OK, then I got the procedure the wrong way then.

Just speculating now: Tried to trade him? Asked him to take a paycut? Uncertain about the tender levels on replacements on the RFA market?
-
Per Biggs and Schefter.

Does anyone realize that he can't participate in workouts without a contract, and he can't sign an offer sheet where we get a third if he signs his tender offer?
This is just a part of restricted free agency.
He can participate in workouts if he signs an injury waiver. And if I was D. Manning, I'd take any opportunity to workout with team mates and coaches. It's not like his position on the team is solid...

Per Biggs twitter and Chicago Breaking Sports.
5-8, 185 pounds CB? Does that mean DJ Moore will be cut?
-
Ta'ufo'ou is still on the PS, isn't he? I really like him after watching his Cal resume. The rb's put up some solid numbers behind him in college.

Atogwe is tagged with the right-to-refusal tender. No draft picks to St. Louis if we should sign him.

NT Jamal Williams released by the Chargers. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Wilson...s-released.html

Adam Schefter tweeted Pace has costed the Bears $6 million in total and that his contract was $15 millions for 3 years. Seems to me that the money was spread out evenly (or backloaded).
Edit: Brad Biggs just posted the details on Pace's contract: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...retirement.html

Campbell ran the forty in 4.78. Fastest OL time ever.

Questionable knee over questionable character. At least the knee will be better with rehab.
-
Peppers is 30 as well. So you have the knee pitted against the disapperaing in games. I'd go with the knee, myself. We already have one Tommie Harris on the roster.
-
McBride isn't on the roster anymore! He was waived/IR:ed and has signed with the Cards. So that just adds to the fact that CB is a need.
-
So does the Swedish branch! Good luck next season!

Jason:
99 Rams: 1st in Points
00 Rams: 1st in Points
01 Rams: 1st in points
02 Rams: 23rd in points
03 Rams: 2ndt in points
04 Rams: 19st in points
05 Rams: 11th in points
06 Lions: 21st in points
07 Lions: 16th in points
08 49ers: 22nd in points.
So he did great in St Louis. Without Pace, Faulk, Warner, Bruce and Holt he hasn't done that much. So was his system a fit for the talent he had with the Rams or was he able to develop the players to greatness?
-
If you can guarantee that C. Williams will play like Pace did between 1999 and 2005 I buy it.
And I can't care less about total yardage. Of those 10 teams only 5 (Rams: 04, 01, 00, 99 SF: 08) threw more TDs than Int. Only Rams (99, 00, 01) threw more than 25 TDs in a season. A bit poor for a OC/HC that are considered an offensive mastermind with a pass first offense imo.

What I see if we are hiring Martz is this:
Warner was sacked 114 times in 50 games started With Mike Martz as OC or HC [AVG = 36.48 sacks / 16 GS]Bulger was sacked 116 times in 44 games started with Mike Martz as HC [AVG = 42.18 sacks / 16 GS]
Kitna was sacked 114 times in 32 games started with Mike Martz as OC [AVG = 57 sacks / 16 GS]
Hill and O'Sullivan were sacked 55 times in 16 games started with Mike Martz as OC [AVG = 55 sacks / 16 GS]
So that leaves us with 399 sacks to Martz quarterbacks in 142 games started
Equals out to an average of 2.81 sacks / game started, or 45 sacks per standard 16 games started a year. I know there are a lot of variables to consider being different teams and all, but humor me.
Now the Bears allowed 35 sacks this year to be ranked 19th in the league in the statistic, in 16 games started for Cutler. If Martz were to live up to his averages as an offensive play caller, that means Cutler could be looking at getting sacked 10 more times than he did this year bringing up roughly 80 sacks in two years. Is that what we want for him?

Jackson is reported to be the next OC for the Raiders. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Report...C-position.html
My guess is that he used the Bears for leverage against the Raiders.
-
Are you sure that you wouldn't have posted a similar post if we had hired an OC day one? Halas Hall would have jumped to early, got another crony in etc.
Take a deep breath and read this: http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2010/1/22...s-perception-vs

I still feel that Jack Ass and Losing Streak need to go.
Hilarious.

Who?
Jimmy Raye was hired Jan '09. Their Ol coach is Foerster, who was on the offense under previous OC (Martz). Foerster was a co-OL coach in '08, and the bio states he became the solo OL coach 8 games into that season.
Maybe his contract was extended, or maybe it was up and he was re-signed, but either way, he was on the team already and in the same role, so I would not say Singletary hired an OL coach before OC. This situation seems little different than how we are keeping Drake on w/o knowing who our OC will be.
Read it somewhere, can't remember where though. But you are probably right.
-
I newer saw Fisch's name mentioned without Bates' as well. So I think that we would've gone for the combo only.
And regarding hiring OL coach before OC; it is the way the HC most loud Bears fans want did it. Mike Singletary hired the 49ers OL coach before he hired an OC.

I'll give it a try. Sign me up for the Chargers.
