    Trade Quinn?

Quinn is a huge commodity as far as trade bait is concerned, Monty not so much. Quinn gets to the QB, which makes everyone else's job easier on defense. Monty is a good RB, but there's nothing special about him that changes games. If you project Monty's worth to when this team will be viable again, it's better to get younger legs if you can fetch a good draft pick for him.

I don't like the concept of drafting an LT prospect late in the draft to develop. If you like an LT prospect early, get him. At a minimum, he should be able to be a key back up, starting OG or late season starter.

There should plenty of cap and post draft cuts to get an OG.
  4. Agreed to all. I would be in prison if stuff like this was serious. Would we even be talking about this if it were Tony Stewart?

We are in a place to give a guy a year to develop. We are playing this year to build the base and develop Fields. We can sign serviceable players, post draft, to fill the gap until next year. My personal mindset is to draft BPA for where we are headed as a team. There are scenarios where stashing a guy is best.
  6. That's right. He wanted the contract extension and didn't get it. Then he gets hurt and gave them the big f u as they were carting him off.

Loved him on GMFB. Very insightful, intelligent, confident and a stone cold killer. Gotta have him!
  8. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply the article was old. Some websites update as buzz around a player happens. Most of the main sites have Watson and Smith going in the first and the trend has slowly moved that way. The main draft sites update frequently, while the independent guys may have old data. Anyway, I love this stuff. Playing armchair GM and coach warms all of the old football injuries and keeps me in the game.
  9. Is it possible their data used was old? For the sake of it being accurate, I'd trade with Cleveland at 50 and 64 for 39. That gives us 48, 50, 64 and 71. With those picks I take Smith, Moore, Leaf and Pierce.

Good points. I think Raimann is an all pro guard prospect. He doesn't have near the experience of Rashawn Slater to be the technician he needs to be at LT. As for Smith, he has every tool in the box to be an above average LT by year two. (He IS the one I want) I don't think he'll be there when we draft though. He is super young for his position and probably had the most upside of any player in the draft.
  11. They say he has short arms and only weighs 290. Experts say that huge DT's will exploit him 20% of the time, but also say that he'll be very good 80% of the time. He has great feet and leverage, so he should be great in zone.
  12. Since Eberflus stated that this draft is very deep, I traded out of the second round and concentrated a bounty picks in the sweet spot. I ended up with eight picks from 64 to 132. All needs met with BPA.

Totally agree. The difference between 6'0 fast and 6'4 faster is staggering no matter what analytics you put to it. It's more rare for a Tyreek Hill or Steve Smith to be there playing like a big man. On a side note, Steve Smith loves Skyy Moore, says he's a clone of himself.
  14. That is exactly why I love what they are doing. Year after year, the brass is convinced we are a player or two away. So they reach for a pick, trade up for a pick, overpay for a free agent, overpay their own or trade picks for help. It's dumb unless you are truly close. Harvard business model loves the hope model of running a team because it creates a buzz, thus selling out games and selling of merch. The perfect family of leaches is the McCaskey family, as this is their sole income. Now, they much bite the bullet for a year. Back to Harvard: it's a great time to build a stadium and attract partners when your team rises from the ashes like a Phoenix. Once the foundation is built, the comp pics will come when we big-time sellers instead of buyers.

I like Monty and Herbert, but also like pounding the rock. If we find a gem, Monty becomes tradable and we don't have a big contract for him. RB is a disposable position lately. When our offense is relevant, how old will Monty be?
  16. Getting a true LT and a 1WR is imperative for Fields' development. If you gotta draft multiples to get there, take multiples.

    Trade Quinn?

They can absolutely get more than Mack. Quinn may not be quite as good as Mack, but he's more productive in his niche. The big plus with Quinn is that his contract is palatable compared to Macks'. The Chargers pay 8.7M to Mack this year, but it hits 27M, 27M the following two years. Put Quinn with Chris Jones and you have something really good.

    Trade Quinn?

I'd do it for a 2nd and 4th or two 3rds. No way in hell for #96. Getting him off the books is huge too.

Agreed. I would even add RB late.
