MY GOD GUYS! it's PRE-season! I was anxious just like all bears fans and i too wanted to see some explosiveness from our offense with cutler at the helm, but it is preseason. JA's an idiot! We need help at FS and OG but he picks two DL??? We don't need any more of them we already have harrison, harris, brown, ogun, anderson, adams, and idonije. So yeah, the first pick may be okay but two??? REALLY??? we could really use an OG like robinson so we can actually get some push in the run game cause garza sucks and did I mention that we have some incompetent cast offs at safety??? Obviously they're in rebuild mode, and seeing as how they let winslow walk for a second I would have to say that a deal like our second round pick, sixth round pick, and vasher (They're in desperate need of defensive backs I believe they also lost their SS) to put it over the edge. We could then get braylon and sign lucas for the depth from the loss of vasher or to even try him at the free safety position. I really hope that they try to bring one vet wr in cause I don't feel hester's ready for that burden not to mention braylon may require the least to pry away. I think boldin would require at least a first and maybe a third which we have neither of. However with braylon's bad year last year and the obvious state of rebuilding I would think that getting him could be a little feasible. Maybe I'm way off, but who woulda thought winslow would only net them a second rd pick? C'mon JA you did great getting cutler, but the media's right he needs a legit #1 wr to throw it to and you said it yourself a couple weeks ago which you worded it something like this: I feel we have a couple of 2's, 3's, and 4's, but we still need a #1 Make it happen JA and we're the NFC FAVORITE!! Heck you don't even need to sign lucas, it'd be just an added bonus like the pace deal.

yeah, cutler's proven, but look at NE they have argueably the most talented wr in the league in moss, so whoopee cassell had a good year as well. Doesn't mean he's better. The reason that the chiefs only gave up a second rder is because belichek (however you spell it) is buddy buddy with pioli. So he gave him a deal. Remember there were other teams said to be offering firsts for a qb might i add that only played this one season and last played ( and I mean actually played) in a highschool game. So yeah there is a big difference. Remember jay's been in this league for 3 years now and he has this little title of "PRO-BOWLER" so that alone is enough to warrant more compensation. Just be happy that NE did what they did or maybe this would have played out much more differently. By jay standing up for himself ( that's the way I view it, they're allowed to look into trading him but it's a capital crime when the player switches the tables???) it forced the broncos into a corner that they just couldn't get out of. I wouldn't be too surprised to see jerry sign lucas and move him to safety then we can either make a trade for boldin or edwards with the second or settle for a rookie like robiskie ( whom I am not too fond of and yeah I'm a big buckeye fan)

Now we need a wr let's go for holt or boldin!!!! Hell I'd even try for edwards if all it took was a second rder like it took to get winslow!!!

If we go wr in rd one, why take a chance on DHB??? Why not try to ship the 18th pick to the browns for B. Edwards? Browns are in rebuild mode, edwards had a bad year last year so I would think that the 18th pick would be adequate, and they already traded away winslow for far less and only deamed J. Thomas as untouchable via trade. Heck maybe we could land him for the 49th pick ( i believe they got a second rder for winslow or maybe it was even less than that anyone know?) and still land a guy like britton, smith, or oher. That to me would make more sense than to take a chance on a project wr. And considering that B. edwards is still young, he and hester would have a lot of years tearing up the NFC north for us. Think about it Edwards, hester and bennet with olsen at te would be a strong line-up. Not to mention that edwards is a michigan guy so he already knows what to expect in the cold climates we face come november and december. I hope the staff is considering something like this b/c I think it is very do able.

great post, my ideal draft would be britton in the first, nicks in the second, and johnson in the third, we'll see how it plays out in a month, but this is definitely good to see. Britton is rated as on of the pure RT in the draft and to get him and johnson would surely shore the line up for the next 10-15 years. Here's what we could look like in a year from now: LT - Williams LG - Omilaye/buenning C - Kreutz/ beekman RG - Johnson/ garza RT - Britton/ omilaye(swing tackle) looks pretty solid to me anyone else think that???

I'd be okay with this draft, woulda loved to see duke fall to us I feel if this offense is going to get better, it all starts with the run game and to do that you need road graders on the line and lets face it garza and beekman aren't that not to mention the newbie we got is just that with only 1 career start in the NFL.

This move sucks... I was really hoping they were considering signing Ken Lucas (released by the panthers) and finally following thru with the idea of moving tillman to FS after all we do like picking up former panthers as they like picking up former bears lol. I would feel a lot more comfortable with graham and lucas as the cb's and tillman and payne as the safety tandem then we could have used vasher as the nickel. Who knows they may still try to get him but I have a feeling they are playing a cheap year this year and are content with mediocrity which is why we still have babich on the coaching staff. Oh well this is nothing more than JA and Lovie sealing their fate at season's end. You can only blame yourself JA!

Payne is not a FS, so hopefully he will be at SS and let steltz take over at FS. Steltz is better in pass coverage anyway, and for being a rookie I think he is doing all that can be expected of him. He will be our FS of the future he has that ball hawk type of play. I just hope they keep manning at Nickel because he is showing some promise there and has the speed for babich to mix it up with some nickel blitzes now.

You need to get your butt out of Iraq and get your butt to chicago and interview for our D-coordinator job cause that is the kind of motivation this team needs! If Babich is not fired after this horrid defensive season JA and Lovie will have picked their poison and should be fired after next season! I'll give both JA and Lovie another season, but that's it. Sorry, not to piss on your parade, but I absolutely hate this mock you did. We have a weapon in forte and olsen, but our o-line sucks. Our first two picks better be o-line or we'll see mediocre (not that Forte is mediocre, but I think if he was behind a better line he'd be well over 1500 yards) all over again. Imagine what forte could do with a good o-line. I say the first two should be Duke Robinson and the second should be his buddy overhalt or whatever his name is. They are clearly doing a good job with the sooners look at AP and Murray. Shore up the line first then go QB. I'm sure we can get a vet QB to come in and start next season as I have lost a lot of faith in orton the last couple of games. Then all we have to do is make a serious run at getting a vet WR like houz, ocho cinco (preferably not) or some one else that may come available. We need a no. 1 wr in the worst kinda way. I think if we sign a vet qb and wr we'd be set. Heck even if we don't sign a qb at least orton would have a better line and forte would have better run blocking than what he has now. If we elect not to go for a qb best thing to do is dump adwale and make a strong run for Julius peppers. He on one side and Brown/ Andersen on the other would make tommie's day a little easier.
