  1. If interested, my man, Bill Polian is interviewing on ESPN1000 today at 3p Chicago time. It will include everything from late October until now. Check it out on Waddle and Silvey!
  2. Not in particular. Note Dame and IU are my college teams.
  3. So I did a draft today and it is a pipe dream. I only traded back in the second round to gain more picks. It took about 2 hours to complete this due to researching every player. All needs, all good fits!
  4. I love a good conspiracy theory, so I am going to believe Flores' owner did bribe him to lose games. IE: tank for Tua. What we know as fact, is that minorities are getting hosed, by the NFL owners, in regards to management and head coaching positions. Is it racial or cultural? Do the owners think the minority coaches have a lesser work ethic and acumen for higher positions? It reminds me of the evolution of the black quarterback. I'm thankful the Bears aren't part of this type of idiocy.
  5. I think that's a direct testament to Bill Polian being in house since late October. Seems like he remade the George and Ted dynamic. Not only that, but thank goodness they bought in!
  6. Totally this. Poles talks about building from a concrete foundation. He doesn't subscribe to quick fixes and big free agent splashes. Since he wants to build through the draft, I'm still hoping we can acquire a few more picks this year. We won't have an opportunity to use four different franchises scouting intell next year.
  7. The only thing that would bother me is if he calls Fangio.
  8. Good. I'd love nothing more than to see our boys own his ass, just like Ohio State did. I still say Singletary built that team Harbaugh took to the Superbowl.
  9. I liked it. Poles and Eberflus seemed genuine and on the same page. There is a different optimism with these two, as it seems like they are polar opposites of Nagy and Pace. Games will be won and lost in the trenches. That's makes an old OT/DL happy.
  10. The Broncos got a second and third rounder in this years draft for Miller, but agreed to pay most of this year's salary.
  11. Totally agree with this part. I'm simply looking at a great draft opportunity that will not occur next year. We currently have top intell from 4 teams with no way to capitalize. I was willing to sacrifice last season, and now willing to sacrifice this one.

    New Defense?

I do know that Eberflus doesn't blitz much, but does send bigger bodies into coverage zones if he wants to rush anyone of the back seven. He also uses nickel 65% of the time.
  13. This year is a great opportunity in the draft. Every time you get a new coach or GM you have the opportunity to steal intell from other teams. So far, we have ours, KC's and Indy's. That's a very good start. With all this great info, we lack picks, so let's get some. I'll start by trading Quinn. He just had his best season, so his value will never be higher. Plus, he had only one year left on his contract which makes it even sweeter. We should be able to get what Denver got for Von Miller, at a minimum. Next up is Foles. Can we get a fifth rounder? Next, cut or trade both Eddies. Lastly, it's time for Mack to go. If his foot is finally healthy, he is still a stud. My hope would be to get a second and third for him. With those moves, we're looking at 4-6 more picks and a crap ton of free agent money to upgrade the offense. I would let the defense suffer a little this year with a youth movement allowing energy to do what he does best while the offense gets solid.
  14. This was talked about on the Carmen and Jurko show today. He has also seen Carson went up close and we all know his flaws. Hopefully, measures are planned to guide Fields to using his athleticism the right way.
  15. I think everyone will like what we see defensively out of his team. The Colts play defense like a bunch of barbarians. Always fast and swarming to the ball. They also get a lot of turnovers. Don't worry about the 4-3/3-4 thing. He plays nickel 65% of the time. One thing I'm optimistic about this duo is that they fit my personality better. As a former OL, I look at Poles like a brother in arms. It brings a little confidence that he will fix what I've complained about for years. As far as Eberflus is concerned, I simply like that Fields won't have multiple thought processes and voices in his ear. I really think that will be key to his development. Another way Eberflus can help Justin is by working with the OC to let him know how he would attack Fields. The big thing that is on everyone's mind now, is who the OC will be.
  16. According to everything I've heard about Arians, is that he was born ready.(just made different) When he enters a situation, he's the dude that doesn't give a flying f'k what the owner thinks. That's a hard dude to hire.
  17. Bruce Arians took forever to get a gig because of that. It took Chuck Pagano getting cancer for him to get recognition.
  18. Gotta give Lamar credit on that one. Bad thing is, I think his dominance is over. He's already losing some of his elite ability and becoming dinged up. Let's see if he makes the next transition.
  19. That's what I wanted last season. The pain would be over and the rebuild would already be on. Hindsight being 20/20, there are very little QB's to choose from this year, so it's good we got Justin last year.
  20. Payton said he'd never coach the Bears the way they are organized. I think it was Dan Graziano that said it on Carmen and Jurko's show.
  21. I live just outside of Indy and have seen a lot of Polian. He's brilliant. The fact that he's been on the payroll since late October let me know that he has a lot of control. Otherwise, he would have cut bait and left those clowns on the boat.
  22. Yes and yes. I never thought Polian would do that, as he is the consummate professional. We also know now that Poles hired based on the contingency that he would hire HIS own coach. In Polian I trust!
  23. Caldwell is solid but not spectacular. He got screwed in Indy when Manning hurt his neck. Then got screwed in Detroit after taking them to the playoffs. If he has a solid coaching staff in tow, he should be ok. He'll be a Dungy/Lovie type of coach. I still want Daboll. Looks unlikely though.
