That doesn't even address one of your main issues!!! You wanted OL help THIS YEAR.
-
I still think Mettenburger is a very good prospect. The Titans have other issues, and it makes more sense for them to go with Williams.

Issues: AZ54 - More WR prioritization, RB depth addressed, Deprioritize QB Dawhizz - More WR prioritization, Must address 2015 Offensive holes [NO-MANNION] Stinger - More WR prioritization [NO-ARIE KUOANDJIO] bear trap - RB depth addressed, [NO-LANDON COLLINS, SAMMIE COATES] Taking all those things into consideration, and the recent minor hiccup with Forte... 2015 MOCK DRAFT 3.0 1.20- Jordan Phillips, NT, OK 2.39- Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, OK 2.52- Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke 3-Duke Johnson, RB, Miami 4-Kurtis Drummond, FS, Mich. St. 5-Za'Darius Smith, OLB, Kentucky 6-Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada I'm not sure there is a draft we can all agree upon, especially because I view prioritization of the RB position to be a very bad, unnecessary move. Ignoring my opinion on that minor matter, however, what are the issues with that draft?

I've thought the same thing, but the prevailing thought is that WR is needed. Alshon - 1300 would be about the midway point from the past two years Royal - 600 would be a dip from the last two years Bennett - 800 average Forte - 600 average, and Fox likes to use RBs in the passing game Wilson - 200? Carey - 100? Rookie - How much is there to dish out? Two scenarios: 1) Alshon turns into Brandon Marshall (without lockeroom issues), and the rookie steps right into the #2 Alshon role. Result - Rookie gets about 900yds? That likely means less production from Royal, Bennett, Forte. So instead of 2000 combined, let's call it 1600. 1300+1600+900+200+100 2) Alshon steps up, but not quite as much, which means the Bears have to rely on the vets more, and the rookie less. Result - Rookie gets about 500yds, and the Royal+Bennett+Forte combo gets close to their 2000 number. 1300+2000+500+200+100 Either way, I see about 4000 yards. And, before anyone asks, yes, I realize it's more than last year. I think the combo of new coaches, and the lack of dependancy on Marshall, will allow Cutler to flourish.

Much appreciated. Likewise. I really get into this stuff, and love everything about football. I spend waaaay too much time doing this stuff.

