  1. Personally, I hope he ends up on the Giants somehow. I'd love to see what would happen on the practice field, and in the locker room, with him, Marshall, and OBJ.
  2. He started for the Saints last year. Got torched by Julio Jones, but he's a serviceable DB. This move should scare the hell out of Fuller, LeBlanc, and the two or three other guys at the bottom of the depth chart. This looks like a lot of Pace moves. He looks for guys who haven't quite hit their mark, but have upside. Other teams may look for guys who have already shown a bit more, and are potentials for exploding into a superstar. Pace is more of a Walmart shopper. I like that, because he's just trying to enhance the overall talent level of the roster, which is sorely needed.

    Scouting TEs

If that's the case, there is no way Leggett is rated below Kittle. Leggett is definitely higher. I think this would be my ranking at the current moment. Howard-rd1 Engram-rd2 Njoku-rd2 Leggett-rd3 Everett-rd3 Kittle-rd3 Hodges-rd4
  4. I don't think he's nearly as good as the reputation says. Their secondary is a collective beast. Having said that, CBs appear to age in dog years at a certain point (remember Revis island?), and I'm not sure I'd like him on the team. Last but not least, but probably most important, is the fact that the Bears have a fairly deep CB roster at the moment. Cooper is starting. Period. Amukamara is starter quality. Porter is starter quality. Fuller is on a contract year, so he'll play hard and appear starter quality. Leblanc looked promising last year.

You left out Jordan Leggett. He's probably just after Engram.
  6. This is easy. The Defense. Hence my concept of an all-defense draft. If the Bears drafted all defense this year, and spent one of those picks on an OT, they would likely make a big jump forward because last year's D was on the verge of being pretty good. 1. Jonathan Allen, DE, Bama 2. Budda Baker, FS, Wash 3. etc.. Problem is, everyone wants a QB this year too. So now the Bears have 7 picks, 5 of which are on D. Oops, this is an incredible TE draft class! Make that 4 D, 3 O. And now we're away from the "one side of the ball"-concept.

    Would you?

Easy, not Howard. TE is not as big a need as multiple other positions, and this is a crazy deep TE draft. It wouldn't be smart to go TE in the 1st round, regardless of the position the Bears are in.
  8. While most of us are all about DE, S, CB, QB, there hasn't been much talk about OLB as a selection. 1. Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson 2. TJ Watt, OLB, Wisconsin 3. Cooper Kupp, WR, EWU 4. Justin Evans, S, TX A&M 4. Rasul Douglas, CB, WVU 5. George Kittle, TE, Iowa 7. Mack Hollins, WR, UNC Read his rationale here. I don't like doubling up on WR, but that's a different take than we've been seeing lately.
  9. No way in hell I'd trade up for Peterman. Dude's average.
  10. With all the uproar, I got to thinking about a hypothetical... If the Bears moved from Chicago, would you still be a fan? For those local to Chicago, I imagine your feelings would be a little different than others. I'm not local, but just thinking about it disgusts me to the point of nausea. With the McCaskey's as owners, however, I could imagine something like this happening if the money were right.
  11. You're right about accepting the fact that the Bears are destined to have at least one hole. Per the bolded, however, I think the inverse of that is truer. Putting the right rookie on the OL (see: Long, Whitehair), preferably one drafted high, can have an immediate impact on the offense. Without Whitehair's standout performance last year, we're likely going into this year wondering if Jordan Howard is really the answer, not to mention the already established uncertainty of the passing game. Put one more standout in there at OT, someone like Ryan Ramcyzk from Wisconsin if he were to slip, and he would do more for the offense than a rookie TE who will likely have to stay in to block a considerable amount of time because of the subpar OT play.

