  1. You just need to setup an account. Those articles are for "members" only. No cost currently associated with membership
  2. Anyone else notice the the massive amount of stories out there about how the Bears are fools for signing Forte to an extension? All I saw before today was pay the man, now they are considered idiots for doing so. Except with the new CBA a player can only be franchised 3 times.
  3. If I recall correctly local markets of teams on NFLnetwork should shown the game on a local channel as well.
  4. I think a case could be made for Hester. He had a better average than Peterson. Also its widely accepted that he will not have another 4 TD return season. Not saying he couldn't but I wouldn't bet on it.
  5. Not to mention that this is in OTAs. Who knows the real reason he is lining up there. Maybe they want to get a look at him and maybe they needed someone to stand in at FB for a couple of plays and he volunteered.
  6. Update: Brandon Marshall on Waddle and Silvy Case still open according to Marshall
  7. I think it also has to do with the rookie wage scale. Not really a lot of wiggle room for contracts, so I would expect a lot of teams to get their draft picks signed early this year.
  8. Chicago Bears 1 (19) Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse 2 (50) Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina 3 (79) Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma 4 (111) Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin 5 (150) Matt Reynolds, OT/OG, BYU 6 (184) Charles Mitchell, SS, Mississippi State 7 (220) Derek Dennis, OG, Temple http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/09000d5d828..._content_stream
  9. I read that he supposedly is looking for larry fitzgerald money. which is a big reason no one went after him for only a first rounder when the steelers were close to the cap
  10. I just saw today on NFL network that it was for shoulder surgery he had a few weeks back and that it was known that he wouldn't pass a physical. Which leads me to believe that they were just looking for a reason to cut him. As far as why cut a guy so early, one reason that comes to mind is a life threaten condition. Think Gaines Adams. If his heart condition been caught in the off season don't you think they would've let him go if he refused to retire?
  11. ESPN is reporting that he was cut for failing a physical. I know this day and age that could mean anything, but i'd be cautious
  12. open tryouts are optional for teams. Not sure if the Bears have then. I read that the Eagles hold one each year, but its mainly just for local college players that aren't high on any of the scouts radars. Even then they supposedly do things such as run the 40 and bench press drills to weed out 99% of the people who show up. But there is always a chance I suppose. If they had a tryout locally I would go to it just to experience it. Of course I'm not very big so wouldn't be up for much contact with massive mounds of muscle. I can however kick a football fairly well. I could totally be a camp kicker/punter who is gone on the first cut!
  13. I didn't see what they signed him to do, so maybe its not to play. Maybe he is going to be picking up all the jock straps in the locker room after the game. Lord knows he has had plenty of practice picking his own up during the games the last few years.
  14. I can't find which article it was now, but i read this morning that the police are reviewing the security footage from the club. Of course there is no guarantee it will condemn/exonerate Marshall if the incident is obscured by people or if the angle is bad.
  15. i'd say at this junction we had better take either DE or OT. Whichever has the better player available at 19.
  16. I'd much rather have Williams. Elite pass rushers are way rarer than number 1 receivers. Plus the Bears offense was starting to roll when Cutler went down. We may not have the type of receivers that strike fear in the heart of opposing teams, but if we can consistently put points on the board who cares?
  17. Espn reports it as first round picks in 2013 and 2014 as well as number 6 pick and their second round pick this year. So the rams have the 6, 33, and 39th picks this year
  18. I'm no expert by far, but I believe the way it works is the cap count is the yearly salary plus the bonus divided up along all of the years of the contract... so at 10mil a year with a 5 mil bonus on a 4 year contract would equate to a 11.25 mil cap number... anyone please feel free to correct any incorrect information.
  19. Just watched the live interview with Lovie on NFL network. He said as of now Cutler will have the surgery and they expect him back before the end of the regular season. In regards to the thumb itself, it largely depends on the location of the fracture on whether he could just play with it. It's not an all out break as he wouldn't have been able to hold the ball at all. I fractured my thumb near the first nuckle during a soccer game once in a similar scenario of landing on it like he did. I was a goalkeeper and I played the rest of the game although every time the ball hit me in the hands it hurt like hell. When I got in my car after the game I was unable to press the button on the shifter to change gears with my thumb. If Cutler's fracture is a similar location I can tell you that I had a cast on for 3 weeks then had to wear a splint for 2 weeks during activities. Of course this was also 13 years ago and I came from a middle class family. Not sure what today's technology and millions of dollars can provide in terms of recovery.
  20. I'm not entirely certain but isn't he not fined with a tag because he is not under contract until he signs the tender? And doesn't he have until sometime in October to sign it or something like that?
  21. Per the trib.. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3260085.story He'd be a welcome addition if his knee is sound.
  22. so the picks on espn are out. Everyone picks the saints... except.... Da Coach!
  23. Well if we are going to go with 1 of those 5 were because Cutler held the ball to long then that only puts 2 on the line. I'm ok with that. but then again i'm not the one getting sandwiched by 300 lb men running full speed either.
  24. I would say it was only three sacks on the line. One was when Jay fumbled the snap and dove on it. and the other was when he slid behind the line to stay in bounds at the end of the game. In both instances thats not really the fault of the line. nor are those really sacks.
