The biggest thing that I took away from the Bucs win last night and how ineffective the Chiefs were is oline, oline oline. It would be great to solve the QB position but it’s still as important as in 1985 you win in the trenches. If the QB has time, the RB is not hit in the backfield on the majority of his carries it’s likely you will have some success. With our oline QB has been running for their life and the running back is lucky to get back to the line of scrimmage. Would Mahomes play last night been how he would have played for us since being drafted with Leno and Massie being his tackles.

I’m tired of giving away draft capital or signing high priced free agents. Chasing a veteran who never meets the expectation on signing day. I was ecstatic when the Bears signed Cutler, Peppers and Mack but was it really worth it. Draft the best oline players available even if you have to move up. If we have a terrible year based on the tough schedule I’ve heard mentioned and poor play calling if Nagy takes this back from Lazor. We might be in the dance for one of the better QB’s if any good ones are available. The way to win in this league is either having a generational type QB or having a good QB with a great oline and a great defense. Rogers is a generational QB who has benefited from great oline play. Would it be correct to say that year on year in the past 2 decades Green Bay’s oline has been superior to the Bears.

The blow it up philosophy as really worked over the last decade since Lovie. I live in the UK, am a passionate Bears fan buying merchandise and getting to watch the Bears when they play here. I listen to Chicago radio on ESPN, contribute to this board and listen to every press conference on periscope. I have to say to negativity from Bears fans is shocking. I know Mitch is not Mahomes and Pace made a mistake although he was the number one rated QB in the draft. My question is how many QB’s the Bears have had since 2000 are worse than Mitch. In the NFC North since 2000 how many QB’s would you takeover Mitch. Obviously Favre, Rogers and Stafford. I think the problem the Bears have is looking a Green Bay with envy. They managed to have 2 generational players at QB which is hard to swallow and this has had a direct impact on our success. Rogers has hard as it is to swallow is one of the best QB’s of all time and how many teams passed over him in the draft. I am as much worried about blowing it up because we may be here again in 4 years. If Ted Phillips is ready to step down or retire putting in place a football man at the top may be the only thing that is needed. Pace and Nagy haven’t been good but made the playoffs twice in the past 3 years. Do we need improvement Yes but this needs to be done rationally.

Eddie Jackson has been poor this season. Mitch gets heaps of shite thrown his way but Eddie has done nothing since he got a new contract. I have been positive this year but I think it’s over now. -

Nagy or Lazor being too clever. I’m running Montgomery in any critical situation. Might be they don’t want to over work Montgomery and when we score a TD on our 1st drive of the second half the game is in our hands. Have to say the D has stepped up and I’m proud of the Bears. We are playing well against the number 2 seed who have most of their team playing. -

Jaylon Johnson is inactive. I am shocked that none of our questionable players have made this game because it’s a potential one and done. McMahon was on painkillers all week with a bad back and came off the bench to beat the Vikings. Walter ran for over 200 yards with the flu. Are the players different now, are the team physicians too cautious or am I being to harsh. With our inactives it feels like a miracle will be needed to beat the Saints. The Saints look like having Thomas (high ankle sprain), Kamara (Covid) and Hill (concussion) all available. Come on you Bears let’s have a game for the ages tonight ??? -

Looking forward to the game and the D rising to all of the negative comments. Hopefully we stop the run and play tighter coverage to stop the short passes. I think if Kamara plays and Roquan misses the game either a quick linebacker covers Kamara because Trevathan will be exposed or one of the back up safeties play as an hybrid linebacker. The play from the front four will be whether we stop the run. On offence we should feed Montgomery the play, use play action and if the secondary sits on our short routes see some double moves. Mitch to have a great day and the Bears winning 31-24. -
Trubisky can only pass to the plays that have been called and this may be because the Packers secondary is better the our wide receiver group. I don’t know why double moves weren’t used to stop the DB’s sitting on routes. The short routes may also be down to the coaches assessing that our OL isn’t able to pass protect for a route that takes time to develop. On the longer passes is it possible to redo this chart to show if the receiver was open, had not caught a ball that was catchable and if it was a tight window or good separation had been gained.

Buster Skrine still not practicing because of a concussion. Missed 4 games already is that a concern. Head injuries are a major worry. If a concussion lingers this long should the player call it a day and retire. Jaylon was limited so fingers crossed for Sunday ? -
Cardinals lost so we are in. Didn’t want it this way but we are in. Fingers crossed we get Roquan, Jaylon and Buster back next week. Until the last couple of drives it was close and we could have picked off Rogers twice. I’m a glass half full person so I’m proud of how we played today.
-
How unlucky was the D. I hate Rogers he’s a jammy ?
-
Great series by the O come on D lets have another stop ?
-
Any news on Roquan. Is he in the concussion protocol?
-
Hope Roquan comes back. Fingers crossed. Shame that Danny was matched up on the speedy wideout
-
Brilliant start to the game but feeling lots of anxiety. Come on D.
-
I noticed that Prince Amukamara is on the Cardinals practice squad and I don’t think he has played for them this year. Being on the practice squad I imagine he would be relatively fit if not game fit. Could the Bears grab him because he would be familiar with the system we run. Would he not be a better option than Vildor at corner.
-
Disappointed Johnson and Skrine couldn’t play Sunday. If Johnson has a serious shoulder injury can’t understand why he isn’t on IR
-
I don’t like to see players suffer injuries but the Packers losing David Bakhtiari to a season ending injury should help the front four get pressure on Rogers. https://www.nfl.com/news/packers-lt-david-bakhtiari-suffers-season-ending-knee-injury

On offense I hope we run the ball and use a lot of RPO with Mitch. I think Green Bay will use a 5 or 6 man front similar to the front they used to stop Derrick Henry. From a 2 TE, 2 WR and 1 HB I’m hoping we can run the ball effectively and when we pass Mitch’s options are small so he can get rid of the ball quickly On defense I’m hoping that Johnson and Skrine are available and if we can’t pressure Rogers with a 4 man front Pagano can use some exotic blitz’s possibly with Smith and Trevathan showing blitz and coming or dropping out of it. I think having Hicks available will be a massive difference to the game earlier this year.