    Lattimore

Because... 1. Lattimore is only the clear cut top prospect because Sidney Jones got hurt, and still some teams have him behind Humphrey. 2. The Bears have Prince, Porter, Coop, Fuller, and to some extent Leblanc. CB at #3 is an extreme luxury for a team with much bigger holes to fill. 3. He was only a starter for one year. While his stats were pretty OK, lots of guys have had a single good season and later under-performed. 4. His INT #s last year are weak and semi-inflated. Three of the four were horrible throws, and less to do with his ability than the QBs poor decision. 4a. Tulsa - Tipped ball. Just lucky. 4b. Tulsa - QB threw an atrocious ball right to him and 5yds behind the WR. 4c. OU - Really bad throw to an absolutely blanketed WR. If you watch the video, Lattimore looks like the WR because he's got such superior inside position on the pass. 4d. Maryland - One of those Cutler to Martellus INTs where the receiver goes one way, the QB throws the other, and the only one standing there is the CB. 5. There are better players available. Garrett, Adams, Allen all have multiple stand-out seasons under their belts. Bonus. And he's injury prone.
  13. Disagree. They should cut his ass. It's not minor. Did you read the article? He was being a drunken idiot, mistreating people in the bar, and when the cops tried to calm him down Hall "tried to escape and spat in their faces." That's not minor. Then he "resisted as he was being put in handcuffs and refused to get in the back seat of the squad car." That's not minor. Then he got tazed! That's not minor. They should cut his ass. With Porter, Prince, Cooper, and Fuller on the roster, he's not needed at CB. And that's one reason why he's being moved to Safety. He's expendable and should be used to send a message.
  14. I really hope this happens. I said it when they drafted him, but who knew Grasu was going to go down. Whitehair is probably the second best lineman on the team behind Long, and as long as Grasu is average, then the team would be best suited with the following OL configuration: Whitehair - Sitton - Grasu - Long - ???
  15. After looking at everyone's comments...there appears to be a little push for OT in the top 5 needs. As with most teams that aren't good, there are more needs than picks. 2017 EVERYONE AGREES MOCK - VER 3.2 (Post-FA) 1. Jamal Adams, FS, LSU - Great prospect, may have to lead the D 2. DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame - QB of the future 3. Taylor Moton, OT, Western Michigan - Good size/measurables, good run/pass blocker 4. Sidney Jones, CB, Washington - Takes over for CBs on 1yr or last year deals. 4. Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson - Offensive weapon in deep draft. 5. Jarron Jones, DE, Notre Dame - Upside DE prospect with versatility 7. Kenny Golladay, WR, Northern Illinois - Go-go Golladay for great 7th round value Would anyone be opposed to this?
  16. I would be completely shocked if Pace is even considering a QB at #3 at this point. With Glennon and Sanchez, he's basically saying, "We'll see what these guys can do for a year, and we'll draft for value elsewhere. If that doesn't work, the team should be better overall and I can then look a little harder at the next crop of QBs." If Pace had a massive woody about any of the rookies, he likely wouldn't have signed Sanchez. I don't think the Bears have ever simultaneously carried four QBs. If they draft one that would mean Shaw is likely gone. You don't spend a high draft pick on a guy who is essentially going to be the third QB on the depth chart.
  17. I like that a lot. At this point, however, I think I'd take an OT over Ryan Switzer, no matter how much I man-crush him. With WWWM at WR, the Bears have too much potential to get another WR. Help is needed much more at OT, since both starters are below average.
  18. I don't think it's a coincidence either. However, if Watson or Kizer are there in the 2nd round, I don't see how the Bears pass.
  19. Let's assume you're correct on the locks. CB: 1. Tracy Porter - (Financial lock), Only legit returning starter, average, costs next to nothing to cut him next year. Likely on his last year. 2. Prince Amukamara - (Financial lock), One year deal 3. Marcus Cooper - (Financial lock) He's not going anywhere, but the majority of his cap hit is in year one. If he sucks, he could be cut for only $1M dead cap. 4. Deiondre' Hall - Being moved to safety. Which makes room to keep Fuller on the roster. Fuller is $3M+ in dead cap if cut. 4. Kyle Fuller - (Financial lock) Average, on his last year. Likely gone unless he explodes. 5. Bryce Callahan -Not starter quality 6. Cre'Von LeBlanc - Not starter quality That's a bunch of guys on what amount to one year deals. Safety: 1. Quentin Demps - SS - He's in Chicago to stay, but his deal is a lot like Cooper's. Only big hit is this year ( 2. ?? - Adrian Amos - FS - He's not a lock, because he's not very good. 3. ?? - Deon Bush - SS - Not very good, but recently drafted. 4. ?? - Deiondre' Hall - FS - They like him enough to try him at another position. Likely Cut - Harold Jones-Quartey, DeAndre Houston-Carson, Chris Prosinski I'd be fine with the Bears getting a CB or FS as early as they would like. Cut Callahan or LeBlanc for the rookie CB, and cut any number of guys for the rookie FS. This is also why I'm not a huge fan of Adams at #3, because he's a true SS, not a true FS. The Bears just got Demps at SS, and he's too good to be a backup SS. Drafting Adams would be shoving a round peg in an oval hole
  20. The more I think about this draft the less I like it. The big names excited me, but I wonder if there is a better option available? 1-Jonathan Allen DE 2-Deshaun Watson QB 3-Zay Jones WR 4-Jeremy Sprinkle TE 4-Brenden Langley CB Where is the FS & OT? Do the Bears really need a WR or TE that early? Why not see what kind of players Wheaton, White, Wright, and Sims are before using a pick? Especially since that draft leaves FS and OT with huge holes. If the draft plays out like they have it, I'd rather see: 1-Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama 2-Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson 3-Desmond King, CB, Iowa 4-Julie'n Davenport, OT, Bucknell 4-Eddie Jackson, FS, Alabama
  21. See, I happen to think he'll be one of those 10-year guys who flirts with all-pro every year but gets beaten out by some freak performer like Watt.
  22. I'd like that, including the first round pick. Leggett goes in the 3rd round, before Sprinkle.
  23. I like it lemon, but integrating everyone's mock into a single mock everyone can agree upon is nearly impossible.
  24. I personally disagree. I think the combination of him, Carey, and Langford precludes the drafting of another RB. I just don't think it's a very big need when there are so many other needs. Having said that, I wouldn't be super upset if McCaffrey fell to the Bears in the 2nd and got drafted. Someone like that could be a difference maker.
