  1. Thank you for the correction. I thought he had another year. That being said, if we could get a couple of picks for him, I'd do it knowing Herbert can play. He's not elite enough to pay over 10 mil/yr.
  2. Agreed on Monty. If we are offered a great trade for him, I would entertain it. In the meantime, Herbert is capable to take over if something like that happens. I definitely look at trading Monty next year, especially if he is wanting a monster payday. In today's NFL, running backs are disposable unless they are elite.
  3. This is what I wanted last year, so better late than never. I honestly believe a year of struggle as constant underdogs is good for the strength of a man. Plus, a year of reset will put the team in a position to be faster. Once evaluations and players meetings are done, cut the ones that don't have the heart or production. I personally don't care about the cap hit, because that should never define a roster. The thought of paying a turd player an extra year because you don't want the cap hit is the opposite message you want to send your team.(That's why I hated Pace and liked Angelo) We need six more blue chip players according to Polian, so how do we go from six to twelve? Two of our six are on the wrong side of 30, so they won't be blue chippers by the time we call them part of the twelve, so I trade Mack and Quinn and hopethe young guys step up. Our greatest need for blue chip players is on offense, so we build that first. That will help Fields grow into a serviceable starter and hopefully the superstar he can be. You need 2 WR, 2 OL, QB and TE or RB to be studs to have a championship offense. As of now, we have Monty. For now keep him and draft another RB. I like the idea of trading him before signing him to a big extension. If Herbert and the rookie play well, go with them. As you can see, we are going backwards on blue choppers. Fields, Jenkins, Kmet, Herbert, Daniels, Gipson and Graham all have the ability to add their names to the list. A big draft comes into play and we have a roster that's young, hungry and willing to compete next year. Better cap situation will follow, then we can properly use free agency. NO MORE TRADING AWAY PICKS! Did I mention I hate Pace...?
  4. Blue chippers he is referring to are difference makers.
  5. I would say Jaylon Johnson over Mooney. Mooney doesn't scare anyone, but he is a solid keeper.
  6. According to the NFL.Com scouting report, Jenkins is a boom or bust prospect. What podcast are you referring to? I'm curious...
  7. My guess is no. Borom actually looks to be a more suitable tackle than Jenkins. Arm length is very important in an offensive tackle in the NFL and Jenkins has stubs. I can honestly see him moving inside and becoming the next Kyle Long. If I'm Poles, I'm praying Jason Peters can play one more season.
  8. This is an interesting take from Jason Whitlock, formerly on the Sports Reporters. https://fb.watch/aZaxNfp9p4/
  9. He can go there and continue his dominance over the Lions...?
  10. Three trades. Take a look at the 6th and 7th round players I got. Both can potentially play OT with their athleticism. The OG is a former TE. Both have good feet when you watch the film.
  11. I wish they would have hired the douche, so we could wipe the smug look out of his face twice a year.
  12. So Polian was actually on the payroll since the middle of last January. (Nice stealth on that one George) Polian evaluated every player, coach and inside personnel. He made very clear that George led the process. He gave Bill total control of the football side of interviewing. Bill recommended Poles and George was in love with him. As far as our roster was concerned, he said we have 6 blue chip players and that you need 12, so they have much work to do. There is a plan, but he doesn't see it coming together this year. It's going to take some time. Loves Justin Fields but doesn't think he was put in a position to succeed. (Thus, some of thinking the brass pulled the plug on his season) To no surprise, he identified the OL as the weakest link and that it's imperative to get that right when developing a QB ?. Lastly, he was asked if he was offered an actual position with the team and he told them upfront that would not happen, so he was noncommittal, lol...
  13. If interested, my man, Bill Polian is interviewing on ESPN1000 today at 3p Chicago time. It will include everything from late October until now. Check it out on Waddle and Silvey!
  14. Not in particular. Note Dame and IU are my college teams.
  15. So I did a draft today and it is a pipe dream. I only traded back in the second round to gain more picks. It took about 2 hours to complete this due to researching every player. All needs, all good fits!
  16. I love a good conspiracy theory, so I am going to believe Flores' owner did bribe him to lose games. IE: tank for Tua. What we know as fact, is that minorities are getting hosed, by the NFL owners, in regards to management and head coaching positions. Is it racial or cultural? Do the owners think the minority coaches have a lesser work ethic and acumen for higher positions? It reminds me of the evolution of the black quarterback. I'm thankful the Bears aren't part of this type of idiocy.
  17. I think that's a direct testament to Bill Polian being in house since late October. Seems like he remade the George and Ted dynamic. Not only that, but thank goodness they bought in!
  18. Totally this. Poles talks about building from a concrete foundation. He doesn't subscribe to quick fixes and big free agent splashes. Since he wants to build through the draft, I'm still hoping we can acquire a few more picks this year. We won't have an opportunity to use four different franchises scouting intell next year.
  19. The only thing that would bother me is if he calls Fangio.
  20. Good. I'd love nothing more than to see our boys own his ass, just like Ohio State did. I still say Singletary built that team Harbaugh took to the Superbowl.
  21. I liked it. Poles and Eberflus seemed genuine and on the same page. There is a different optimism with these two, as it seems like they are polar opposites of Nagy and Pace. Games will be won and lost in the trenches. That's makes an old OT/DL happy.
  22. The Broncos got a second and third rounder in this years draft for Miller, but agreed to pay most of this year's salary.
  23. Totally agree with this part. I'm simply looking at a great draft opportunity that will not occur next year. We currently have top intell from 4 teams with no way to capitalize. I was willing to sacrifice last season, and now willing to sacrifice this one.

    New Defense?

I do know that Eberflus doesn't blitz much, but does send bigger bodies into coverage zones if he wants to rush anyone of the back seven. He also uses nickel 65% of the time.
