  1. I'll tell you what, whoever did the TE rankings should be promoted quickly. Gronk Gresham Hernandez Graham Dickerson McCoy Dickson Moeaki Pitta Top four were absolutely nailed. Graham was scored lower than he should have been, but he was still top 4. The guy who ranked their WRs sucked by comparison.
  2. I think Amos starts at FS, and Bush starts immediately at SS. The way Bush hits, puts his hat on the ball, causes fumbles, I just don't see how he stays on the bench.

    Tough loss

Normally I'm pretty meh on things like this, but from what I've read about this guy, this actually is a bad loss. What team has scouted and drafted pretty well for a decade? The Ravens. Well, this guy worked for the Ravens in the NE, then SE, then as a national scout for 14 years. They had a lot of significant hits during that time-frame. Then in his only year with the Bears, he's involved in a draft that is pretty much being touted as one of the top-5 drafts. It made it to the top 2 - best in the NFC - when they did the bracket breakdown with McShay, Kiper, and two others. This is a guy I wish we could have kept around.
  4. Let's see... 19th in total yards allowed. 10th in rushing yards allowed. (somehow) 29th in passing yards allowed. Think about that second number for a second. 10th in rushing yards allowed. That's with Ego, Sutton, Unrein, and Washington at DE. That combination of guys scares nobody in the NFL. And that's with Christian Jones, SMC, and Timu at ILB. For the record, that's undrafted, shouldn't have been drafted, undrafted. Upgrades: DE-Akiem Hicks is an auto-starter, and known as a good run D guy DE-Jonathan Bullard adds depth at worst, and good talent vs the run ILB-Danny Trevathan bolsters run D significantly, rated high vs run ILB-Jerrell Freeman bolsters run D significantly, rated high vs run Those additions alone should turn the team into a much better run D...which is scary. Some may say, "The run D was good because everyone could easily pass on them." Well, consider the following: -Pernell McPhee is still going to be good, if not better. -Lamarr Houston was clearly recovering from his ACL tear at the beginning of the year, and really got strong at the end of the year. He had twice as many tackles in his last 6 games last year as he did in the first 10 games. -Willie Young had 5.5 sacks and 17 tackles the 2nd half of the season. He had 1 sack and 7 tackles in the 1st half. Clearly his injury was affecting him. -Oh, let's throw in Leonard Floyd, who is certain to get to the QB a few times. Do you think those guys will shrink the pocket size and time to stand around? I think so. There goes the "they didn't have to run because they could throw so easily"-argument. We'll see how it all plays out, but I can't see how this D doesn't drastically improve.
  5. Very interesting. This sort of thing just doesn't get out in the general public's hands. Someone screwed up big time.
  6. I saw something that said Hall signed.
  7. You obviously can't predict other trades, or anything like that. All you can do is pick where the Bears picked. Here's how I would have done it: 1) Laremy Tunsil, LT, Ole Miss - Huge steal here. He was supposed to be top 3, and before all the trade craziness he was probably #1. I think 75% of Bears fans thought he was the pick when the Bears traded up to #9. 2) Vonn Bell, FS, Ohio St - A safety with great coverage ability. Fits what the FO wants to do. 3) Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida - Value is too good here. Great pick. 4) Andrew Billings, NT, Baylor - He's a monster. Should have gone earlier. Provides depth & competition for Goldman. 4) Dak Prescott, QB, Miss. St. - Can't believe we didn't get a QB. 4) Rashard Robinson, CB, LSU - 1st-2nd round talent. If he stays clean, this is a huge steal. 5) Jordan Howard, RB, Indiana - Great complement to Langford. I didn't even want a RB and I like this pick. 6) Dadi Nicholas, OLB, Va Tech - He's got explosive pass-rush ability and potential at 34OLB. 7) Scooby Wright, ILB, Arizona - Even if he's just a 2-down player, he was the single best defensive player in 2014. That's way better than 7th round talent. My draft lacks the slot-WR, but it's possible Braverman would have been available UDFA. Otherwise, the same positions are there, with the exception of OT/OG reversal, and I believe Tunsil is a WAY better prospect than Whitehair (even though Whitehair is good). How would you have done it?
  8. Good to see Bullard and Whitehair on the list. Interesting to see two Browns LBs on the list: Schobert and Wright. Part of me wishes the Bears got Wright in the 7th and someone else in the 4th.
  9. :D I hope they don't get rid of him.

