  1. Not a fan at all. Worked for Big Cat, but there were so many other positions changes that didn't work. Too many to even mention, particularly with the OL.
  2. Regarding Vea, what position would he play? I don't think he has the ability to play the 3-4 end. And we already have Goldman.
  3. I know this is unlikely, but I'm thinking more and more I hate the #8 spot. I think Nelson and Chubb will be gone, and I don't like anyon else at #8 a lot. So my dream is a trade down with Buffalo. They obviously need QB, and a ton of articles online think they are poised to make a move. They moved up for a reason, and it wasn't to sit still at #12 and hope. Trade #1 BUFFALO 1.12 = 1200 3.65 = 265 CHICAGO 1.8 = 1400 From there I want the Bears to drop down into the late teens or early 20s. That would net them another early 3rd, or a late 2nd for the fee of moving up. So let's say for fun they trade down to 23, because NE is so unpredictable and it's random. Trade #2 NE 1.23 = 760 2.43 = 470 CHICAGO 1.12 = 1200 That leaves the Bears with a ton of picks. The following is just one of many enticing possibilities: 1.23 - Roquan Smith, ILB, UGA - Great spot for an ILB pickup like Smith. 2.39 - Billy Price, C/G, OSU - Great fit and versatility. 2.43 - Lorenzo Carter, OLB, UGA - Let's just get all the UGA 'backers. 3.65 - Brandon Parker, OT, North Carolina A&T - I still like the idea of getting Cohen his boy. 4.105 - Simmie Cobbs Jr, WR, Indiana - Huge WR. I like this guy a lot. 4.115 - J.C. Jackson, CB, Maryland - Great athlete with off the field issues. 5.145 - Lowell Lotulelei, DT, Utah - Goldman insurance. 6.181 - Riley Ferguson, QB, Memphis - Dark horse who left UT. I saw him play in person and was impressed. 7.224 - Eddy Pineiro, K, Florida - It's time. I hope he slips.

    My Draft

I like the names on the original draft, but I don't like Tremaine Edmunds at #8 in the 1st round.
  5. No trades. Do not submit a mock of your own. Just comment about which players you like/dislike, which positions you think are valued/undervalued. Adam - Alaska - Ashkum - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 G/C, Need 3 ILB, Need 4 WR (NO RD1 WR, Likes Isaiah Wynn OG/UGA, Wyatt Teller OG/VT) AZ54 - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 G/C, Need 3 OT/CB/ILB/WR/S/DE (Likes Carlton Davis CB/AUB) Bears4Ever - Boston Boxer - Bowlingtwig - Need 1 WR, Need 2 OLB (Likes OG Nelson RD1) Chile - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 OL (No worthy OLB at #8) Chitownhustla - Connor - Daventry - Dawhizz - DBDB - High on Lorenzo Carter killakrzydav - Lemon - Need 1 OL, Need 2 CB, Need 3 OLB, Need 4 WR (High on LBs) Lucky Luciano - Late RD kicker MadLithuanian - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 OT, Need 3 WR, Need 4 CB Mongo - BPA with 2 OL + Front 7 D NYC - Need 1 WR, Need 2 OLB, Need 3 CB, Need 4 OL (Include ILB as potential RD1) / (OL + Front 7) / (No Arden Key until RD3) Pixote - scs787 - Stinger - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 OG, Need 3 ILB/CB/WR/OT 2018 EVERYONE AGREES MOCK - VER 1.0 1. Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame - No OLB available worth the spot. 2. Lorenzo Carter, 3-4OLB, UGA - Incredible athlete & Floyd clone. 4. Kevin Toliver II, CB, LSU - Great size for a CB. 4. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, 3-4OLB, Oklahoma - More of a hybrid ILB/OLB. 5. Alex Cappa, OT, Humboldt State - Nastiest tape Mayock's ever seen? Scratches Pace's small school itch. 6. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, S. Florida - He's 6'4" and ran a 4.37. Worth the risks. 7. Matt Dickerson, 3-4DE, UCLA - Dude had 21 tackles in 1 game. The Bears can use him.
  6. Excellent comment. I don't see this Howard trade making sense. Trading Howard creates a problem that doesn't need to exist. He's already elite, and has room to improve in the pass catching game. I think he'll explode in this offense.
  7. I HATE, HATE the idea of trading up. HATE. If the Bears are going to trade down, here's how I feel about the trade options: Indy - I'd trade out of the first for three 2nd round picks and a late round flyer to make up the difference. Buffalo - I don't see that happening, but I'd love to see multiple first round picks. Arizona - Good placing in each round. I like this one the least.
  8. Agree. I don't want a WR unless it's late and the Bears have already traded down. If the Bears get OL help the WRs will sort themselves out.
  9. We've often disagreed in the past, and have agreed more often than not recently, but we're back to disagreeing. I'd LOVE Arden Key in the 2nd round. He's probably the best 3-4OLB in the entire draft. I don't really think Edmunds fits at 3-4OLB. Also, Orlando Brown would be a steal in the 2nd. If he's there in the late second, I would want the Bears to trade up for him. Bench press reps be damned. That dude is a massive OT who will start and do well in the NFL.
  10. OK. I'll run this thing like in years past. First, here is what I have compiled for the group: Ashkum - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 OT, Need 3 WR, Need 4 CB (NO RD1 WR) AZ - Need 1 OLB Boston - bowling - Need 1 WR, Need 2 OLB (YES OG Nelson RD1) lemonej - Need 1 OL, Need 2 CB, Need 3 OLB, Need 4 WR Lucky - Late RD kicker madlithuanian - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 OT, Need 3 WR, Need 4 CB Mongo - NYC - Need 1 WR, Need 2 OLB, Need 3 CB, Need 4 OL Stinger - Need 1 OLB, Need 2 OT, Need 3 WR, Need 4 CB TD - If FA has changed your opinion, please let me know. Also, since OLB is a high priority, please indicate if you think Tremaine Edmunds fits as a 3-4 OLB.

