  1. NFL.com grades have been pretty damn consistent with the spot players are being drafted. It makes me feel good to think Pace is finding value. Below are the averages of all picks, and the value of the Chicago pick(s). The ones that are highlighted are the highest rated pick in the respective round. Other than the 4th round, the Bears are easily above the average. RD 1: AVG-6.27, CHI-6.5 RD 2: AVG-5.86, CHI-6.1 RD 3: AVG-5.53, CHI-6 RD 4: AVG-5.42, CHI-5.1, 5.2, 5.4 (AVG-5.23) RD 5: AVG-5.29, CHI-6.1 RD 6: AVG-5.22 (through 15 picks), CHI-5.5
  2. 6th round: DHC from W&M. Based on the talk of versatility, this one isn't a huge shock. Converted CB as a S.
  3. You may be right in terms of trends, but Scooby is highly underrated. That guy was the best defensive player in ALL of college in 2014.
  4. Jerrell Adams one pick before the Bears. That hurts if they were targeting TE.
  5. If Bush is thought of as a FS, I wouldn't mind seeing one of the next picks used on a SS. Cash and Kearse are both still available. Either would be very nice.
  6. I didn't even want a RB, and I'm cool with this pick. Great value, way later than he should have gone, and he's a good complement of power to the guys currently on staff.
  7. Interesting how this draft is playing out. Do we even need another S or LB at this point?
  8. You got me excited with that comparison!! I really like Hall this late.
  9. Interesting. I mean, his youtube highlight is nicknamed "The Hitman". I view him more of a guy who can hit but has trouble in coverage at times.
  10. Deon Bush - Solid S pick. Not my favorite, but it's a need. He's definitely not a FS, so he's the presumptive SS of the future.
  11. Need is debatable I guess, because I don't think RB is a need. I don't really want to see a RB. The need a SS much more, still have a question at LT, still need a solid CB, and could use another rotational 5T DE.
  12. That's a sound strategy in my opinion. Better than picking an OLineman in the 7th, starting him for years, and letting him kill your QB.
  13. Like I said, he's targeting players specifically. I don't know where Nick Kwiatkoski was projected by the Bears - saw him from 4th to 7th in various mocks - but he's a guy I've liked for a while. He's a ball player. I don't know the Bears need an ILB since they just signed two, but I think he's a good player. Would rather have had Scooby though.
  14. Trade up? Again, it looks like Pace is targeting specific players and moving up/down based upon whether or not he can get them.
  15. The Lions scare me the most. Aside from being the Lions, they've made some solid picks. Decker is nasty. Robinson has the potential to be nasty. Glasgow is nasty. And now they draft Killebrew, a SS who delivers the biggest hits in the draft.
  16. Bolded...I hope not. We saw that at RT he was not nearly as effective as he was at RG. He's a stud RG, a potential HOFer. He's an average RT. And LT is traditionally harder than RT. I really hope Whitehair is going to be given a shot at LT. He played very well there. All the short arm/long arm stuff is somewhat overrated in my opinion. If a guy with X length arms hits at full extension, and a guy with X+2" length arms hits with a little bent elbow, it ends up being a wash. It also has to do with hip lowering, body angle, thrust, and a variety of other body angles that make blockers good or bad.
  17. My dream fourth round, in no order: -Dak Prescott -Jayron Kearse -Scooby Wright
  18. I'm hoping he plays LT. I like him there more than I like him at OG.
  19. But why? I'm a professed OL lover, and I would not do that. Clark makes more sense since Long officially got moved back to OG.
  20. I'm not sure how I feel about the trade. I really thought Alexander had great potential. And to go within the division hurts more.
  21. So the trade with the Seahawks was a loss on the trade value chart. I wonder why we didn't push for one of Seattle's 3rd round picks? That makes more sense.
  22. The 4th round this year has some significant value. Imagine the following: Joe Haeg, LT, NDST Jerrell Adams, TE, USC Jayron Kearse, SS, Clemson
  23. So a 3rd, three 4ths, one 5th, two 6ths, one 7th? 8 picks. Not bad.
  24. The only other trade I know of with the Seahawks involved Rick Mirer...and that didn't work out well.