    Slauson released

I can't believe you guys so quickly forget how influential Urlacher was to the D. When he was in there, things went well. Plays were called. He covered things the right way. Without Urlacher, many things didn't work as well or efficiently. He wasn't the only reason for the downfall, but he was a damn big part. Slausson certainly isn't Urlacher, but let's hope his departure is dissimilar in terms of how the team performs.

    Slauson released

Could be something to do with the severely limited number of 6'+ft., 300+lb humans who aren't complete slobs.

    Slauson released

While nobody signed Urlacher, make no mistake, the team suffered. They were noticeably worse on D the next year, and obviously lacked leadership. His last year they were a damn good defense, and the year after they were one of the worst in the NFL.
  13. Not as impressive as I would have thought. He disengages far too quickly, too often. Whether or not this is by design I can't say - sometimes it obviously is - but it's not something I like. He seems to be looking for the next guy far too often, instead of dominating the first guy. I hope it's just their scheme. He also seems sort of slow laterally.
  14. haha. Ouch. Man, I thought that dude was destined for greatness.

    Rolle released

Rolle is injury prone, old, and in the way of some rookies with potential. His salary was just a cherry on top. I get what the FO is doing with the athletic, versatile safeties they're trying to get, but I wonder if it's a partial mistake. There is something to be said for the traditional slobber-knocker S who can destroy a RB in the hole or murder a WR going across the middle.

    Slauson released

Am I surprised? Yes. Do I like it? Not really, because I think he was still pretty good. Am I upset? Nope. I can't believe anyone is, to be quite honest. If they can cut ties with a franchise workhorse RB with almost injury history, surely they can do the same to an FA OG with an injury. Looks like the OL is Leno-Whitehair-Grasu-Long-Massie now.
  17. My hope is Leno-Slauson-Grasu-Long-Massie. That would mean Grasu got better and is not a wasted pick. Then when Slauson's contract is up, Whitehair squeezes in at LG.
  18. The one good thing is, out of the three teams, green bay drafted the worst in my opinion. Lions: Decker, Robinson, Glasgow, Killebrew, Dahl, Antwoine Williams, Rudock, Zettel, Jeremy Landes, Washington Honestly, I love the Lions draft. They definitely solidified their OL, and did it with attitude. They got two probable defensive starters (Robinson / Killebrew), and two guys who could push for action (Williams / Zettel). Although, it's odd they passed on WR. Vikings: Treadwell, Alexander, Beavers, Brothers, Boehringer, Morgan, Weatherly, Kearse I like the Vikings draft, but not as much as ours or the Lions. Treadwell is going to be a nightmare. Period. Add in the potential of Boehringer and Morgan and the Lions may have some scary weapons soon. Meanwhile, Alexander should have gone in the first round in my opinion. He starts for them immediately. And I'm a huge fan of Kearse; he'll shock people and get some playing time. I think Beavers and Brothers have the potential to start for them as well.
  19. I sure hope you're wrong and they don't plan on moving Long to LT. I really don't like that move. He's a potential HOF OG. They shouldn't mess with that. Also, this is the kind of scenario you end up with when drafting too heavily towards BPA. There are four guys (Long, Slausson, Grasu, Whitehair) who can start for three positions, and there is one guy (Leno) who can start at LT.
  20. Oh, I noticed. In fact, I hoped he was being thought of as a LT. I said it after he was drafted. The video, however, is from someone in the Bears organization - scouting director? - and they said he is not playing OT. He's definitely playing OG or C. I don't feel great about a competition between Leno and an UDFA. Smells a little like Webb/Omiyale.

    UDFA Thread

Guys I wish they'd grab: Vernon Adams, QB, Oregon - A QB who had intangibles. Leader. Kyle Friend, C, Temple - Three time team captain, weight room monster, bull in a china shop Eric Striker, LB, Oklahoma - Too much playmaking ability to go undrafted. Jeremy Cash, SS, Duke - Huge hitter, great in run support, drops bombs.
  22. Just watched a video where they said Whitehair was definitely playing inside at OG. Maybe C. I'm not sure about this pick now. Is he a Slausson replacement? Is he a Grassu replacement? Doesn't matter the scenario, there is one problem remaining... No LT to push Leno. Leno may end up being the worst starting position player on the team this year, and that's not something you want in your LT.
  23. HAHAHA! Correct. Braverman is shifty. I remember that game vs. OSU and I came away thinking, "Who the hell is this guy?" He juked OSU players all over the field.
  24. ABSOLUTELY. The 7th round is where you take risks. That's a minimal risk and high reward pick. Better than a guy with 7th round skill who won't make the squad anyway.
