OTAs
Per The Athletic, this is a quote from Fields, “Chase has improved tremendously from the end of last year to now,” he said. “That’s one thing I’m truly proud to say, seeing his work ethic, his attitude change. You can just see he’s taking another step, so definitely excited for that.” Claypool seems to have humbled himself and bought into the reality of his career. This could be a big upgrade for the receivers.

Redrafting Bears players
That's almost good depth. No way I'm ever putting Borom on the blindside. To me, he can RT and G depth. Moving Wright to LT would be the best option if Jones goes down.

Roster Look: Player size
I've got Tonyan listed at 237. Also, I'm not concerned about Mooney's size either. He's been durable so far, as he has not had any little guy injuries.

One thing I'll be looking for is if Tevin Jenkins makes weight. He was a concern for multiple reasons during camp and as the season wore on. Also in the mix, is whether our new DL gets up to speed quickly. On Velus Jones, I would have him perform some type of special pre snap movement or post snap fake nearly every play he's on the field.

From Pretenders to Contenders...
Swifty is an optimist. Usually, I'm not a fan of his work. In reviewing Dexter, I looked at Lance Zeirline from NFL.com. He's not high on Dexter at all and gave him a 6.0 rating. After doing my own look at Dexter, I tend to agree with Swifty this time. I looked at a comparable athlete, in Deforest Buckner, and Dexter is way more athletic, with more than double the RAS. I believe Dexter's slow off the snap and lack of punch traits stem from his read and react role at Florida. In Flus's defense, he will be asked to seek and destroy, which leads to more natural aggression vs anticipation.

2023 Schedule
They are actually wanting the Bears fans to travel to KC because we follow the team well. Lots of money gets spent when the Bears fans come to town.

Chase Young. The sticking point is that they want a first rounder. Rumor also has it that they don't like how he rehabbed and both sides are a little butthurt over it. Poles would probably send them a second round pick and have him on a prove it year. After that, they would control his rights with the tag.

2023 Schedule
Before knowing the schedule, I was thinking 8-9 tops. I may change to 9-8 after thinking about it and seeing some pre season stuff. Who knows what will happen with trades and cap cuts? We have the clout to win in both arenas.

A Case for Bijan...
Amen to that. Have you had the pipe dream of Carolina going 0-17 yet? I have...?

A Case for Bijan...
He didn't displace Monty because he got hurt. If a guy averages 5.7 YPC, I see no reason to take snaps away. He may not have the ass to pick up a blitz, but he can be an outlet or decoy to draw that extra defender.

A Case for Bijan...
I'll dispute that. Foreman will be the workhorse of the RB unit, while Herbert sits second despite having higher production. If Roschon is staring week four, we'll have been decimated with injuries.

Praying one will be a cap cut and we can sign. Or cheap trade to eat vet salary.

Both Flus and Poles said that Bell was their favorite interview, so the kid has some charisma and/or leadership traits. With the two highly drafted guys playing that same position, his value may be as the camp "teachers pet". (The guy that will be the example and also take the ass chewing that the other two need) Bell may never see the playing field and possibly be a silent reason others are successful.

It's amazing how Leatherwood has underperformed. As an Outland trophy winner and from Alabama, a guy who has all the prototypical tools and can't get it right, amazes me. But that's how the NFL goes. It's the best of the best of the best.

Now we know. As long as Lord Poles is our GM there will be no short armed tackles... https://beargoggleson.com/posts/chicago-bears-gm-drafting-peter-skoronski

Current Roster
I'm thinking we're good at G, LB, WR and corner. A move TE, swing tackle and backup free safety are the big upgrade opportunities. We're on the verge of BPA only drafts.
