He is one of two finalist for the GM job and has a relationship with Cohen., he Coach they hired . It's supposed to be announced on Friday.

There are some day one starters in the guard position. Booker, Jackson, Milium. We hired a OL coach from Oregon State (assistant) , he had the most outstanding OL player in the Shrine Bowl, Joshua Gray. He played center and is projected as a late round pick. We could literally get a starting center in the 5 th round if it worked out that way.

I think there's enough talented coaches in the room now, they will sort that out. Brisker has some risk but they're not righting him off just yet. Once he got hurt, our defense tailed off. Draft a rookie and develop him.

I've been looking at IOL prospects and would love a trade back at 10 to get an extra 2nd round pick. Take Tyler Booker - Donavon Jackson and Zabel to play Center. And still add a Edge and DT. Mike Green would look good but he won't be there in the second round. T J Sanders looks good and could be there in the second round. Would have to take Booker in the first round trade back scenario.

Thanks, I'm fine, I changed my diet 15 years ago, and other than some pain killers, I get around just fine. Activity is important even when it's not comfortable. Take lots of healthy support. My biggest screw up was breaking my neck 15 months ago, couldn't do anything for 4 months. It slowed my health habits but 4 months in Thailand gives me plenty of time to work on my body. One day I'll be in a wheelchair but a long ways from it right now.

Thanks for something I haven't seen before. Eric Lambert isn't known for trustworthy information but Biggs is. Being a plumber all my life both my shoulders are wasted. I have both knees and hips replacement so have just accepted the pain not wanting more surgeries. Coming to Thailand, a chiropractor has recommended stem cell injections for my joints. I have yet to check the cost but definitely will be cheaper than USA. That makes this story more interesting for me. That actually could make Bates a viable rostered player next year since he can play all 3 IOL spots. At least a backup at those spots.

Free agents I think he brings back of our own: Not Keenan Allen, for his money we can have a OL and Edge rusher Shelton/ interm center as we draft one Matt Pryor Josh Blackwell Jack Sanborn Jaylon Jones Patrick Scales The next list will be minimum contracts that could easily be replaced if find upgrades in FA or the draft Johnathan Ford/ DT Bill Murray/OG Cris Williams/ 3T Collin Johnson/WR Jacob Martin/ edge Future contracts that become potential rostered players Carl Jones/ LB Jamree Kronah/ edge Ricky Stromberg/C Samori Toure/WR Joel Wilson/TE

If you look at his history, he fits the Laporte role in Detroit. No way Johnson thinks he's not a fit. With a better offense, he will be a top 10 TE next year and 10 mil will be considered a bargain.
-
I have arthritis, just never seen the story that that is the case. I trust AZ54 more so than probably anyone else on this site, but have never heard that statement applied to Bates up until this moment that he missed the year because of that. I would have thought that was known information before this point in time.
-
10 mil a year is what average starters get. He proved he can play at a high level if used properly. There are 12 TEs making over 10 mil a year. Kmet had 55 targets this year. 47/474/4 Sam Laporte 83 targets. 60/736/7 on the best offense in the league. Kmet had one of the top catch percentages in the league. 28 TEs had more targets than Kmet in 2024. More targets better production. It's not brain surgery.
-
That may be true but his 2 previous years, he only missed one game due to injury. 2022 was his only year he started every game.
-
The first order of business for the new coaching staff is to evaluate their own players and resign their free agents that they will want to keep or cut players under contract. Bates, because of injury, may not be kept. They know more about his problem and whether he is healed. If healthy he can be a competent backup or even starting center at which they brought him in for. 4 mil would be saved. Gerald Everett never had a role on this team but has a history of a contributing player. Kmet didn't get targets so obviously Gerald didn't either. We will have to see how the new coaches evaluate him. 5 mil would be saved if cut. Tyler Scott never showed up but can a new coaching staff help him? He has speed, something Johnson values. Would only save 800 thousand. Pickens, Owens and D Robinson are others that didn't show a lot that could be cut.
-
He talked about when Ryan Pace came into power, he was offered a OL advisor to the OL coach and the Bear's only offered him 15 and hour for that position. That might have been the beginning of a coaching career but he told them to go **** themselves.
-
Montez Sweat didn't have a good year. He was burdened by nagging injuries but just because someone has a bad year, they automatically need to be traded? Now several bad years would be a problem but one year with an injury laden line shouldn't be the measuring tool. Good players don't always have consistent play every game of f their career.
-
Kmet played well when a QB throws the ball to him. He can't do anything about a lack of targets. Our passing game was disjointed and play calling was 34 wr sceens a game. If we want a professional passing game, he will be used frequently.
-
I don't think we will need to add a top WR in free agency. We have 3 weapons in Moore, Odunze and Kmet. That's exactly what Detroit had last year with a top offense. Tim Patrick would fill WR 3 role at a cheap price. Scott has speed and will given the chance to show it this year or be cut. I think they bring back Collin Johnson to fill in depth. Swift is also a weapon in the passing game.
-
We definitely need a Olin type to kick ass when things aren't going well. Rookies usually don't jump into that role for a few years. Hopefully the free agent OL can fill that role. Not sure if Trey Smith is that person, or the other few options.
-
Totally that happens but then you get Edwards and Billings at great prices. Byard's contract is reasonable, Pryor and Shelton were cheap additions. Poles has signed more good contracts than bad. Hopefully he continues that behavior.
-
Just seen where the Bears extended Cunningham's contract for one more year. As I wake up this morning, can you guys verify that? I'm at a disadvantage with information because of the 12 hours different in time and my sleep cycle.
-
Actually there's a few not around much. Grizzly has been hiding a lot.
-
Any big name free agents has to much cost of multi picks. Just draft a stud at 10 if it's that valuable. I like the value way to build, Kevin Zeilter and Chase Young for the same money.
-
Pick 98-99-100 would be a good spot to grab a RB
-
We have a history of Poles off-season agenda. Of course you could add a starting guard and still draft one. Competition is the key. Most rookies have a growth period. I think Poles has one big contract out there. That could very well be extending Kyler Gordon. Maybe 2 Nate Davis type adds, Chase Young won't get a big contract, 10-12 mil. Kevin Zeilter,Dave Dalman as a center won't be huge 12 mil? I think money will be spent on the trenches and still draft the trenches
-
Just read that Jacksonville will hire Ian. I just woke up in Thailand so I haven't followed up on this story but you guys probably have more input. That adds pick 98 if true ( I think)

I totally believe it's all your fault.
