  1. Same here. I'm also still thinking that at some point that Quinn gets traded to a contender before the deadline. (Ala Von Miller)
  2. Yes, yes. I remember us all taking about his mechanics but wee never touched his feet. Why this didn't occur at Ohio State is a glaring display of the difference between one of the top programs in the nation and the NFL. Nagy should never be allowed around a QB again. I'm glad our staff is doing the right work.
  3. Thanks for sharing. That looks much better. The muscle memory should be ok if he can maintain exact repetition. It's the same thing with baseball hittng and pitching mechanics. My guess is he's been advised to not throw unless his QB coach is present to ensure repeatability.
  4. The other thing Justin should be working on is his arm motion on the release. It's long and slow.
  5. Our OL still needs a serviceable LT. Other than that, call it addition through subtraction. Getting rid of Ifedi, Simmons, Wilkinson and Hambright will cut Fields sacks in half. I can't begin to tell anyone how terrible they were for us. At this point I really don't care who we sign as a left tackle, just as long as they have a season or two under their belt as a starter.
  6. I never understood why anyone would want to keep them away. It creates a positive vibe, great PR, shared knowledge, not to mention the fact that none of them will talk smack against you in the media.
  7. The pass wasn't intended for Finke. Gordon handed Finke off to the deep help and broke on the guy running the out/crossing route. It'd be great to see what was happening behind the pick. Looks like the QB threw too early and slightly low. Regardless, it was definitely an ill advised pass, considering the cluster of traffic.

Just saw it. Not good. FWIW, he looks way out of shape.
  9. Good thought. He is a willing hitter and that will draw respect quickly. Eddie Jackson's days of making "business decisions" should be over. Otherwise, his next business decision could seal his fate to unemployed.
  10. Another point to make about the talking heads wanting to see more help for Justin is what we have to evaluate. They are introducing a new scheme and asking the OL to change their physique. We spent draft picks on OT's last year. They are going to want to see what these guys have to offer after they condition properly. Bringing in a vet at this time takes reps away from Jenkins and Borom, thus hindering the cohesion of the OL. The WR room has been talked about in a few threads. IMO, the group is suspect with upside. Also, IMO, we have enough to work with. I suspect they will extend core players at some point in the season further helping our cap situation. If push comes to shove, Poles probably has a few agents on speed dial in case the LT project comes to a dead end. Again, I'm nervous about this most of all. Some things we have to take on faith until we learn not to.
  11. Marques King and Reggie Roby are all I remember. Randall Cunningham even boomed one off once.
  12. In the Greg Gabriel thread, Greg talks about Velus only being 11 months older than Devin Hester when he was drafted, so, so what on the age. He also talked about St Brown and how he was viewed as entitled at ND and had some maturing to do. The fact that his younger bro plays in the division and got 90 receptions last year will prove as a wake up call for his career. Getsy knowing and signing off on him also tells me he plans to mature. Gabriel said he's a superior athlete to lil bro.
  13. This is the stuff I love.
  14. Newsome was drafted by a guy not named Poles, so there's that in a nutshell. Seriously, they aren't physically close in comparison. Poles took a gamble and drafted a guy that can hopefully loosen things up for Fields. Who knows if he's good, but if anyone is staying, it's Velus.
  15. Been reading since I posted. So he runs with choppy steps, rounds his cuts and has poor footwork at the top of his route. Plays slower than speed indicates during route and shows elite speed with ball in hand. All the knocks are a hindrance on separation, especially at the NFL level. However, all of the Deebo and Tyreek type plays are unencumbered, so it's go time...
  16. The route running statement doesn't sound good. If he's 25 and not a good route runner, what's the deal? I'm going to have to dig into some footage and scouting now to see if there is an issue.
  17. Both of those guys must be wanting mercenary money and teams aren't seeing the production. I wonder if Flus and Poles don't want to have bandaid contracts.

    2022 Schedule

The over under is 7. I'll take the push.
  19. Yeah, if we can get Mooney, Kmet and Monty to 65+% reception per target, that would be great.
  20. Don't forget the running backs on your targets Stinger...??

Raw is the key word. He is a freaky athlete with good size. The thing with Teague is that he is not a good functional athlete. Remember Alonzo Spellman? He was a major freak athlete at 290# at 3% body fat. He couldn't get off the line of scrimmage fast enough, even though he had the twitch to do so. Teague had issues with changing speed and direction which are the most important qualities of a running back.
  22. Sentiments echoed. NFL media loves the splash. Bears simply dove into FA and draft without a ripple. They had to. They quickly forget the cap hell and bare cupboard left to Ryan Poles and his staff. We didn't need one or two foundational pieces. According to Bill Polian, we needed 8. You can't get 8 with no money and 5 picks. So, you get more picks for the Mack trade, while freeing up future money. Blah blah blah, we now have 11 picks. IMO, that was a coup, in the deepest draft in decades. Seeing 25 year old rookies will tell you that.(thanks Rona) Add our blended intell from good organizations. Stinger said something akin to 30% of rosters are made up of UDFA's. This was the year to throw darts at the board and hope they stick. I'll take a splashless entry for the gold any day.
  23. I don't really use the site. I thought that some of the folks that do comps and measurables would like it. I would think Velus, Snowden and nation would look good on that.
