It's been rumored, but now it's pretty much a sure bet: Weis is gone This should be an easy one. 1. Fire Turner 1a. Punch him in the gut on the way out of Halas Hall 2. Contact Weis publicly 3. Hire Weis as "OC" (wink wink nudge nudge) 4. At the end of the season, fire Lovie 4a. If it costs too much, keep Lovie around but give the real power to Weis 5. At the end of the next season, fire Lovie 5a. Punch Lovie in the gut on the way out of Halas Hall 6. If the offense is doing well, and living up to expectation, promote Weis Easy.

LOL. This is hilarious because it's so ridiculous that turning over the reigns to someone previously proven incompetent would possibly be an improvement.
-
Oh, surprise, surprise, yet another person who thinks Urlacher would be better in a system that doesn't suck.

Reading the article, it sounds like Brian is having some fun while away. Fun like this:

Regarding the final comment, there is no way in hell Jauron should have won that award. Many on this board, myself included, didn't think he should have won it, and didn't want him to win it. It was all smoke and mirrors, and the Bears won because that defense was NASTY. Jauron, much like Shoop, hindered the team more than helping it. The coach of the year award that year proved to me that the voters don't actually watch the games, and only look at the stats and highlight reels.

Ahhh...why do you torment me? Wanny's emotion was the equivalent of a hyper infant throwing a fit because he can't stop something from happening. The only difference is, the infant would have a bushy molestache.

One more reason why I absolutely hate Farv, and hope he gets injured. Yeah, I said it. He's the only guy in the NFL that deserves to get injured. His deal with the devil has run its course.
-
Agreed. But we don't know annnnyyyything because we're just fans, and we aren't in the NFL. Yet again, the majority of this message board is proven right, while the Bears staff is proven wrong. But, yeah, we are the ones who don't know anything.

LOL Got me before the edit.

Doesn't EVERYONE love the 3rd and long strategy of "we're blitzing! No we're not"-cover2 drop back that continually gets the Bears success play after play? It's unreal how good it works on third down! Lovie and his system are awesome!! I'm so glad he took over the defensive playcalling duties this year!
-
If by "gold star" you mean "pink slip for Lovie," then, yes.
-
Get it right. It's "Zombie Lovie."
-
How many games in a row are the Bears going to have three offsides penalties on the DL who, for some reason, think they can magically guess the opposing team's snap count? That is a lack of discipline, period. And at a certain point, dumb penalties like that have to reflect in the staff.

All I'm going to say is, I have been right for close to two and a half years., and the Bears front office has been wrong. The Bears have desperately needed an OL, and the bandaid has finally fallen off this season (perfectly punctuated by that last Bears possession). It is just too bad that under the bandaid there was a gushing head wound. EVERYTHING this offseason should be about firing the coaches and getting OL help in both FA and the draft.
-
Has there ever, EVER, been a HC more ignorantly stubborn, more ridiculously incompetent, more hilariously overmatched and bewildered by the ability to challenge via instant replay?! This guy constantly challenges the wrong plays, and looks baffled with that Zombie Lovie look when the call doesn't go his way. It' almost as if he's saying, "Yeah, I knew it, but I have these challenges so I may as well use them." And don't even get me started on the plays he DOESN'T challenge. It's time to put the pink paper into the printer so Lovie's pink slip is ready as soon as the season ends.

Beat me to.it. Cutler has had horrible luck. I can think of three OBVIOUS pass interferences that weren't called, two or three receivers falling down, one or two bad tips by the receivers, and the infamous "running into the Umpire"-interception.
-
Also, keep in mind it's yet another INT that will ultimately go to Cutler's stats, but isn't his fault. That's blatant DPI. And if there is no PI, Bennet more than likely catches it since he's had sticky hands since he first stepped on the field at Vandy. That's probably close to ten INTs that he either has no or little blame. But, yeah, it is ALL in Cutler.
-
and you know this how? Oh, right, you don't. Sadly, we'll never know Wolfe's potential until this staff is gone, because they don't know how to use their own players. I'm sure if the Bears had Dareen Sproles you'd be saying the same thing.
-
I am glad I don't waste my time with it, because anyone who says the #1 problem is not the OL is someone who hasn't watched the games, is a liar, is willfully ignorant, or is a complete idiot.
-
yes, because the two have clearly been on the field equal amounts (not saying they should have been) and been given equal, game-time opportunities to show their worth in situations that benefit their talents. If Briggs were managed the same way Wolfe has been, he would have been in in third and long only, and used primarily as a safety.

Sorry, dude, it was the end of the thread. Saying the OL played well against the Eagles is like patting an F average student on the head for getting a D+. The OL did not play well. They played well for them. NFO's post about how the Bears coaching, offensive philosophy, and complete garbage on the OL is the end of this discussion when it concerns the thread's title: Cutler's Mechanics. We can talk about mechanics all we want, but when a guy is getting drilled over and over, and he knows he is going to get pressure on a three step drop, and he knows that he'll take a shot even though the defense is only sending four, sooner or later he's going to have to adjust to avoid injury. These guys aren't robots, and pain/fear will dictate their actions when the time comes. Does that mean Cutler shouldn't have hit Olsen, Hester, and Knox on the bombs? Clearly not. But I can surely understand why everything he knows about being a QB is changing in Chicago.
-
The square-peg, round-hole phenomenon has been one I've mentioned frequently. And that's the problem. Unless everyone involved is looking for good players that fit the system, it won't work. If they are looking for great players who fit other systems, it won't work. For instance, with this OL, the Bears need to draft Barry Sanders.
-
Singletary. The Niners aren't getting any better.

I didn't even read your entire post, and I pretty much agree. I am DISGUSTED at the third and long defense. Can we PLEASE not go into a zone, rush four guys who get nearly no penetration, and continually let the QB wait until someone finds a hole in the defense!? Please!? Lovie? Are you there? This is effing ridiculous. I was watching the game with my girlfriend and calling out the defense on third and long. I said to her more than once, "Watch this, they'll send four guys after the QB, get no pressure, and after about 5 seconds a WR will be open for the first down." She said, "Don't teams usually fail when it's 3rd down and more than ten?" I angrily said, "Yes, but not against the Bears." She astutely replied, "Well, why don't they change it up some? If you can tell, then surely the people who get paid to do this stuff can see what's coming." I nodded silently.
