I would be ecstatic with seven wins. And we still don't have a Left tackle on the roster.

Bears Sign Bengals DT Larry Ogunjobi (40M over 3 years)

Totally agree. It is said that his projected salary will be 23 mil. That is too much for a team trying to build. -
Bears Sign Colts DE Al-Quadin Muhammad (2yr 10M) - DE (former Colts)

I'm not sure what consists of a rebuild, but this is what I believe it is. When you are talking about 4 new receivers, 5 OL, trading your best player, cutting dead weight, adding new DL, etc. When in doubt, follow the money. We go into this season with the highest dead cap in the NFL. That tells that it's not about this year. -

Not sure I agree that it was a mistake. You watch a guys film and see that he's good, then other guys tell you whether he's a good dude or not. Then the agent says, "he's ready to roll at X date". Poles says, "it's all contingent on his physical with our guys". Agents lie, cheat and steal to get deals for their guys. Poles did his job. Did he miss on a player? Yes. But, it didn't cost us a thing. That's good work. -

Well done Poles! I love that he cuts bait and moves on. -
This is why Fields must show significant growth this year. Next year we are in great cap shape and have picks. That is where we will see the next step. This year, we will take our lumps and see what the plan is. Hopefully, next year we will contend for a playoff spot. After that, the window should be open. The key is developing the OL and if Justin is the real deal. I still wish we could have done all of this last year, but I'm willing to wait now that it is happening.

Same with Ju Ju. He's not necessarily a cancer, but he's a clown.

Bears sign Pringle (From Chiefs) and ST. Brown (from Packers)

100% What I like about these guys, is that they will both play special teams and block in the run game. Byrd and Goodwin were both one trick ponies. -
I like Landry a lot. He does the dirty work inside, blocks, throws, and runs.

Julio used to be a monster. Can he stay healthy though? If he can, it might be worth a shot. My guess is that he wants to go somewhere he can win for less money...
-
I see him as a solid depth piece that will help transition Getsy's offense. He's gotten a lot of starter experience due to injuries and has played fairly well. Left tackle has to be on the horizon since we don't have one on the roster. One in FA and one in the draft, at a minimum.

I love Poles so far. He is sending the message to the OL, "I don't like you". Offensive line is the one group that can collectively pick up the slack. The mentality is the key. I'm fully convinced that Cody Whitehair is on final notice and I love it. When the big fatties get an identity, the entire team will follow.
-
I'm hopeful that he is fully recovered and his core has been retrained. I love his demeanour and power as a player. I just think Pace fell in love with a highlight clip and said we can put him anywhere. He has a place at RT and OG any day of the week if he stays healthy.
-
That doesn't make sense to me. Orlando Brown was nothing but an LT at Oklahoma. The Ravens made him a RT, then moved him to LT when their starter got hurt. Plus, his wingspan is way bigger than Jenkins, which is a huge advantage. Jenkins only played a few games at LT in college.

You are welcome, my friend!

A three legged ferret would improve our OL.

Tevin Jenkins info. A former NFL personnel man, now in the media, said that the Bears were the only team in the NFL that graded Jenkins as a left tackle. Also said that 75% of the teams had a flag on his back injury. Ryan Pace should never be in charge of anything again, ever!
-
James Daniels signed 3yr deal with the Steelers. This shows that Poles is sending a message to all current and future OL that he is not going to tolerate the shit show effort we have witnessed the last few years. My guess is that Cody Whitehair is on final notice.
-
I would strategically wait on signing any guard. If we signed someone comparable to Whitehair at a value deal, he could be leveraged to take a pay cut or be a post Jun 1 cap cut. So far, it seems like Daniels hasn't been offered what he sees as good money. If given the chance, I'd rather pay Daniels than Whitehair.
-
That's confusing because his contract is tolerable. I'd throw a conditional pick in there just to not have to bid for his services. Never mind. He's a RT and we have those in abundance, lol.

Solid signing. We needed a 3T and got a good one. It's still a draft item position. -
Good thought process, but I abhor the Faalele pick, as we need a left tackle. (Jenkins is not an LT IMO) Now, if we happened to do a wild thing and sign Terron Armstead, we could do something really nasty with Faalele. Fallele RT, Jenkins RG, Whitehair C, Borom LG, Armstead LT. That would create a road grating OL for the run game. And if Mustipher is a decent option with this new regime, cut Whitehair and save the money.
-
You got that one. We still do not have a rostered LT, as I don't believe that is where Jenkins is suited or will be. So, you need a starter and backup there. I'm not sure if we have a suitable 3T on the roster either, so ditto...

He is, but his injury history would be a big concern paying him huge bucks.
