  1. I must have missed the plays with the running lanes. There was one that I saw, and it was the draw for a first down that caught the packers off-guard. I'd say the passing game is more of a mixed bag. The OL's protection has been bad, but not atrocious. And Cutler's accuracy has been bad when he's had some time.
  2. NEGATIVE I'd say the Bears would get a D or an F for the first half. -Offensive Play calling: D -Defensive Play calling: C- -QB play: D -OL play: F -RB play: C+ -WR play: C POSITIVE -The Packers are only up 14-0 -The Bears offense has moved the ball somewhat. -The Bears get the ball first in the second half. I have not lost hope. But some serious changes need to happen.
  3. When the former director of officiating for the NFL sees an instant replay, and thinks that it should be an incompletion, and the instant replay shows NOT ONLY the ball hitting the ground between the DB's hands, but also showing it move, thne how the hell does the interception stand? I thought it was an INT, but after the replay I was positive that it was an incompletion.
  4. Well, so much for that. Poorly throw pass. I like the one-on-one opportunity for Knox, but the ball has to be deeper and over the back shoulder.
  5. HUGE break for the Bears on a freak play. Off the WRs foot. Gotta get points here.
  6. Please read my shit before making stupid comments. He has made ONE stupid throw. The kind that people give him grief about. ONE. His accuracy to Hester is something else. He simply missed some throws. But they weren't bad decisions.
  7. Dude, it was 3rd and 7. What play should have been called? The packers knew it was a pass, everyone knew it was a pass. The packers just happened to send a blitz through a massive hole in protection. Looked like Cutler went from one read to another, and by the time he got to the second guy, he got hit.
  8. Yet another protection breakdown. Surprise.
  9. I've actually only seen Cutler make one stupid throw...the one that Olsen just knocked down. Other than that, he's played smartly. Accuracy to Hester? That's another issue. As for Martz, it looks like the second quarter has had a lot more protection in there. Successful? Not so much. I would say, however, that he's not calling a great game. I'd like more short routes, slants...ya know...like the Packers are murdering the Bears with. The one thing that is without contention is that the OL is playing horribly, as usual. Even when Martz dials up something that looks promising, the OL has continually jacked it up.
  10. Risky throw by Cutler. Horrible effort by the OL.
  11. But hasn't that been the case THE ENTIRE SEASON!? On both lines?
  12. Agreed. That was horseshit. That was not a hold. The guy slipped and it made the block look like a hold. Cost the Bears at least three points. In officiating clinics, from the NFL to high school, they say you should see the entire play, and it should be a penalty that stands out to the guy in the nose-bleeds. They say you should act like a cop, and you never pull someone over for 56 in a 55. You get'em for 70 in a 55. That "hold" was a 56 in a 55.
  13. That's three, THREE, passes that Cutler has missed Hester when he has been open. Huge. The first one would have had the Bears on the Packers 10. The second was Hester on a drag outlet that would have gone for decent yards. The third was probably a missed TD. Huge.
  14. That's what I think. I hate the way this defense plays, regardless of the results. It is a philosophy that contends one of two things: 1) The other team will make a mistake 2) The defense will cause the other team to turn the ball over Percentage-wise, it's hard to argue with. I admit that. The problem is, with sound teams who have decent offensive lines, the QB just has to sit back and find the gaps in the zone. Or throw slants all day, apparently. It's even worse - as we have seen this game - when the Bears' front four gets stoned, and the LBs can't fill the gaps, because they it opens up the run as well.
  15. I wouldn't say it's over, but it's not looking good.
  16. That was 5 successful slants. Lucky the OL had a FS. We'll call it 4.5.
  17. Wow. Just wow. Worst OL in the NFL, and it's not even close. Anyone who says that the Bears first and second priorities in the draft aren't OL just haven't been watching the games. Unreal.
  18. After the first drive, I would have called that an F- quarter. Now, however, I'd say it's a C. Positives: -The beginnings of room in the running game -The beginning of pressure on D -Peppers destroying the OTs -Decent coverage by the Bears secondary Negatives: -Field position -Horrible OL play on a sack and a FS -Bad overthrow by Cutler on a play that could have been huge -Hester has been neutralized on ST
  19. Remind me again why the Bears blitz so infrequently?
  20. I could've sworn it was 4. But you're probably right. I guess anger blinded me. 5 on 3, and they can't stop it. Pathetic.
  21. Deep slant, again. I think that is four if you're counting.
  22. That had very little to do with Cutler not getting rid of the ball. What did he have, 1 second before the pocket collapsed? That's what a horrible OL gets you.
  23. That sack pisses me off. Five on the OL, with no TE or RB help. There is no way the Bears shit OL can stop the packers four man rush. I hate this OL right now. And I'm pissed that Martz insists on trusting them. As if the entire season was not a big clue. Round 1: OL. Round 2: OL. Round 3: OL. Etc.
  24. Peppers was huge that drive. Two QB pressures led to two quick throws. Big series for the Bears.
  25. Slant...again. It's just pitch and catch at this point. The defense is playing like shit.