    OL

I'm all aboard the OL train. More protection for Trubisky means more time for him to throw, and less worry for a young QB. We all saw how a perpetually shit OL can alter a good QB into a timid QB with bad footwork.
  12. Most years I get to watch the entire combine. Either live or recorded. This year I didn't, so I don't have as good of a handle as normally. So... Which guys have risen on your personal charts? Mid round guys who might have moved to bottom first. Nobodies who are now mid round guys. And also the late round sleepers. Who's the guy the Bears should get with a big surprise?

  14. I've thought a lot about this, and I've flipped around on both sides. Ultimately, however, it comes to certainty. Right now, Howard is a certainty. He's been a stud on a garbage offense. He may not perfectly fit into Nagy's system, but his status as a certainty is undeniable. Similarly, Landry to be a certainty. Conversely, he's a slot WR. He'll never be the #1 who scares opposing defenses. It's pretty safe to assume he'll fit into Nagy's offense, but it's not 100%. Then there is the additional worry that he'll want a massive contract, one in the top-ten of WRs. He is not worthy of a top-ten contract. Ultimately, Howard is better at RB than Landry is at WR, but mostly because Landry is a slot. The Bears shouldn't fill a hole by creating a hole at RB. In a draft that is deep at RB and super-deep at WR, it doesn't make a ton of sense to create a hole at RB where one is not needed. It's smarter to just draft a WR. Ideally, trade down and draft two.

    Orlando Brown

If the Bears traded down and aquired a few more picks, I’d say early third would be a steal. The red flag is there, but the tape doesn’t lie.

    Consensus Top 7

The bolded is a good point. Assuming, however, Barkley is gone to Indy (makes complete sense)... Barkley + QB --or-- QB + Chubb/Nelson If I were Cleveland, I still think Barkley + QB makes a bigger splash and reinvigorates the fanbase.
  17. Wow. That's a bit heavy handed in my opinion. Barry Sanders, Herschel Walker, and Ricky Williams were easily better prospects. Adrian Peterson was arguably a better prospect.

    Consensus Top 7

Cleveland would be smarter to go Saquon Barkley first. There will be a chance to get a star QB at #4 no matter what happens, but Barkley is not guaranteed. CLE- Barkley NYG- Rosen IND- Chubb CLE- Darnold DEN- Nelson NYJ- Mayfield TB- Fitzpatrick CHI- Edmunds
  19. It'd be different if they were good at their jobs. The front office personnel for the Bears have been ridiculously bad for quite some time. Angelo knew money at least. Otherwise, the Bears have been one of the worst two or three drafting teams in the NFL. I saw a chart last year or the year before that they had the lowest percentage of home grown talent in the NFL. Pace has been hit or miss drafting, but at least I like his style. He's not playing it safe by any means.

    McPhee cut

Multiple sources reporting McPhee is cut.
  21. :D :D In that case, I change my opinion. He looks like a 3rd rounder with crazy promise to me, but now that I know Mel Tucker held him back, I'm fine with him in the late first.
  22. The Bears would be crazy not to take that trade.
  23. Lorenzo Carter as a second rounder would be more pallatable. I still don’t think he’s got the burst required, but maybe his athleticism can make up for it. If he does produce crazy numbers at the combine, then i question his output in games.
  24. Good point! That's awesome. I hadn't even considered the trade up for an OG. Seems unlikely, but opening up a glaring hole at OG certainly gives the outward appearance that the Bears may be selecting an OG. With the QB fervor and now the "will they draft an OG at 8?"-question, I'll be more disappointed than ever if the Bears don't trade down. This is the perfect situation and the perfect draft for it.
