That agent is an asshole. The Bears have traditionally been one of the first teams to sign rookies. This has been going on for years. Every year I look forward to reports that the Bears have signed everyone, and it usually comes really early. It's one thing the Bears have excelled at for years. This is very disappointing.

This article made me eyeroll. In other news, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, a midget, and Stephen Hawking would be the best starting five in a rec league. Grading the OLs as a unit without weighting them is nearly pointless.

I don't pay attention to the $ of the league very much, but I thought the rookie contracts were slotted? I thought there was very little wiggle room? The fact that MT isn't signed may not mean anything, but it pisses me off.

That's utter BS. Chicago Bears tickets are always marked up because they are always in high demand, regardless of how good the team is. This has been true for years. The only time you're getting cheap tickets is in the nose-bleeds at the end of the year after the team has been eliminated already.

I was thinking we'd go lower, not higher. Interesting. I'm guessing around 20-21 completions per game. Ball control and running. If the numbers are much higher, than I expect it will be because there are a lot of catches coming out of the backfield.

But that's 31 TD passes. I don't see a Bears QB going for that many, much less several more.

I hate the concept of Trubisky sitting for two years. Hate it. I also don't think it's a 100% positive if Glennon does well. There is the possibility of him doing well enough that he makes the team competitive, but not enough, and the Bears have a QB controversy the following year. There is also the possibility of him doing extremely well, and having minimal trade market because teams will know the Bears will want to start Trubisky.

Two things: First, are you saying the continuity between Long and Massie - due to their connection via offseason workouts - is the reason the Bears didn't go 0-16? Personally, I didn't really think it mattered that much since Massie wasn't that good. Second, your comments return me to the talks of Whitehair. Based on what you put above, and not a copy/paste from some scouting report, I'm not sure why you think moving Whitehair back to LT wouldn't work. The only reason I can see at this point is simply that he may just have better potential at G or C than at T in the pros. The switch, however, shouldn't be that big of an issue since he has tons of muscle memory there and excelled at it previously.

I understand that concept, but if that was the true intent, then why the hell didn't they just make the move before last year started?! That would have made the most sense. Especially since the line was in turmoil from the start. With Grasu taking nearly all the preseason snaps at C, and Whitehair taking nearly none, that was an immediate issue. Whitehair had almost all the LG snaps. So it made complete sense to make the move last year since Whitehair was finding a new home at C, and Sitton was finding a new home in Chicago. If the Bears are going for continuity, then this is not how to do it. Speaking of that... I thought you were all about OL continuity?! The Bears had arguably the best OG tandem and OL interior in the NFL. If anyone was against the move, I thought it would be you. I mean, if they sucked last year, then yeah, make the switch. Who cares about continuity when there are no results. But they had great success last year, and this move screws with that continuity. Not only that, but weren't you the one saying how difficult it is to switch sides on the OL? That it takes different muscles, different angles, and that it was really difficult to change?

You completely misunderstand. I don't wish bad luck or bad results for the Bears. I just expect it. That's the difference. Hell, I want a 16-0 season and a mack truck straight through the playoffs. But I just don't think that will happen (obviously). And the reason I don't think it will happen is the various puzzling decisions the team continues to make year after year after year, which you and I constantly have to try to understand or figure out.

If there is any player who doesn't need the easy road, it's White. He's apparently fragile. He needs as much of the minor stresses as possible. The minor trauma is what builds strength, forms callouses, toughens the mind, and teaches the body when and how to move to avoid the major problems. He appears to be one of those guys, in my opinion, who has taken the path of least resistance.

Both were first round picks moved around more than one time. That's the only real point I was making. Flipping Long and Sitton makes little sense. It is about the 10th best move they could make on the OL.

I don't think it will be. I think it will be worse than last year. I think they caught lightning in a bottle with Whitehair last year, and the new OL coach is going to dick it all up. Flipping guards is just the start. And Long isn't even healthy enough for OTAs, so his status right now is questionable.
