Defense is going to have to keep the Lions off the board the rest of the way for us to have a chance... not sure they can do that.
-
screw you Jay.....
-
Jay doesn't look sharp at all. Even on the big completions I'm finding myself holding my breath. Also agree, can't keep settling for FG's our only TD is from outside the red zone.
-
what sucks is we were up 10-9 and moments later we're down 30-10.... I still don't think that Johnson TD was a TD he only got one foot down and they never questioned it.... The long kick off return there was block in the back not called. But this hole we're in is on Jay, cannot be that careless with the ball. We've given the Lions a huge momentum boost. Pass rush is still non existent, we know this offense will feature Bush and Johnson and we've yet to come close to containing bush. 3 and out to start the second half not good....

I happened to be looking for where I could pick up a copy of Trestman's book, seems it's only sold at Amazon.com but when I go to the item page the kindle version (which I don't have a kindle) is 14.95, but the paperback version list two used from 172.20? Why is it 15 bucks as a digital book, and 172 bucks paperback? This does't seem right, does anyone know where to pick up a copy that's more realistically priced?

It was crazy seeing the clock on Jay. Watching the games this season it's clear Jay has been getting it out quicker but to see the actual time from snap to throw was eye opening. For the past few years here in Chicago one thing that has been a big knock on Jay has been his propensity to hold onto to the ball too long creating sack situations and making the line issues even more obvious. The mechanics, and timing of Jay's drop, plant, read, and throw are vastly improved. They also pointed out that Trestman has him holding the ball higher and I think that helps his throwing motion to be more compact and thus quicker. His trust for the line is also apparent as he now feels comfortable stepping up into the pocket rather than allowing the outside rush to get to him. This really helps the tackles allowing them to push the defender past Jay as he steps up. Stepping up in the pocket has also helped him see running lanes better when they are there to use his feet. It'd have been interesting if in the segment where they timed his throws, to also include clips of the past few years where he was holding the ball too long. There were times when he was holding the ball past 3-5 seconds and getting plastered. Take that to those media talking heads who labeled Jay as unteachable, broken, stubborn. I think Trestman/Kromer and the new additions to the Line have been a breath of fresh air for Jay. It's one thing to keep switching from crap system to crap system and then developing a negative or pessimistic outlook. I think any of us would have appeared unteachable or damaged if we were in Jay's shoes there was no real effort in helping, protecting, or giving him weapons. We went from bad system to bad system to bad system. We finally have a system that has reason to be optimistic. I think it's more that Jay can see the light at the end of the tunnel and he's all for that.

Any thoughts?

Hasen't always been pretty but at the end of the day we won, GB lost, and Minny Lost, and we have a chance to hand Detroit a loss next week. It's a work in progress but when you can get wins while you are working out the kinks that's just frosting on the cake. Perhaps Green Bay's deal with the Devil has run out. I know GB fans are starting to question Rodger's play in clutch situations against good teams. How funny would it be that the Great Rodger's becomes shaky when the game is on the line and our own Jay Cutler becomes Mr. Clutch. That TD drive when things got tight was clutch, starting off with the first down run where Jay decleats the DB take that people who think jay is a wuss. In the first 3 games there are things to build on, things to improve, and we're winning as we mature as a team. I like the standings 3-0 Bears 2-1 Lions 1-2 Packers 0-3 Vikings

welcome back Peppers!

It is nice challenge and great catch by Bennett welcome back Earl
-
we need a TD on this drive, for once it would be nice to win leading the whole way.
-
I agree short 1 yard on 3rd down and we go play action, hell a dump off would have been better than a double covered Marshall. We needed to run it on 3rd and 1, run behind the rookies pick up the first down and start dictating the game again... now start of the 4th they are only down 7 and have all the momentum.
-
making this crappy steelers offense look like world beaters..... does help when you are allowed to hold. Bears D really needs to improve through 3 weeks we've not looked sharp other than the turnovers.
-
Davis would have tackled himself and that's if he even caught the ball lol
-
nice no call on Dwyer leading with the helmet on that last run
-
I is a thing of beauty when when there is a pick they set up blockers for a return. Not sure the receiver even knew the ball was coming.
-
That is worrisome. I'm also a little concerned that we are allowing recievers to get behind our coverage, not just today but thus far. I wonder if we are trying to hard to read the QB and jump routes that we aren't fully defending the routes.
-
no doubt and by the way like the avatar. That was a funny quote by Marty on the Jay Cutler show about Trestman being like the original Willie Wonka
-
screwed out of a TD twice on this drive Bush had to score three times before they gave us the score.... smh

I was pulling for the trifecta but the Skin's couldn't get it done. And I will say I frigging hate Kaepernick!!!! he is crapping the bed on my fantasy team But at the end of the day. A Bears win, a Packers loss, and a Vikings loss, is still a good day
-
Ok I have Kaepernick and Cutler on my roster and he's earned me a grand total of .78 points the last two games after a big first game. Is it too early to panic and give up on him. I was worried about him falling after a big rookie year just like Cam Newton did. I wish I'd have taken QB 1 round earlier and had better options. But this is the mess I have right now. My fear is that it's going to be feast or famine with Kaep. Last week I chalked it up to a bad game against a stellar D. This should have been a good matchup. Some of the QB's on the FA list: Alex Smith, EJ Manuael, Ryan Tannehill, Terelle Pryor, Carson Palmer, Christian Palmer, Jake Locker, Geno Smith, Brian Hoyer. Not exactly a who's who of the best QBs.
-
Not surprising that he's shell shocked, as many hits as he took in his previous years here, and how often he has had to run for his life. Being able to drop back and not have someone on you before you finish your drop is probably a strange thing and that's not something you easily shake, but I like how Long and Mills have gained his trust and as this season goes he should feel more and more comfortable back there.

Harbaugh is a prick plain and simple always enjoy seeing him lose, get mad, or not have his way.
