  1. I think Poles is a pay stars at key positions kind of guy.
  2. My expectations are clear. Fix the OL, once and for all. Upgrade, at least 3 DL positions. Draft a starting caliber WR. That's free agency and draft. As for performance, we should end the season in the top fifteen. If Fields figures out passing, we will be a team that scares people. Kinda like what Detroit did this year. Detroit and us have close to the youngest teams in the league and I expect some really good competition for the division title in 2024. My early projection is 8-9 or 9-8. No playoffs. 2024 will be huge. Hang on...
  3. We knew what this season was going to be. Within that thought there were varied growth and win expectations from the Bearstalk family and media experts. This will be the single biggest off-season the Bears or maybe any other team has ever had. Do we know of any team has had the number one pick, an emerging QB and 120 mil to spend? Do you expect playoffs, winning record or vast improvement? What gives Poles and Eberflus the thumbs up?
  4. I agree. We need a right tackle, which is less of a premium. We struck gold in the 5th round with Braxton. He'll do nothing but get better. Finding a RT and center is imperative this year, followed closely with OG.
  5. He's number one with Kiper. Levis has a very live arm with a quick release. A lot of folks downgrade him because they have a ground and pound offense. Ain't his fault.
  6. It's been a speculated move ever since we got him. I'd like to see him as a player that needs schemes inside and out. RE Engram and others; it's historically been a bad idea to sign skill players to free agent contracts unless the QB is ready to make them a weapon. Not yet...
  7. Oh yeah. There are a few scenarios that could get ridiculous. The big play before the draft is for Poles to convince the NFL world that he's not sold on Justin. I expect for some pre draft trade rumors or a cryptic presser that leaves reporters scratching their heads. If we can pull off two trades within the top 5 we'll get 5-6 more players in the 2nd-4th rounds.
  8. He's a perfect fit for any role that fosters loyalty.
  9. Lovie's reward for inspiring his team to win... ...Fired!
  10. Yes. It was all part of the reset. Most fans understand the talent portion of a reset, when combining that with financial strength it becomes muddled. This is the perfect storm for a GM if he feels he has a franchise QB in the midst of a rookie deal. Of Justin's class, the only rival is Trevor Lawrence. He is proving to be the real deal. As of now, I place him ahead of Justin, strictly due to passing. We'lll surprise people next year, but 2024 it's going to be on!
  11. Ryan Poles is currently instructing all perspective buyers to install glory holes in the trucks before docking.
  12. Poles is in complete control of free agency and the draft now! This is how heroes and villains are made...
  13. The only things our heard negative about him is that he has a hard time keeping weight on and has very short arms for the tackle position. Neither is a deal breaker due to his elite athleticism and intelligence. He is said to have superior lateral agility and footwork.
  14. You're right on PFF. One thing I do like is that you can trade for players alongside picks. Look at the draft I posted earlier in this thread and you'll see I got Quentin Nelson and Michael Thomas. PFF value system is way off.
  15. If we can trade back a couple of times to gain 3+ picks in the first three rounds or gain 2 extra picks in the first 3 rounds and gain a 1st for the 24 draft, I'm good. (I'm coveting Marvin Harrison Jr in 24) As far as your draft. I would do that. I love the first 6 picks, then got a little lost with Bo Nix, when you could've nailed a stud running back.(I get it though) Anyway, the top 6 makes it worth while. Everything else is gravy. I've got nothing going this morning, so I'll do one for fun. As promised. I see 8-9 new starters and greater depth. Prior to draft, we signed Da'ron Payne and Jannick Ngakoue. If Quentin Nelson and Michael Thomas return to form, it can be huge.
  16. We got a solid #5. I'm indifferent. I'll dance when we get a 1 or 2...
  17. I find fault in it without remorse. He spent the day in the hospital to get checked out. Result, ok. Just like a few weeks back, he goes to coach and says he can be a backup after he's fully cleared to start. He didn't go into that game as questionable or a game time decision. If you are cleared to play, you play. (especially when your team needs you) To be an NFL football player, you've got to love it. Team doctors don't deem you healthy, if there is further risk of injury. It's just pain tolerance at that point. I hope it works out because he's a stud. We'll see how it plays out.
  18. What else is new? I have issues regarding Tevin Jenkins... ...and none of it is performance related. To the beginning where he came in outta shape, as could've been the issue with the back last year. We already know his college coach had a hard time motivating him to workout. To the now, he was deemed healthy to play Sunday. He lasted one play. Does he know the difference between hurt and injured? Does he have the heart to tough it out? Don't get me wrong, as I never want to see a player out there that feels he's injuring himself, never. But, my goodness he was designated healthy by the doctors and he went out with the same damn thing. One the first play! The other thing I noticed as he was running off the field is that he is gaining weight during the season. That's a result of not working out properly and consuming too many calories. That leads me to the drinking issues that are leisurely reported. A man that size can easily drink a case of beer a day, equally a lot of extra calories. I simply have a bad feeling about the reliability of this guy.
  19. The contact between coaches and players and vice versa is important. It's a sign or respect and a silent form of communication in and of itself. You can read a lot through the eyes of someone you are communicating with.
  20. Agreed on all except the above. The OL, WR's and Justin will ALL need to make an above average jump to be considered balanced. I don't think we have the WR's to make it happen. The OL is fixable.
  21. Pickens was a first round talent grade with red flags. I'm not a fan of rating a GM or coach this early. It's not fair. Drafts and coaches deserve 2 years before the scrutiny starts.
