominant EDGE player and 3T. The latter may be in house, but the EDGE is obviously not. The OL needs to be completed by drafting or signing a dominant OC. Beyond that depth at all five positions needs addressed. The skill positions need to be strengthened every season to ensure the weapons are present to keep up with the elites. Adding Marvin Harrison Jr is my goal here. He is already project to go number 2 next year. Is he a luxury or a dominant piece that makes us unstoppable? Those are my thoughts on where we are and putting us over the top. I would love to hear yours...
  7. I'm thinking back to something AZ54 said, that heard adding a young center to a young OL may not be the best option. Definitely look for C to be upgraded before the 24 season.
  8. This is fun since I did way too many mock drafts. Skor, but love Wright - I wanted a trade down, but Poles read it Wright. Tuli, but love Dexter. Tuli projects to be a 3T, while Dexter can play 1 through 7. Stevenson great trade up. Stud pick for BPA. Ika, but love Pickens Abanikanda over Johnson Oluwatimi over Scott Not going past 4th. In Lord Poles I trust. I've had a man crush on him since he was vetted by my football God, Bill Polian. I'm so thankful the family realized they know nothing about football.
  9. Agreed 100% Herbert is a fantastic #2, but Foreman is a beast as long as he is healthy. He has more burst and power than Monty.

    5 WR set

I don't think it's an option to leave Fields as the only one inn the backfield. You can't read option or play action. With the empty backfield, the defense can call a run blitz and no longer need to spy Fields. This would essentially shorten the field, making it easier to defend. Now, if Fields were quicker on his reads, at lot would open up underneath. That is the opposite of his strength. Give him a couple of years and he could manage it.

    UDFAs

They just did a piece on him on GMFB. Awesome story. The kid is a grinder...
  12. Lewis could be a terror if he can stay healthy.
  13. Agreed on swing tackle. Also, what are your thoughts on moving Smith to free safety? He is bigger than Jackson and has long arms. He's also a very willing tackler. I'm adding because just read it of the Bears site. "Smith, a safety from Minnesota, was named Honorable Mention all-Big Ten last year after starting all 13 games and compiling 38 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions and five pass breakups. Poles called Smith "a guy that really stood out to us at the East-West [Shrine] Game," adding: "He can straight fly on top of having size and length, which is beautiful.""
  14. Does anyone else think that Terrell Smith could be a free safety candidate?
  15. Beyond DE, I would love to see a RB and a move TE added. But, I agree if BPA is the plan, so be it.
  16. This is what today may look like with no trades.
  17. All four of those guys are DE's that can play 3T on passing downs. Would be nice to have that versatility.
  18. Poles is money. He said there were offers, but he never intended to go past ten. Love it!
  19. Yo Adam, what's a good trade up package to get to the top of the second round?
  20. Because this draft is becoming an addiction, here's another one. Made two trades to get more picks in the solid part of the draft.
  21. It bothers me that the NFL has devalued the RB position. I could argue that a great running back can offset a lack of talent elsewhere. If he's a great pass catcher, he's a reviving weapon. If he's a great blocker, it makes his QB better. If he's a great runner, he keeps his defense off the field a little longer. Making everything about the quarterback has hurt every franchise that doesn't have one or that has overpayed for one. It's simply a trend I disagree with and don't care for.
