  1. Let the debate begin. However unfair, this season is likely to cost Flus, Getsy and Fields their jobs. I hate it, due to being so hopefull, but snake bitten is what it is. Poles should be given the opportunity to finish the rebuild, as I believe he has done the job pretty well to date. I've been reading and watching video on both quarterbacks lately and they both have unique skills sets. Both have cannon arms with quick releases. Williams is better short and Maye is better long. Both QB's are pocket first run later, with Williams being more creative and Maye more explosive. This is the first year, I can remember, where two generational QB's will go 1 and 2. (Please don't let it be a Manning Leaf draft) IMO, we can't go wrong with either. At this point, I'm choosing Maye, due to the offense he plays in. He is required to read the high safety, while the Lincoln Rileys' offense does not require it. This off season may be more crazy than last...
  2. I like all the moves you made.(that's if we don't trade some pieces again) With 103mil in cap space, we have to sign the best edge player we can get. Tee Higgins would also be a good get. Via the draft, gotta go QB, OT, edge, center and WR. If we trade the number two pick and Fields, we should be able easily address that in the first two rounds. BPA for the rest....
  3. This. And it's going to be hard to get rid of him. His ghost will linger in the locker room until Bill Murray gets un-slimed. IE: Bagent ?
  4. My question to all of you is this: is this the most snake bitten season the Bears have ever had? If you think of what we talked about the entire off season, the consensus would say, it's the year off Justin. What we never discussed is the litany of injuries this team has had. Drill that down to the OL and we can say that we've not seen the projected starting five all season. Other than the Charles Martin slaughter of Jim McMahon, I have not seen such carnage on the injury report. Jackson, Brisker, Gordon, Edmonds, Engakque, Johnson, Fields, Jones, Whitehair, Jenkins, Wright, Herbert, St Brown, Claypool, Davis, Feeney, Homer, Smith, Kramer, Lewis and Mooney. Did I miss anyone?
  5. I'm starting to wonder what is wrong with Braxton Jones's neck. Flus said he's not ready to practice yet.
  6. Can you find Fields release time in college? You can get away with higher release times in college, definitely not in the pros.

    Tyson Bagent

Nice dig. I love his process.
  8. But he was and he did. Tampa was a shit show and Walsh knew exactly who was getting. (The most accurate pocket passer of all time, who happened to be fast)
  9. He definitely has value. I'm going to make a bold statement and say he's better than Lamar Jackson right now. Lamar has lost a step and can't throw like Justin. Lamar benefits from a far superior OL, TE and scheme. Lamar can also put up 18 points and win. Oh wait, that was Justin Tucker's 6 field goals. Someone will give us a second rounder, at minimum.
  10. There are leaders and winners. I don't want players that don't understand the difference. Winners will rejoice and followers will bitch and moan. If that beats the snakes out of the weeds, I'm good...
  11. The eye test says it all. So far, F...
  12. My Fields-ometer has pegged. If he doesn't play another down for the Bears this year, he is gone. My hope is that they sit him a few games to make sure he completely is healed. That way, he has the best chance to make a case for himself. At this point, I don't see him making the simple throws necessary to succeed. On a side note: Ben Johnson looks like a stud candidate to shepherd our new QB. I've been reading articles and statements from other coaches around the league. Some say they would hire him to be on the offensive or defensive staff, because he is simply brilliant and different.
  13. No, he was a pocket passer with wheels. Very different. Same with Mahomes, if you consider a 4.8 forty as fast.
  14. Disagree. Justin blew that game. He's not seeing hot reads on blitzes. Someone mentioned the lack of slants. He can't throw them. It's a fatal flaw in the NFL. Washington did not blitz him, which shows how dumb or arrogant Rivera is.
  15. I'm ok with sitting him a couple of weeks to see what we have in Bagent.
  16. Taking too many hits is on him. What's crazy was seeing the exact same thing from Caleb Williams yesterday. Both are great throwers with time. Just the opposite under pressure. Fields is going to see loaded boxes until he beats it. Good QB's salivate when safeties step in to the party.
  17. No running quarterback has ever won a Superbowl. What you illustrated completely supports why they are trying to force Justin to be able to work the entire field through the pocket. That's what opens the field for everything.
  18. Agreed. When things got complicated, he broke down. I will look at what he does from here on out. Resilience is very important to developing young QB's. If he has it, it will show.
  19. This is key. It's hard to pinpoint release, as it has two key elements. Some folks say release time is how fast they get rid of the ball, others say it's how fast the throwing motion is upon decision to throw. One gets the ball out faster, to avoid defensive pressure. The other gets the ball out faster to avoid defensive reaction. I can find stats for the former, but not the latter. The latter is something Justin is tremendously lacking due to mechanics. The former is due to processing speed...
  20. Imagine the weird scenario where Fields begins to look like the real deal, then gets injured in week 8. Tyson Bagent comes in and does a Brock Purdy. Now, we have the future and can trade Fields for a first or second rounder before the draft. The scenarios are endless. It is a pipe dream to think we could get Harrison and Bowers in next year's draft. To be honest, I don't know who is be more thrilled with, as they are both generational talents. This year is so interesting for many reasons. The arrow is up!
  21. It's like politics. It's only accurate when we agree with it. I was just busting balls...
  22. I couldn't edit the above post, but it shows what the draft could look like if we trade the top two picks. That's only on the assumption of Fields progressing in a manner that leadership feels we can build upon.
