  1. Watching Watson, he is the freak of this draft. At 6'4, he cuts like a guy 5'10. Being so tall, he's the perfect compliment to Mooney and Pringle. My vote is cast...?
  2. I remember him. In watching him, it was easy to see that he is very strong, but badly needed to work on his lateral agility. As a practice squad player, he should have worked his ass on that. Hopefully it paid off.
  3. I like Pickens. He reminds me of a slightly less talented CD Lamb. Watch some tape on Christian Watson. He was on GMFB this week and made an impression. Taller, faster and healthy...
  4. OMG ❤❤❤! Put Smith at LG and Petit-Frer at LT. Smith was the number one rated run blocker last year. Complete mauler!
  5. It can be great or terrible. We can vote for both. PFN sounds good to me.
  6. I hope you guys will have fun with this. We need to establish a draft site. Once that is determined, all bets are off. At the end of the week, we can do a vote for the best and most putrid draft. Suggestions/help is needed...
  7. He's a true left tackle. He has the all the prototypical size and tools to be great. He's young, therefore raw. Nasty run blocker with attitude. He and Jenkins would be bookend tackles. Watch him on YouTube...
  8. Was listening to Kiper this morning. He said this draft is loaded at WR. He predicts 25 receivers to be drafted in the first three rounds. All with starting 1, 2 or 3 grades. McShay has us drafting LT Tyler Smith from Tulsa. Jurko broke him down on film and said he's a nasty run blocker that needs to refine some of his pass pro technique and is pure upside. With that being said, how's LT, WR, WR look?
  9. Maybe they could come slap some Alabama back into Eddie Jackson...?
  10. Experience and physical traits matter and not just a little. He's proven to be a good player, in college, on the right side. We didn't trade up for to be a project. Remember, we were the only scouting dept in the entire NFL to have him rated as an LT. This why I'm hoping for him to be a stud. The length is primarily for speed rushers, like Quinn, who uses his quickness, length and hip dip to get around the back. Sometimes those extra inches are the difference in whether your opponent gets his hands on you or not. Unless you are Tua, the LT matters for the QB. Blindside hits are a turnover or injury waiting to happen.
  11. That's interesting. I'm 50/50 on any news from Olin. I've stated many times that Jenkins is a RT/G. I still hope Jenkins is a complete stud, but folks are talkin...
  12. Good point. That should be the theme of most of the players we sign. "Want a change of scenery or a fresh start, come to Chicago"
  13. Anyone can be cut, so I'm not sure it's BS. What Eberflus didn't say was, "Eddie and I spoke and he knows he's done if he doesn't play fast and physical. He wants a chance to prove himself and he's got till the end of camp to do it." Not that I know anything that was said, it's just the conversation I would have had.
  14. Cam Newton should call it a career. He simply has no arm anymore. Foles backing up Ryan sounds like a good match because Indy will be a contender and they play the same style. Foles to Jax would be good as a mentor.
  15. I get it, but am more interested in being in fantastic cap and draft shape next year. As long as we run the heck out of the ball and take a few shots, the offense can easily duplicate the crap from recent years. A young QB's best friend is a running game and basic passing attack. I'm really curious to see what points we can average per game vs hits Fields takes.
  16. Let's not forget, there will be post draft cuts that are very good deals for teams that wait. We are NOT in win now mode, so patience is very much a virtue.
  17. I'd rather break the cycle and abstain from trading picks.
  18. I'd like to re-address the Polian effect. There were question marks about whether George was really going to listen to the advice and to trust what Polian had to say on his evaluation of the front office, coaching staff and roster. The other question was of Polian was simply going to crony up like Ernie Accorsi did. The third part is whether Polian was still in touch and just going through the motions. The question whether he was going through the motions should have been answered when we found that he started working for George, in secret, in late October 21. He was here two full months before the season was finished, evaluating everything from the top down. During this time, he was able to earn George and Ted's trust. Leading to the answer of whether George would indeed heed the advice that was given. Polian identified a weak roster with half of the blue chip players needed to have a championship team. The answer was clear, as they hired the guy that came in and told them the truth, the same truth Polian told them. That truth had been backed up by the action of reshaping the roster through trade, release and free agency. A rebuild of the OL and an infusion of youth is the first order of business. Both have been initiated, yet to be completed. Two of the three questions have been answered. The one remaining question is whether Polian is still relevant. As I've always been a huge fan, my answer is yes. As anyone can judge, I'm biased, so what say you?
  19. I completely expect that we will draft top 10. Plus, Quinn will be traded for picks eventually.
  20. It's an exercise to see what we could do when our GM acquires picks in the future vs the picks we have.
  21. This is simply a "what if" draft. You can use any teams' picks. Mine is, what if we had the Jets draft picks? BTW - I would die happy...
  22. This is simply a "what if" draft. You can use any teams' picks. Mine is, what if we had the Jets draft picks?
  23. He's expected to learn and grow this year. With a stronger OL and solid running game Fields should make what he has better. The draft will yield us talent for the future. Please don't think we are going to be good this year. Poles is is truly going to use the three year plan. Rebuild, excite then dominate!
  24. Completely agree. You only make a trade like that if you are in great depth and cap space. After that, you must be in the Superbowl window.
  25. The crazy part is, experts were projecting him to get 22 mil per year. 15 mil per year will be a bargain if he plays 80% of the games. It's highly unlikely though.
