But, there were two people killed and to not come forward with the real story up front screams unreliability and not facing up to responsibilty in the most fundamental way.

This will, and should, drop Carter out of no 1 consideration. He's probably going to get a fine for speeding, wreckless driving, leaving the scene, etc., and then wait for the NFL to make a call.