Is there any way for us to have a draft that everyone would like? First premise: We'd all like a trade-down if possible. Solution: Mariota falls, Chip Kelly trades up. Eagles send: 1.20, 2.52, 2016 2nd rd pick Bears sent: 1.7 Now the Bears have a mid/late 1st rounder, two 2nd round picks, and a 2016 2nd. In my last mock I proposed the following: 2015 MOCK DRAFT 1.0 1.20- Landon Collins, S, Alabama 2.39- Eddie Goldman, NT, FSU 2.52- Bernardrick McKinney, ILB, MSU 3-Hronis Grassu, C, Oregon 4-Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon St. 5-Shaquille Mason, OG, GT 6-Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke Problem 1-AZ54 doesn't like McKinney, and would prefer WR at that spot. Dawhizz and Stinger both think WR needs to go earlier. Problem 2-AZ54 would like to see RB depth addressed on day 3. Problem 3-Dawhizz doesn't think it addresses enough 2015 offensive holes, noting the OL deficiencies. Problem 4-Dawhizz doesn't like Mannion that much. Redraft: 2015 MOCK DRAFT 2.0 1.20- Landon Collins, S, Alabama 2.39- Eddie Goldman, NT, FSU 2.52- Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn 3-Arie Kouandjio, G, Alabama 4-Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State 5-Za'Darius Smith, OLB, Kentucky 6-Karlos Williams, RB, FSU P1 - McKinney is gone, and Sammie Coates gets picked in the second round. Huge upside and will contribute immediately. P2 - Karlos Williams, check. P3 - Kouandjio starts at RG, Long moves to OT. P4 - Grayson replaces Mannion. Based on those moves, other changes obviously had to be made. Who would have a problem with that draft?
-
Patience grasshopper. I had pressing work this morning. With their second round selection, the San Francisco 49ers select Sammie Coates WR Auburn. Torrey Smith and Jerome Simpson made the brass feel a little more comfortable, but not comfortable enough. Looks like a match made in heaven since Coates has massive skills, athletic ability, and an immense ceiling. KKD and the Dolphins are on the clock.
-
That was more than likely based on potential and draft position. Orton had/has a low ceiling, and Tebow at that time was unknown. Hell, for that matter, I wouldn't mind seeing Tebow visit Chicago. Dude is just one of those guys who knows how to win. It's nearly impossible to put into stats, but he does. And at least the people who hate Cutler's throws won't go crazy with Tebow making the same type of mistakes - because we all know Tebow is going to take off and run, and run well, if his first read isn't there.
-
I don't dislike Kendricks. I just think Shaq has great potential and is a superb play-maker. He's just one of those guys who is around the ball and has a knack for big plays.
-
1. S 2. OG 3. DE 4. WR
-
They'd trade their 1 and 2, and a pick next year. That pick next year would have to be something high as well, either a 1 or 2. Based on the trade value chart, that works.
-
The draft goes: 1. Winston 2. Williams 3. Fowler 4. White 5. Beasley 6. Ray Mariota is there at 7 and Chip Kelly comes calling. He offers his 1st (20), his 2nd (52), and something next year to move up. Pace happily accepts. 1.20- Landon Collins, S, Alabama 2.39- Eddie Goldman, NT, FSU 2.52- Bernardrick McKinney, ILB, MSU 3-Hronis Grassu, C, Oregon 4-Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon St. 5-Shaquille Mason, OG, GT 6-Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke 7-Deshazor Everett, CB, TX A&M
-
I'd like that quite a bit. I prefer Cooper over White since compliments Alshon better, and I don't like the UVA safety, but that would be a good draft in my mind.
-
The Bears select AJ Cann, OG, South Carolina. A.J. Cann...start immediately. Picking the #1 true OG in the draft is inarguable value, and sets up the much talked about move of Long to OT. Don't like Armistead. Shaq has question marks. Too early for QB or RB. Almost went with McKinney out of MSU, but felt Cann was a higher value. Jordan Phillips was the second choice, but his back injury history, laziness, and uncertainty on the Bears roster made the Cann pick easier to swallow. New York Giants (Adam) on the clock.
-
2.1 - The Titans select Ronald Darby, CB, FSU. TB (Stinger) on the clock. You know Lovie is itching to pick a DB from a division II school.
-
Best case scenario is if Mariotta falls to us at 7 so we can trade out. We should not be trading any picks to go higher unless something absolutely ridiculous happens.
-
No, no. Don't misinterpret. Your post: Then Stinger followed up with: I simply listed the number of players that were in similar positions at his size. I don't disagree with the assessment that someone his size has a harder time getting off blocks than someone with 10-15 more pounds of muscle. That's just common sense. I disagree with the notion that someone his size can't get off those blocks. The players I listed are testament to how a smaller LB can survive and thrive in the NFL. I wouldn't mind seeing him drafted by the Bears as an ILB, and then we should have him gain that requisite 10lbs of muscle while teaching him how to better shed blocks. I think what he lacks more than size is knowledge and skill in shedding off blocks.
-
CJ Mosley with the Ravens was pretty good last year wasn't he? Pro-bowl his rookie year? 6'2", 235lbs. BTW, Darryl Smith, the other starting ILB for the Ravens is the same weight. Other examples: Lawrence Timmons, ILB, Steelers - 6'1" 234lbs David Hawthore, ILB, Saints - 6'0" 230lbs Curtis Lofton, ILB, Saints - 6'2" 238lbs Navorro Bowman, ILB, 49ers - 6'1" 230lbs Brad Jones, ILB, Packers - 6'3" 230lbs London Fletcher, ILB, Skins - 5'10" 245lbs Perry Riley, ILB, Skins - 6'1" 238lbs So Shaq has to gain less than 10lbs and he's the same size as all the other guys. I went ahead and included London Fletcher since he's so short, ya know, to show that the height/weight combo isn't everything. BTW - I didn't look at all teams. I just checked out the teams I could recall running a 3-4.

The lack of Collins and Grassu has more to do with the availability of other players in later rounds than anything. I felt like a FS is available in the mid-rounds, and the early pick could be used elsewhere. I honestly think Hronis Grassu will go late second, which didn't fit the mock I was doing. I tried to be realistic to an extent, despite the unrealistic concept.

I was thinking about the uncertainty of our draft, and wondered if you guys would rather see, if it happened, an all offense draft or all defense draft? For instance: 1 - Amari Cooper, WR, Bama 2 - Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon 3 - Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA 4 - Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn 5 - Shaquille Mason, G, Georgia Tech 6 - Dominique Brown, RB, Louisville OR 1 - Vic Beasley, DE/OLB, Clemson 2 - Shaq Thompson, ILB, Washington 3 - Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon 4 - Derron Smith, S, Fresno State 5 - Joey Mbu, NT, Houston 6 - Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M Try to make one semi-acceptable. It's tough.
-
I like the first one quite a bit. The second one makes me throat-punch the author. That would be atrocious.
-
Why do you say that? I have a friend who is a huge UW fan, and he thinks Shaq could easily be an ILB. He's got a ton of athleticism. Always around the ball. Play-maker. How is he not fit to be an ILB?
-
I'd be pretty happy with that. Especially the start.
