  1. It's easy to overlook the amount of injuries at key positions in our D, and that we literally are starting a second string D. Some positions are even down to 3rd options. I've seen Frey out there. Liked him in preseason but right now it's such a mess it's hard to even evaluate or tell what the plan is. The Austin end around for their first TD, I saw Shea run himself out of the play. on the replay they focused on the block on Conte, but what made that play happen was Shea instead of staying home and playing contain heads for the QB only to have Austin sprint past him with the ball. Shea stays home and keeps contain he has a chance to make that tackle for a minimal gain. There are so many little things that are killing us on D. Lack of contain, poor angles, poor gap integrity, players playing themselves out of position, poor tackling, etc. It's maddening to watch especially when you contrast it with what we are used to seeing out of our D. I think the key injuries are the ones in the middle having our D-Line so gutted by injury that the lack of skill and experience with the backups now playing, has made us a sieve against the run, and little or no pressure on the QB, just exasperates and exposes all the other weaknesses. If your D Line can stop the run and get regular pressure on the QB, it makes the rest of the D's job that much easier. Just like offense it all starts up front.
  2. Just don't see the D getting any better this year. This game reminds me of the first detroit game. We got behind the 8 ball early. and never could recover. We are a team that can only really play with a lead, if we get behind by more than a score our D can't make the necessary stops to come back. fitting end to this debacle an interception. GB leading by 3 in OT ove the vikings. If they win there will be a 3 way tie in our division with detroit holding the tie breaker over us.
  3. Maybe I should sell my Monday night tickets vs the cowboys. The bears are getting worse each week now.
  4. he was down but they'll give it to the rams
  5. Game over. Nice job blowing the game Chicago!
  6. I'm 36 and hardly in football shape I could probably run on the Bears D
  7. sadly a moot point cause we can't stop anyone. down 6 and they are moving the ball. Time and our own ineptness on D is our biggest enemy now
  8. we got screwed a few times earlier so serves them right.
  9. TD Forte!!!! now don't take this one away from Matt too.... guessing they will though it's close
  10. what a dumb penalty. But we're dumber by giving it to bush on first and goal from the one and he gives us second and goal from the 3.
  11. holly shit they didn't pick that one up. Guess they couldn't since it was too obvious to overlook.
  12. if that was a bears player they would have ruled it a horse collar. and now Forte's hurt because of it....
  13. and the rams have been called for what.... 2?
  14. freak these refs!!!!! screwed out of a TD again......
  15. A detroit loss is a golden opportunity and we won't take advantage of it.
  16. We look very sloppy and lethargic. The rams look better prepared and more fired up for the game.
  17. Yeah, and you can't tell me there wasn't any personal foul worthy actions by the rams in that scrum. Kyle's brother Chris came off the bench to get into the mix. Though thankfully it was to protect Kyle from himself. But still... and the one on the Jeffry end around was iffy at best.
  18. not surprising we can't stop anyone on the ground. Curtis Enis could probably get a buck fifty on our D and he was a moron
  19. and he got robbed of a TD on an iffy penalty. Beginning to think they are just looking for reasons to flag the bears.
  20. It was a highly entertaining game and I know at times we can get a little too fired up in either direction but felt it was a good game thread. I miss the days when many of us would jump into the chat room and have a good live discussion. Glad you joined the game thread the more the better.
  21. Not looking to stir anything but, expecting everyone to be all rosy and positive during a game thread when most games have their ups and downs is unrealistic, as is requesting that those who post anything negative in a game thread not post anymore during a game is IMO ridiculous. A game thread is the place to vent when something bad happens, and express joy when something good happens. I believe all of us here want the team to win, are happy when we do win. But just because we win doesn't mean it was without it's flaws. I'm thrilled that we won, Detroit lost, GB lost, SF lost, and will be rooting for a Carolina Loss tomorrow. It was ugly, but a win is a win, sometimes you have to win ugly.

    Josh McCown

I totally agree, let Jay heal fully. Josh has given no reason to doubt that Josh can keep the ship afloat till Jay is 100% ready to be back. Both games are winnable, and will be must wins to keep pace with the Lions. We caught a break today with the Lions losing to the Steelers. Rooting for the Saints to finish off the 49ers who seem to have our refs as the niners just got away with a grounding that should have been a safety that would have given the saints a 2 pt lead and the ball with 2 min left.
  23. And on top of that they were allowed to grab, interfere, hold, and even allowed to lower their helmet initiating helmet to helmet. and that's is perfectly acceptable. Despite the win, they need to send this film to the league it was down right atrocious.
  24. Good Point, the bears are the cardiac kids and Tolzein throws a pick six to give the giants a 27-13 lead in the 4th
