  1. What happened to Reiff? I absolutely hate the idea of Jenkins ever playing RT, let alone LT. He belongs in the middle, period. I apologize if I get a little passionate, but I've seen enough.
  2. Me too. Especially since we can stash a couple on the PS.
  3. I remember us discussing the depth of the draft before it occurred. Also, was the huge talking point of Poles needing to maximize the draft by getting as many picks as possible. He had the one time benefit of getting intell from 5 different organizations. It looks to have been fruitful so far.
  4. Hopefully, we can pick up a WR

IMO, not a best man won scenario. More like Borom was close enough, so let's develop him type of thing. It makes sense if they don't think he's gonna get Fields killed. If it works, that's what's best for the team.

They must have done this because they feel Reiff would be a better insurance policy as a swing tackle. Borom did not look good in pass pro last game. Looked ok in run.
  7. With Eberflus "get your track shoes" mentality, there might be some tight hammies. I've never understood the mentality of the last preseason game. Not being ready presents a huge increase in chance of injury due to being out of sync.
  8. I hope to see the starting offense play the first quarter, with the exception of Monty. The OL needs the live time and Fields had some kinks to work out.(like tempo)
  9. You are not wrong in your apprehension. There will be growing pains for sure.
  10. Larry Borom did not look good tonight. A surprise player on the OL for me was Dieter Eisolen. I was highly critical of him as a rookie last year, noting that he needed to spend a lot of time working on agility. He actually looked like he really made some progress. From the center position, he was at the second level a lot. He may not make the roster, but his arrow is pointing up.
  11. My hope is that they leave the entire OL in until halftime. While I am optimistic about the future of this unit, that says nothing about how much cohesion means to the front. Half of it comes from game play.
  12. Watkins and Cobb are both injury prone. Cobb hasn't played a complete season since 2014. Unfortunately, they have Amari Rodgers, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs waiting in the wings.
  13. It's a big transition going from highly drafted college OT to pro OG. Hype, hope and ego are huge with young people. Once he accepts his new role, he should thrive. He's another Pace overdraft, but will hopefully reclaim quite nicely.
  14. I like all of it. Borom is a good depth piece that is still developing. I'm still concerned about the rookie on the left side, but we all knew we'd have growing pains. If we can hit on two more OL next draft, we should be solid for a decade.

That's good news. He should be a stud there...

I'm sorry fellas, but Brandon Thorn is a hack. I don't think he's ever played football. Also, he writes articles calling himself a guru. Any credential or accolade he has ever recieved has come from himself or some internet website he has started or worked for. We all saw Jenkins playing well in the run game. The lone pass pro highlight was the only one in which Jenkins looked like he was remotely average. Just sayin, be careful what you read and watch. There's a lot of guys out there trying to make a living.

That was one of the reasons I said he was a beast in the run game. There was another stretch play to the right where he was assisting the the TE and left just a hair late to get his second level guy. The DB beat him to the corner, but he punished him for it. Love it.
  18. On Fields, I don't have a great way to put it, but he looks more composed than I think he should. It's almost nonchalant. How do you criticize someone for being too composed? A couple of examples are: 1) he had a check down on the right flat. Instead of snapping his turn and firing the ball, it was casual and slow and ended being batted by the DL. 2) he had a designed rollout and he glided instead of sprinting out there. It allowed the DL to stay in a closer proximity to him. Fields made the play, but lost some ability to improvise by not separating more. They are very minute things, but are subtle weapons he needs to hone and maximize his immense talent.
  19. The commentators, during the game, said something like, "it looks like he's been preparing years for this moment." Things we tend to remember...?
  20. It was entertaining and definitely played into my rum buzz...?
  21. Brisker was my star of the day. And you have lost your damn mind if you think Herbert has a remote chance of being cut.
